With the increasing popularity of touch screen mobile devices, improving the usability and the user experience while inputting text on these devices is becoming increasingly important. Most conventional touch screen keyboards on mobile devices rely heavily on visual feedback, while auditory feedback seldom includes any useful information about what is being inputted by the user. The auditory feedback usually simply replicates the sounds produced by a physical keyboard. This paper describes the development of an enhanced auditory feedback mechanism for a Korean touch screen keyboard called the enhanced auditory feedback (EAF) mechanism. EAF has subtle phonetic auditory feedback generated using the acoustic phonetic features of human speech. While typing with EAF, users can acquire non-invasive auditory clues about the keys pressed. In this work, we compare conventional auditory feedback for a touch screen keyboard used in touch screen mobile devices with that of EAF and explore the possibility of using enhanced auditory feedback for touch screen keyboards.  相似文献

This paper investigates the synchronization issue of instantaneous coupled harmonic oscillators with communication and input delays. A distributed synchronization algorithm is proposed for such oscillator systems, and some general algebraic criteria on exponential convergence are established for the algorithm. The main contributions of the present investigations include: (i) the directed network topology is first considered in the case of instantaneous interaction; (ii) both the time‐varying communication and input delays are simultaneously addressed; (iii) the effects of communication and input delays on synchronization performance of coupled harmonic oscillators are discussed. It is shown the communication delays have a more important impact than the input delays on determining synchronization dynamics of coupled harmonic oscillators. Explicitly, in absence of communication delays, coupled harmonic oscillators can achieve synchronization oscillatory motion, whereas, so long as communication delays are nonzero at infinite multiple impulsive times, its synchronization (or consensus) state is zero. Finally, numerical examples demonstrate the obtained theoretical results.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Designing a successful library Web site for an engineering audience means researching how engineers find and use information. It also requires the special librarian to conduct usability tests to determine what is and isn't working on the site. The special librarian is more than simply a librarian, he or she must be able to take the research and the test results and either build the Web site or make sure the site is built by a team. The librarian must be able to play several roles: researcher, tester, project leader, and Web manager. The more successful the librarian is at involving users in site design, the more used and usable the site will be. This article describes one librarian's experience with designing a special library Intranet. It also includes an extensive bibliography of related articles.  相似文献

The process undertaken by an information seeker, in order to form relevance decisions regarding documents, is defined as “Document Triage.” To better facilitate users’ needs in their triage activities, interactive interfaces have begun to evolve within on-line academic repositories. In order to complement current work on interface design and interaction, and produce custom guidelines to inform the creation of triage interfaces, we examine how interfaces that alter the document presentation and structure affect information seekers’ visual and navigational attention. 针对开放网络环境下软件协同应用需求,本文提出了一种基于Agent的软件动态协同模型。该模型以软件实体的Agent封装为基础,通过Agent运行时刻重解释以软件体系结构表达的协同逻辑和Agent间的多模式交互技术,实现对动态协同的支持。面向此概念模型,给出了相应的软件动态协同支撑平台Artemis-COOR,该平台在"非侵入式"A-gent封装、多模式交互支撑和软件体系结构动态演化支撑等方面形成了一定的技术特色。最后,给出以水雨情会商系统为例的演示性应用,展示了上述技术的可行性和有效性。  相似文献

A new Mn(II) complex of MnL2Cl2 (L = azino-di(5,6-azafluorene)-κ2-NN′) was synthesized and utilized as an electrochemical indicator for the determination of hepatitis B virus (HBV) based on its interaction with MnL2Cl2. The electrochemical behavior of interaction of MnL2Cl2 with salmon sperm DNA was investigated on glassy carbon electrode (GCE). In the presence of salmon sperm DNA, the peak current of [MnL2]2+ was decreased and the peak potential was shifted positively without appearance of new peaks. The binding ratio between [MnL2]2+ and salmon sperm DNA was calculated to be 2:1 and the binding constant was 3.72 × 108 mol2 L−2. The extent of hybridization was evaluated on the basis of the difference between signals of [MnL2]2+ with probe DNA before and after hybridization with complementary sequence. Control experiments performed with non-complementary and mismatch sequence demonstrated the good selectivity of the biosensor. With this approach, a sequence of the HBV could be quantified over the range from 1.76 × 10−8 to 1.07 × 10−6 mol L−1, with a linear correlation of r = 0.9904 and a detection limit of 6.80 × 10−9 mol L−1. Additionally, the binding mechanism was preliminarily discussed. The mode of interaction between MnL2Cl2 and DNA was found to be primary intercalation binding.  相似文献

So far, most of the applications of robotic technology to education have mainly focused on supporting the teaching of subjects that are closely related to the Robotics field, such as robot programming, robot construction, or mechatronics. Moreover, most of the applications have used the robot as an end or a passive tool of the learning activity, where the robot has been constructed or programmed. In this paper, we present a novel application of robotic technologies to education, where we use the real world situatedness of a robot to teach non-robotic related subjects, such as math and physics. Furthermore, we also provide the robot with a suitable degree of autonomy to actively guide and mediate in the development of the educational activity. We present our approach as an educational framework based on a collaborative and constructivist learning environment, where the robot is able to act as an interaction mediator capable of managing the interactions occurring among the working students. We illustrate the use of this framework by a 4-step methodology that is used to implement two educational activities. These activities were tested at local schools with encouraging results. Accordingly, the main contributions of this work are: i) A novel use of a mobile robot to illustrate and teach relevant concepts and properties of the real world; ii) A novel use of robots as mediators that autonomously guide an educational activity using a collaborative and constructivist learning approach; iii) The implementation and testing of these ideas in a real scenario, working with students at local schools.
