The Sanaga River is one of Sub‐Saharan Africa's largest and greatly regulated rivers. Available flow data for this hydrosystem largely cover the pre‐ and post‐regulation periods. From comparisons between unregulated (hypothetical) and observed scenarios, it has been possible to separate and to quantify hydro‐climatic (groundwater + rainfall) change effects from anthropogenic impacts (especially dam‐related alterations). To appreciate shifts in the river regime, discontinuity detection tests and the IHA model were applied to discharge data series reflecting average and extreme flow conditions, respectively. Results obtained principally from the Hubert segmentation method reveal that a major discontinuity occurred in 1970–1971 separating a surplus phase between 1945–1946 and 1969–1970, and a deficient and much contrasted one, from 1971/1972. This implies that the Sanaga catchment is dominantly affected by hydro‐climatic changes. However, wide land cover/land use changes experienced here since 1988 have resulted in an increase in surface runoff. Additional quickflows linked to these changes may have partly compensated for the substantial decline in the dry season rainfall and groundwater inputs observed from this date. Although at the monthly scale, dam‐related impacts on average flows increase with stage of regulation, the seasonal variability of the river regime remains generally unaffected. A comparison of the IHA statistics, calculated from unregulated and observed streamflow data, show that hydrologic shifts occurring in maximum and minimum discharges are mostly significant from 1971/1972 and are mainly due to the action of dams. Minimum flows appear, however, widely impacted, thus reflecting the prime objective assigned to the existing reservoirs, constructed to supplement flows for hydroelectricity production during the dry season. A minimum disparity estimator minimizes a φ-divergence between the marginal density of a parametric model and its non-parametric estimate. This principle is applied to the estimation of stochastic differential equation models, choosing the Hellinger distance as particular φ-divergence. Under an hypothesis of stationarity, the parametric marginal density is provided by solving the Kolmogorov forward equation. A particular emphasis is put on the non-parametric estimation of the sample marginal density which has to take into account sample dependence and kurtosis. A new window size determination is provided. The classical estimator is presented alternatively as a distance minimizer and as a pseudo-likelihood maximizer. The latter presentation opens the way to Bayesian inference. The method is applied to continuous time models of the interest rate. Virtually errorless high speed data processing feature has made computers popular assessment tools in education. An important concern in developing countries considering integrating computers as an educational assessment tool before making substantial investment is the effects of computer-based testing on students’ test scores as compared to paper-and-pencil tests. This study investigated whether test scores of Turkish students were different in the computer-based test and in the paper-and-pencil test, with forty-seven undergraduate students studying at a public university located in the Blacksea region of Turkey. Findings of this study showed that test scores of undergraduate students were not different in the computer-based test and in the paper-and-pencil test which led us to reach the conclusion that computer-based testing can be considered as a promising alternative technique for the undergraduate students in Turkey. 相似文献

This research proposes a physics-informed few-shot learning model to predict the wind pressures on full-scale specimens based on scaled wind tunnel experiments. Existing machine learning approaches in the wind engineering domain are incapable of accurately extrapolating the prediction from scaled data to full-scale data. The model presented in this research, on the other hand, is capable of extrapolating prediction from large-scale or small-scale models to full-scale measurements. The proposed ML model combines a few-shot learning model with the existing physical knowledges in the design standards related to the zonal information. This physical information helps in clustering the few-shot learning model and improves prediction performance. Using the proposed techniques, the scaling issue observed in wind tunnel tests can be partially resolved. A low mean-squared error, mean absolute error, and a high coefficient of determination were observed when predicting the mean and standard deviation wind pressure coefficients of the full-scale dataset. In addition, the benefit of incorporating physical knowledge is verified by comparing the results with a baseline few-shot learning model. This method is the first of its type as it is the first time to extrapolate in wind performance prediction by combining prior physical knowledge with a few-shot learning model in the field of wind engineering. With the benefit of the few-shot learning model, only a low-resolution of the measuring tap configuration is required, and the reliance on physical wind tunnel experiments can be reduced. The physics-informed few-shot learning model is an efficient, robust, and accurate alternate solution to predicting wind pressures on full-scale structures based on various modeled scale experiments. 相似文献

多级孔板泄洪洞是一种利用水流强剪切混掺而实现消能的内消能工形式,而抗空化空蚀性能是影响多级孔板泄洪洞安全运行的重要指标之一。本文以小浪底1号孔板泄洪洞为例,在水力学原型观测资料的基础上系统分析了多级孔板泄洪洞的空化特性,并结合几何比尺为1:40的减压模型试验资料分析了缩尺效应对初生空化数的影响。结果表明:水流空化数对库水位的变化不敏感,而初生空化数则随着库水位的升高而增大,受此影响,库水位越高时各级孔板发生空化水流对应的闸门开度越小;缩尺效应对多级孔板泄洪洞初生空化具有显著影响,经模型试验测得的初生空化数须进行缩尺效应修正;对于多级孔板泄洪洞,其结构尺寸和水流流速是影响初生空化数的主要参数,基于此提出了减压试验初生空化数的缩尺效应修正方法,经与原型观测资料对比,误差小于2%。相关成果利于深化对多级孔板泄洪洞水力特性的认识,有助于多级孔板泄洪洞的推广应用。 相似文献

The objective of this study is to evaluate the approaches to improve the durability and strength of the porous asphalt through laboratory testing. Porous asphalt specimens were prepared using three types of binders: high-viscosity binder (HVB), PG76-22 and PG70-22. Various additives: fibre, hydrated lime and DBS polymer, were utilised in the porous asphalt. Comprehensive laboratory tests, including strength test, binder draindown test, Cantabro abrasion test, moisture susceptibility test, rutting test, thermal stress restrained sample test, and permeability test, were conducted. It is found that HVB significantly improved the overall performance of the porous asphalt; DBS additive improved its high-temperature performance, but lowered the cracking resistance at low temperature as well as the durability; fibre enhanced its durability and anti-cracking performance at low temperature; hydrated lime improved its moisture stability while weakening its durability. It is concluded that HVB and polyester fibre should be used in all porous asphalt; DBS additive is good for porous asphalt in high-temperature areas, and hydrated lime can be added to porous asphalt in rainy areas. 相似文献
