The objectives of this article is to propose a new drying model for the second falling rate period known as the variable diffusion controlled period that follows after the first falling rate period and to propose a new method to determine the second critical moisture content that separates these two periods. Experimental work on paddy drying at minimum fluidization velocity was carried out in a rapid bin dryer. The effects of operating temperatures (60-120°C) and bed depths (2-6 cm) on the paddy drying characteristics were investigated. It was found that the normalized drying rate of paddy was proportional to the normalized moisture content in the first falling rate period but in the second falling rate period, the normalized drying rate of the material varies exponentially with the normalized moisture content. The different relationship between the normalized drying rate and the normalized moisture content in the first and second falling rate periods indicate that two different mechanism of moisture transport are at work. The new exponential model of the second falling rate period and the linear model of the first falling rate period were found to fit the experimental data very well. Derivation from variable diffusion equation shows that the linear model is the result of constant diffusion coefficient whereas the new exponential model is the result of linear diffusion coefficient. This also implies that the first falling rate period is a constant diffusion controlled period and the second falling rate period is a variable diffusion controlled period. In addition, drying kinetics data of a drying process that fits the exponential model over a very slow drying period will show that the drying process is under the effect of a linear diffusion coefficient. It was also found that the proposed new method to determine the second critical moisture content that distinguishes between the first and second falling rate periods by using a sudden change in the value of the drying rate gradient to a much lower value at that point is more rigorous and yet simpler than the method of determining the specific location of the receding drying boundary since it is based on the behavior of the actual drying kinetic data. 相似文献

本文以单项工程为研究对象,以隧洞工程为例,研究了单项工程施工所需用的时间。文中以施工单位所具有的资源,结合施工工作环境、作业空间为约束条件,以费用最小为目标函数,建立了优化模型。由资源的工作性能指标,利用模糊数学原理,对资源间的匹配程度作了定量分析,并进一步推出了不同匹配程度的资源对作业时间的影响的计算式。并从影响各工序完工时间的因素的随机性出发,利用数理统计理论,由各工序的细分活动的规律推出了各工序的完工需用时间的概率表达式,解决了工期与置信度间的关系。最后结合工程实例,求出了一定置信度下,不同资源供应时的最优工期。 相似文献

为了在考虑疲劳损伤和恢复性能的基础上,获取路面结构在重复荷载作用下的疲劳特征,采用离散元方法建立了路面结构模型,并分析了在正弦重复荷载作用下路面结构沥青层底部的受力特性.由于路面荷载的随机性,分别以荷载大小、荷载间歇时间、荷载作用次序为考察对象,分析其对路面结构沥青层底受力特征的影响.研究结果表明:随着周期荷载作用次数的增大,沥青层底部拉应力快速增大至某一基础值,并在此基础值附近呈周期性波动,拉应变则在以一定幅值波动的同时,呈现整体水平先急剧增大后缓慢增大的规律;延长荷载作用的间歇时间,虽然一定程度上增大了拉应力和拉应变的波动幅值,但却显著降低了沥青层底拉应力和拉应变的整体水平;不同的荷载作用次序在沥青层底引起的应力应变状态不同,从小至大序列的荷载对沥青层造成的损伤明显小于从大至小序列的荷载. 相似文献

The suitability of computational simulation of the Belousov–Zhabotinskii oscillating chemical reaction by differential kinetic methodology for resolving nonlinear multi-component system is demonstrated in this work. According to the Field–KÖrÖs–Noyes mechanism and the Oregonator model, the change of the concentrations of HBrO2, bromide ion and cerium ion are simulated. The results of computational simulation are consistent with experimental results very well. At the same time, the effect of variables and parameters, especially the rate constant on the oscillation curve, are investigated deeply. A simple method of estimating rate constants is obtained through simulation the concentrations of key components of the system, and then comparison the simulation results with the experimental ones. Reptiles represent an interesting animal model to investigate the influence of temperature on molecular circadian clocks. The ruin lizard Podarcis sicula lives in a continental climate and it is subjected to wide range of environmental temperatures during the course of the year. As consequence, ruin lizard daily activity pattern includes either the hibernation or periods of inactivity determined by hypothermia. Here we showed the rhythmic expression of two clock genes, lPer2 and lClock, in the liver of active lizards exposed to summer photo-thermoperiodic conditions. Interestingly, the exposition of lizards to hypothermic conditions, typical of winter season, induced a strong dampening of clock genes mRNA rhythmicity with a coincident decrease of levels. We also examined the qualitative and quantitative distribution of lPER2 and lCLOCK protein in different cellular compartments during the 24-h cycle. In the liver of active lizards both proteins showed a rhythmic expression profile in all cellular compartments. After 3 days at 6 degrees C, some temporal fluctuations of the lCLOCK and lPER2 are still detectable, although, with some marked modifications in respect to the values detected in the liver of active lizards. Besides demonstrating the influence of low temperature on the lizard liver circadian oscillators, present results could provide new essential information for comparative studies on the influence of temperature on the circadian system across vertebrate classes. 相似文献
