The correlations between structural and optical properties of magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles were analyzed by using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectroscopy. The magnetite was synthesised from the iron sand using NaOH, HCl, and NaCl as a solvent. From the quantitative analysis of XRD spectra, the crystallite size (D), strain (ε), stress (σ), energy deformation (u), porosity, and specific surface area were determined. The Kramers Kronig (K–K) relations was applied to the FTIR spectra to determine the optical properties: refractive index (n), extinction coefficient (k), the complex dielectric function (ε), and the energy loss function (Im(-1/ε)). The uniform strain was produced from the NaOH and HCl as the solvent. The magnetite had higher porosity with NaCl as a solvent and was directly proportional to the optical phonon vibration. We found a perfect correlation; when the difference between two optical phonon increases, the crystallite size decreases, and the strain will be uniform.  相似文献

Despite the successes in the last two decades, the state-of-the-art face detectors still have problems in dealing with images in the wild due to large appearance variations. Instead of leaving appearance variations directly to statistical learning algorithms, we propose a hierarchical part based structural model to explicitly capture them. The model enables part subtype option to handle local appearance variations such as closed and open month, and part deformation to capture the global appearance variations such as pose and expression. In detection, candidate window is fitted to the structural model to infer the part location and part subtype, and detection score is then computed based on the fitted configuration. In this way, the influence of appearance variation is reduced. Besides the face model, we exploit the co-occurrence between face and body, which helps to handle large variations, such as heavy occlusions, to further boost the face detection performance. We present a phrase based representation for body detection, and propose a structural context model to jointly encode the outputs of face detector and body detector. Benefit from the rich structural face and body information, as well as the discriminative structural learning algorithm, our method achieves state-of-the-art performance on FDDB, AFW and a self-annotated dataset, under wide comparisons with commercial and academic methods.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose an album-oriented face-recognition model that exploits the album structure for face recognition in online social networks. Albums, usually associated with pictures of a small group of people at a certain event or occasion, provide vital information that can be used to effectively reduce the possible list of candidate labels. We show how this intuition can be formalized into a model that expresses a prior on how albums tend to have many pictures of a small number of people. We also show how it can be extended to include other information available in a social network. Using two real-world datasets independently drawn from Facebook, we show that this model is broadly applicable and can significantly improve recognition rates.  相似文献

To demonstrate that the inguinal gland odor conveys information on the identity of individuals, 60 male, wild-type rabbits,Oryctolagus cuniculus, living in groups of three in outdoor pens, were used in 120 tests. Members of the groups smeared with the inguinal gland secretion from unfamiliar rabbits were attacked by their penmates. In contrast the odors of chin gland secretions and urine of strange rabbits and of a commercial perfume did not cause serious disruption to the social relationships within the groups.  相似文献

Sea urchin-like nanostructures of ZnO consisting of ZnO nanowires with blunt faceted ends were grown on Si (100) substrates by oxidation of metallic Zn at 600 °C. ZnO nanowires having a diameter of 30–60 nm and length of 2–4 Μm were in similar shape with uniform diameter along its entire length with well faceted blunt ends. X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscope analysis showed that the as-grown nanostructures were highly crystalline with wurtzite hexagonal structure having lattice constants of a=b=3.25 å and c=5.21 å. Room temperature photoluminescence (PL) measurements showed a weak near band-edge emission at 380 nm, but a strong green emission at 500–530 nm. A model for vapor-solid (VS) growth mechanism of ZnO nanowires was presented, in which nucleation of ZnO is crucial for the growth of the nanostructures.  相似文献

The morphological and hydrodynamic properties of a series of homogeneous fractions of substituted poly(methylmethacrylate) (A units) bearing keto-β-functional groups (B units) of the general structureCOCH2R, with R = SOxCH3 (x = 1,2) or SO2N(CH3)2, were investigated by intrinsic viscosity, light scattering and partial specific volume measurements in dimethylformamide (DMF) solution at 25°C. For molar substitution degrees DSm < 0.5, the copolymers behave as flexible random coils. The Stockmayer-Fixman-Yamakawa analysis of the [η]-M?w data leads to slightly higher unperturbed dimensions Ko and steric factor σ than those for PMMA, and to stronger chain expansion as a result of the weak hydrogen bonding between DMF and COCH2R units and a positive XAB interaction parameter. For DSm > 0.5 however, copolymers bearing COCH2SO2N(CH3)2 groups behave as worm-like chains, as derived from the Fujii-Yamakawa analysis of the [η]-M?w-v? data: the persistence length increases from 380 to 570 Å within the DSm range 0.57–0.75. This transition from a random coil to a worm-like chain for DSm > 0.5 was tentatively correlated with the accumulation of B units in sterically hindered and self-associated short blocks of average length lB ? 1.6 which provide drastically increased rigidity to the copolymer chain.  相似文献

