Nanorods of S2− rich CdS were synthesized by a reaction of excess S versus Cd precursors in the presence of ethylene diamine. The photoluminescence
(PL) emission from the S2− rich CdS nanorods was broad with a peak at ∼710 nm, which was 40 nm longer in wavelength than the PL peak from Cd2+ rich CdS (∼670 nm) nanorods. The influence of surface electron or hole trap states on the luminescent pathway of CdS nanorods
will be discussed to explain these shifts in wavelength. Nanocrystals of Au ∼2 nm in size were grown on S2− rich surfaces of CdS nanorods. Significant luminescence quenching was observed from the Au nanocrystals on the CdS nanorods
due to interfacial charge separation. Change separation by the Au nanocrystals on the CdS resulted in enhanced photocatalytic

A closed form solution has been obtained for laser drilling of silicon nitride (Si3N4) and alumina ceramics (Al2O3). The drilling of workpiece is performed by using a TEM00 10 ns pulse Nd:YAG laser. It is assumed that the phase transition from solid to vapor occurs without melting. Considering the absorption of plasma plume formed on the surface of the ceramics, the one-dimensional thermal model is developed in order to describe the drilling process. The governing equation of heat-diffusion is solved analytically using a Laplace transformation method. Basing on TGA (thermal gravimetric analysis) of thermal nitridation at l200, l250, l300℃, respectively,analysis of high temperature kinetics for nitridation of silicon monocrystal has been carried out. According tothe theory for kinetics of reaction of vapour with solid phase a nitridation kinetic model, from which it can beshown thal the rate of nitridation reaction of silicon crystal should be controlled by three stage limiting factors,was proposed. These limiting factors are chemical reaction, chemical reaction mixed with diffusion and diffu-sion. Using this model to treat our experimental data, satisfactory correlation coefficient and apparentactivation energy of nitridation of p-type (lll) silicon crystal have been obtained. The nitride film was identi'fied to be a-Si_3N_4 (Hexagonal, a=0.7758nm,c_o=0.5623nm) by X-ray diffraction analysis. Biomorphic SiC hollow fibers were prepared by the reactive infiltration of SiO vapor into basswood-derived charcoal. Gaseous SiO was produced from a SiO2/Si powder mixture in Ar at elevated temperatures. Scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy were employed to characterize the structural morphology and phase compositions of the final products. The results show that the tubular cells in bulk charcoal are converted into lots of SiC hollow fibers with pore diameters of 10–50 μm and lengths ranging from hundreds of μm to several mm. Resulting SiC hollow fibers consist of β-SiC with a minute amount of α-SiC. The formation mechanism of SiC hollow fibers is based on the gas–solid reaction between SiO and carbon. 相似文献

Electrical discharge machining (EDM) is used as a precision machining method for the electrically conductive hard materials with a soft electrode material. But recently we succeeded to machine on insulating material by EDM. The technology is named as an assisting electrode method. The EDMed surface is covered with the electrical conductive layer during discharge. The layer holds the electrical conductivity during discharge. For micro-EDM, the wear of tool electrode becomes lager ratio than the normal machining. So the micro-machining is extremely difficult to get the precision sample.
In this paper to obtain a fine and precise ceramics sample, some trials were carried out considering the EDM conditions, tool electrodes material and assisting electrode materials. Insulating Si3N4 ceramics were used for workpiece. The machining properties were estimated by the removal rate and tool wear ratio. To confirm the change of micro-machining process, the discharge waveforms were observed. The micro-machining of the Ø0.05 mm hole could be machined with the commercial sinking electrical discharge machine. 相似文献

In this paper, the electric-discharge machining (EDM) of non-contact seal grooves was studied. Two types of material, namely: tungsten carbide and silicon carbide were tested by EDM due to their hard machining behaviors. The geometry of seal grooves is another reason why grinding or other precision machining processes cannot be applied. Four parameters of EDM processes were studied, namely: electrode material, pulse duration, discharge current, and polarity. According to experimental results, the optimal process parameters were obtained based on the specimen’s qualities, such as surface roughness and depth of cut.
