Ceramic (Si3 N4 /SiC) composites have been produced by sintering. From the sintered block, three point bend specimens were cut out. A semi-circular crack was made on the centre of the tension surface of the test specimen with the aid of a Vicker's indenter. The diameter of the semi-circular crack was about 60–70 μm. The specimens were subsequently heat treated at 1300°C for 1 h in vacuum, nitrogen or air. The bending strength was measured at room temperature, 800 and 1000°C. The specimens heat treated in air recovered considerably their bending strength at 1000°C, several specimens failed at a location different from the healed crack and their average strength showed the same value of that for smooth specimens. From these results, it is concluded that the recovery in bending strength of a cracked specimen was caused by crack healing. 相似文献

Compared with its nice theoretical properties and successful applications, the MRC estimator's computational aspects are not trivial. This is because the MRC objective function is neither smooth nor continuous. Therefore, the traditional Newton-Raphson type algorithm cannot be used to find the MRC estimator. As an easy solution, we propose in this article a very simple fitting algorithm named iterative marginal optimization (IMO), which guarantees a monotone increasing of the MRC objective function at each iteration step in a very efficient manner. We show via extensive simulation that the proposed IMO algorithm is not only computationally stable but also reasonably fast. A simple but exact method of calculating the natural frequencies of vibration for some structural members with all edges simply supported and under lateral and in-plane loading, is presented herein. This method uses the deflection influence surfaces which can be obtained by any method for vibration analysis and consists of determining the deflected mode shape of the member due to the inertia force under resonance condition. Beginning with initially guessed mode shape, exact mode shape is obtained by the process similar to iteration. In this paper, equations are given for the case of special orthotropic laminates. However, the same equations can be used for any laminate as long as B16, B26, D16, and D26 are negligible as the number of plies increases and some laminates having such properties are presented. 相似文献

A new method for fabricating porous ceramics and functional fibers was devised. In this work, fine dielectric particles, Al2O3, and conductive particles, LSM (Sr-doped LaMnO3), suspended in gas phase were controlled to form chain aggregates under the action of an electrostatic field. After sintering, the chain aggregates became fiber-like, and a three-dimensional network layer of Al2O3 was obtained. The separation experiment of silica particles from water showed that it had good performance. This process will be simpler than the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method because fine particles are from powder dispersion, not prepared by CVD. This study discusses the finishing characteristics of a magnetic field assisted mechanochemical polishing process using Cr2O3 abrasive mixed with magnetic particles in the case of wet finishing using distilled water, which was proposed for internal finishing of Si3N4 fine ceramic tubes. It was clarified that a highly accurate finishing can be achieved more efficiently in the case of wet finishing using distilled water compared with dry finishing.