Infrared investigations on the interaction of methane with silica, aluminas (, and ) and HZSM-5 zeolite have been carried out. At low temperature (173 K), methane adsorption was observed over these oxides and HZSM-5 zeolite. Our findings featured that the infrared inactive 1 band (2917 cm–1) of a gaseous methane molecule became active and shifted to lower frequencies (2900 and 2890 cm–1) when it adsorbed on the surfaces of these adsorbents. Our results also demonstrate that hydroxyl groups played a very important role in methane adsorption over the acidic oxides and the HZSM-5 zeolite. When interaction between the hydroxyl groups and methane took place, the band shift of the hydroxyl groups varied with different oxides. The strength of the interaction decreased according to the following sequence, Si-OH-Al>Al-OH>Si-OH, which is in accordance with the order of their acidities. At higher temperatures, methane interacted quite differently with various oxides and HZSM-5 zeolite. It has been observed that the hydroxyl groups of silica, -alumina and HZSM-5 zeolite could exchange with CD4 at temperatures higher than 773K, while those on -alumina could exchange at a temperature as low as 573 K. Another interesting observation was the formation of formate species over Al2O3 (both and ) at temperatures higher than 473 K. The formate species would decompose to CO2, or produce carbonate at much higher temperatures. Formation of formate species was not observed over silica and HZSM-5 under similar conditions, -Al2O3 did not adsorb or react with methane in any case.  相似文献

Electrophoretic deposition (EPD) has been gaining increasing interest as an economical and versatile processing technique for the production of novel coatings or films of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) on conductive substrates. The purpose of the paper is to present an up-to-date comprehensive overview of current research progress in the field of EPD of CNTs. The paper specifically reviews the preparation and characterisation of stable CNT suspensions, and the mechanism of the EPD process; it includes discussion of pure CNT coatings and CNT/nanoparticle composite films. A complete discussion of the EPD parameters is presented, including electrode materials, deposition time, electrode separation, deposition voltage and resultant electric field. The paper highlights potential applications of the resulting CNT and CNT/composite structures, in areas such as field emission devices, fuel cells, and supercapacitors.  相似文献

The present investigation describes the quantitative measurement of surface functional groups present on commercially available different PAN based carbon fibers, their effect on the development of interface with resol-type phenol formaldehyde resin matrix and its effect on the physico-mechanical properties of carbon-carbon composites at various stages of heat treatment. An ESCA study of the carbon fibers has revealed that high strength (ST-3) carbon fibers possess almost 10% reactive functional groups as compared to 5.5 and 4.5% in case of intermediate modulus (IM-500) and high modulus (HM-45) carbon fibers, respectively. As a result, ST-3 carbon fibers are in a position to make strong interactions with phenolic resin matrix and HM-45 carbon fibers make weak interactions, while IM-500 carbon fibers make intermediate interactions. This observation is also confirmed from the pyrolysis data (volume shrinkage) of the composites. Bulk density and kerosene density more or less increase in all the composites with heat treatment up to 2600 °C. It is further observed that bulk density is minimum and kerosene density is maximum upon heat treatment at 2600 °C in case of ST-3 based composites compared to HM-45 and IM-500 composites. It has been found for the first time that the deflection temperature (temperature at which the properties of the material start to decrease or increase) of flexural strength as well as interlaminar shear strength is different for the three composites (A, B and C) and is determined by the severity of interactions established at the polymer stage. Above this temperature, flexural strength and interlaminar shear strength increase in all the composites up to 2600 °C. The maximum value of flexural strength at 2600 °C is obtained for HM-45 composites and that of ILSS for ST-3 composites.  相似文献

合成了具有悬挂双键的苯乙烯-二乙烯基苯多孔微球,在悬挂双键处接枝甲基丙烯酸甲酯,制成了一系列不同接枝度的两亲性聚合物多孔微球。考察了悬挂双键数量、反应时间等因素对接枝率的影响以及接枝率对微球形貌的影响。实验中通过观测澄清点,有效地控制了反应后期自加速现象对接枝率的影响。在反应时间25 m in时,制得了平均孔径为50 nm的两亲性多孔微球。将该微球用于对化妆品活性组分的负载,对极性物的负载率比接枝前高出2倍。  相似文献
