Encapsulation and Ostwald Ripening of Au and Au–Cl Complex Nanostructures in Silica Shells

We report a general template strategy for rational fabrication of a new class of nanostructured materials consisting of multicore shell particles. Our approach is demonstrated by encapsulating Au or Pt nanoparticles in silica shells. Other superstructures of these hollow shells, like dimers, trimers, and tetramers can also be formed by nanoparticle‐mediated self‐assembly. We have also used the as‐prepared multicore Au–silica hollow particles to perform the first studies of Ostwald ripening in confined microspace, in which chloride was found to be an efficient mediating ligand. After treatment with aqua regia, Au–Cl complex is formed inside the shell, and is found to be very active under in situ transmission electron microscopy observations while confined in a microcell. This aspect of the work is expected to motivate further in situ studies of confined crystal growth.     

Growth Defects in Langasite Crystals Observed with White Beam Synchrotron Radiation Topography

Langasite single crystal was grown by the Czochralski method and its perfection was assessed by white beam synchrotron radiation topography. It is found that the growth core and the growth striations are the primary growth defects and they show strong X-ray kinematical contrast in the topographs. Another typical defect in LGS crystal is dislocation. The formation mechanisms of these growth defects in LGS crystals were discussed.     

结构形式对椭圆扁管管内传热与流阻性能影响

利用数值模拟方法结合场协同理论,对直椭圆扁管、单向螺旋椭圆扁管和变向螺旋椭圆扁管管内传热与流动情况进行了数值模拟计算和理论分析,比较研究了不同的Re、Pr下,3种椭圆扁管的管内传热与流阻特性。结果表明,单向螺旋椭圆扁管和变向螺旋椭圆扁管与直椭圆扁管相比有很好的强化传热性能,而变向螺旋椭圆扁管要比单向螺旋椭圆扁管的强化传热性能更好。在管内流体具有高Pr及低Re的条件下,2种螺旋椭圆扁管的强化传热效果显著,可作为很好的强化传热元件应用于工程实际中。

Comments on an article by Eidelson and Eidelson (see record 2003-03645-004) which made an important contribution, at a critical juncture, to the discussion of international conflicts by identifying core dimensions that allow for the systematic examination of the problem. Their article also posed a danger that mirrors a disturbing trend in the public discourse about conflicts and injustice. In response to the recent escalation of international violence and years of mixed results of engagement in debates centered around grievances of injustice (such as the Palestinian-Israeli conflict), many politicians, pundits, and scholars have advocated addressing conflicts by separating them from the underlying grievances and the ongoing injustice. Method for Preparation of Semiconductor Quantum‐Rod Lasers in a Cylindrical Microcavity

An efficient method for preparation of semiconductor quantum rod films for robust lasing in a cylindrical microcavity is reported. A capillary tube, serving as the laser cavity, is filled with a solution of nanocrystals and irradiated with a series of intense nanosecond laser pulses to produce a nanocrystal film on the capillary surface. The films exhibit intense room‐temperature lasing in whispering‐gallery modes that develop at the film–capillary interface as corroborated from the spacing detected for the lasing modes. Good lasing stability is observed at moderate pump powers. The method was applied successfully to several quantum‐rod samples of various sizes.     

砾岩储层精细描述中标准测井资料的应用

克拉玛依油田七区的标准测井资料是指使用标准电极系视电阻率测井、自然电位测井和井径测井,以相同的1:500深度比例尺及相同的横向比例进行测井作业所取得的资料.这种资料本来并不具备定量解释储层孔隙度和含油饱和度的能力,但这种资料占该区测井资料总量的比率高达34%.利用标准电极系视电阻率资料和岩心分析资料建立了视电阻率-岩性图版,利用自然电位减小系数α和岩心孔隙度分析资料φ建立了α-φ图版,根据综合测井资料求出标准测井视电阻率校正系数,进而确定了饱和度计算方程的参数.与相应的综合测井资料计算结果相对比,用该方法得到的孔隙度平均绝对误差及相对误差分别为1.85%和11.88%;含油饱和度平均绝对误差及相对误差分别为9.08%和24.75%.将该方法有选择地应用到该区砾岩储层精细描述研究中,弥补了缺乏综合测井资料无法进行测井储层评价及参数研究的缺陷.     

浇筑式沥青混凝土心墙型式改进的建议

本文根据浇筑式沥青混凝土主、副心墙材料的性能，分折了沥青混凝土心墙施工或运行中破坏的原因，建议用编织一无纺复合布取代预制块，以避免主、副心墙材料变形性能相差悬残对心墙运行的不利影响，从而发挥浇筑式沥青混凝土心墙的优越性。     

Development of geometrically exact new shell elements based on general curvilinear co‐ordinates

In the present study first‐order shear deformable shell finite elements based on general curvilinear co‐ordinates are proposed. For the development of the present shell elements, a partial mixed variational functional with independently assumed strains is provided in order to avoid the severe locking troubles known as transverse shear and membrane lockings. Bubble functions are included in the shape function of displacement to improve the performance of the developed element. The proposed assumed strain four‐ and nine‐node elements based on the general tensor shell theory provide an efficient linkage framework for shell surface modelling and finite element analysis. In the several benchmark problems, the present shell elements with exact geometric representations demonstrate their performance compared to previously reported results. Range of the Applicability of the Wilkins Method to the Investigation of the Dynamic Stress-Strain State of Anisotropic Elastic Axisymmetric Shells

The exactness and stability of the Wilkins method in the investigation of the stress-strain state of axisymmetric anisotropic elastic shells, including thick-walled ones, have been studied for different values of artificial viscosity, pulse load rise and fall time, and different deformation process durations. A comparison of numerical calculations, performed by means of an application software package developed by V. A. Romashchenko on the basis of the Wilkins method, with experimental results, known numerical data, and with calculations using the computation kernel LS-DYNA 3D has been carried out.
