A variety of xenobiotics are taken in the diet and they can interfere with regulatory pathways of drug metabolizing enzymes in humans. This can result in food-drug interactions, which is undesirable clinical situation where drug pharmacokinetics are influenced by dietary compounds. Xenobiotics-mediated food-drug interactions include the induction of drug metabolizing cytochromes P450. The expression of the most important inducible cytochromes CYP1A and CYP3A4 are regulated by xenoreceptors PXR and AhR.We examined extracts from 17 different flavoured ready to drink teas (RDTs) for their capabilities to activate PXR and AhR receptors and to induce CYP3A4 and CYP1A genes. Primary cultures of human hepatocytes and cancer cell lines HepG2 and LS174T were used as in vitro models. Gene reporter assays, RT-PCR and Western blots were performed.We identified three RDTs that induced CYP3A4 mRNA and protein, implying a potential for food-drug interactions. 研究了添加醛类助剂对非木浆二氧化氯漂白的活化效果。在ClO2脱木素(D)段添加1.0%~1.5%的甲醛助剂,可以有效地促进和改善ClO2脱木素的速率和效率。与对照样相比,ClO2脱木素(D)后和碱抽提(DE或DEP)后纸浆的卡伯值均有所降低,ClO2的实际消耗量增大,表明甲醛对ClO2脱木素有较好的活化作用。除了甲醛以外,乙醛、乙二醛、葡萄糖等醛类或醛糖也可以起到一定的活化效果。甲醛的活化效果与未漂浆初始卡伯值的高低有关。未漂浆初始卡伯值越高,甲醛对ClO2脱木素段的活化效果越好。对原浆卡伯值为21.7的烧碱-蒽醌法麦草浆,在D段添加1.5%的甲醛助剂,采用DEPP漂序,可使漂白终点白度达到81.8%,比对照样提高了2.5个点,部分强度指标有所下降。 相似文献

Although many aroma components have been identified in green tea leaves, the aroma compounds contributing to green tea's characteristic odor have not yet been reported. The authors recently reported that aroma components with a matcha-like odor are present in both green tea and black tea prepared from the Sayamakaori tea cuttivar. This matcha-like odor is similar to the odor of commercial available matcha (high-quality powdered green tea), and is a specific odor feature of green tea leaves. At present, the green-tea odor is thought to arise from the combination of a large number of constituents. Recent reports indicate that a complex interaction between olfactory receptors and odorants is important for the evaluation of the odors. Taking into consideration these findings, the authors investigated the aroma profile of green tea, focusing on the characteristic molecular structures of the constituents that give matcha-like odor. Using a combination of organic synthesis and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry plus gas chromatography-olfactometry, the authors identified aroma components with matcha-like odors in five other tea cultivars. This investigation also revealed that several compounds with a formyl group were important constituents of the aroma of green tea leaves, although the odor of each constituent was not individually similar to the tea's overall aroma. This study describes the identification of an aggregation pheromone for the pepper weevil,Anthonomus eugenii and field trials of a synthetic pheromone blend. Volatile collections and gas chromatography revealed the presence of six male-specific compounds. These compounds were identified using chromatographic and spectral techniques as: (Z)-2-(3,3-dimethylcyclohexylidene)ethanol, (E)-2-(3,3-dimethylcyclohexylidene)ethanol, (Z)-(3,3-dimethylcyclohexylidene)acetaldehyde, (E)-(3,3-dimethylcyclohexylidene)acetaldehyde, (E)-3,7-dimethyl-2,6-octadienoic acid (geranic acid), and (E)-3,7-dimethyl-2,6-octadien-1-ol (geraniol). The emission rates of these compounds from feeding males were determined to be about: 7.2, 4.8, 0.45, 0.30, 2.0, and 0.30µg/male/day, respectively. Sticky traps baited with a synthetic blend of these compounds captured more pepper weevils (both sexes) than did unbaited control traps or pheromone-baited boll weevil traps. Commercial and laboratory formulations of the synthetic pheromone were both attractive. However, the commercial formulation did not release geranic acid properly, and geranic acid is necessary for full activity. The pheromones of the pepper weevil and the boll weevil are compared. Improvements for increasing trap efficiency and possible uses for the pepper weevil pheromone are discussed.
