If a low weight percentage of crude fine fillers can improve properties of polymer materials directly without complicated chemical treatment process involved, it will be significant for many industrial applications. Our previous study indicated that a kind of Cancun natural sand could be an effective filler material for polymer composites. In this current work, the epoxy composites reinforced by this kind of natural sand particles were prepared and thermal and mechanical properties of the composites containing up to 5 wt % of the sand particles were characterized. Results showed that the highest flexural strength appears in the epoxy composite containing 1 wt % sand particles. A damage model was used to interpret the flexural properties, which showed an acceptable agreement with the experimental results. The glass transition temperature, high temperature storage modulus, and dimensional stability of the sand/epoxy composites monotonically increased with the addition of the sand particles. The sand particle/epoxy composites also displayed a noticeable enhancement in thermal conductivity. Theoretical analysis showed that in addition to conduction, other heat transport mechanisms played roles in the improved heat transmission through the composites. As a natural porous micron-scale material, Cancun sand has the potential for applications in cost-effective composites with enhanced mechanical and thermal properties. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 本文提出一种用“整体浇注法”制做三维牙——颌骨光弹性模型的新方法,即用价格便宜的石膏做阴模,先制出与真实牙几何相似的牙光弹性模型和模拟牙周膜的乳胶套,将它们粘接好,然后将其放入颌骨石膏阴模的适当位置,浇入环氧树脂混合液,用“二次固化法”进行固化,即可制成三维牙——颌骨整体光弹性模型。此法能保证模型与实物的严格几何相似和牙周的边界条件相似,使实验精度大大提高且工艺简单、成本低。 相似文献

The magnesium (Mg) alloy low-pressure expendable pattern casting (EPC) process is a newly developed casting technique combining
the advantages of both EPC and low-pressure casting. In this article, metal filling and the effect of the flow quantity of
inert gas on the filling rate in the low-pressure EPC process are investigated. The results showed that the molten Mg alloy
filled the mold cavity with a convex front laminar flow and the metal-filling rate increased significantly with increasing
flow quantity when flow quantity was below a critical value. However, once the flow quantity exceeded a critical value, the
filling rate increased slightly. The influence of the flow quantity of inert gas on melt-filling rate reveals that the mold
fill is controlled by flow quantity for a lower filling rate, and, subsequently, controlled by the evaporation of polystyrene
and the evaporation products for higher metal velocity. Meanwhile, the experimental results showed that the melt-filling rate
significantly affected the flow profile, and the filling procedure for the Mg alloy in the low-pressure EPC process. A slower
melt-filling rate could lead to misrun defects, whereas a higher filling rate results in folds, blisters, and porosity. The
optimized filling rate with Mg alloy casting is 140 to 170 mm/s in low-pressure EPC. 相似文献

Combined with theoretical evaluation,an optimized strengthening process for the semi-solid die castings of A356 aluminum alloy was obtained by studying the mechanical properties of castings solution treated and aged under different conditions in detail,then,the semi-solid die castings and liquid die castings were heat treated with the optimized process.The results show that the mechanical properties of semi-solid die castings of aluminum alloy are superior to those of the liquid die castings,especially the strengthening degree of heat treated semi-solid die castingsis much greater than that of liquid die castings with the tensile strength more than 330 MPa and the elongation more than 10%,and this is mainly contributed to the non-dendritic and more compact microstructure of semi-solid die castings.The strengthening mechanism of heat treatment for the semi-solid die castings of A356 aluminum alloy is due to the dispersive precipitation of the second phase(Mg2 Si) and formation of GP Zone. 相似文献
