The effectiveness of a slowly soluble source of phosphate relative to a soluble source may decrease with increasing levels of application. This may cause yields to approach a lower asymptote. Four methods for measuring this effect are compared using field experiments in which a calcined rock phosphate (Calciphos) was compared with superphosphate for growth of subterranean clover. The methods were: subjective estimates using a hand drawn calibration curve; objective estimates using a fitted calibration curve; objective estimates using the fit of separate response curves; and objective estimates from the fit of a common response surface in which relative effectiveness was related to level of application. The role of these four methods differs. The first method, though often informative, is suitable only for an initial inspection of the data. The other three methods may all be useful for analysis but the fourth method was the most general. It gave the most sensitive statistical test and had the further advantage that it was a direct test of the hypothesis. All four methods showed that the relative effectiveness of Calciphos decreased with increasing levels of application. 相似文献

The influence of clay added to Khouribga phosphate rock during the dissolution with nitric acid in the nitrophosphate process, upon the filterability of gypsum (calcium sulphate dihydrate) was studied. The precipitation of the acidulate with an aqueous ammonium sulphate containing solution was investigated in a continuously operated bench scale reactor system. It was found that the filtration time of a gypsum-crystals-containing filter cake with a height of 50 mm could be reduced by up to a factor of 5 by adding approximately 0.5 percent by weight clay in relation to the amount of phosphate ore. Based on our experiments we can calculate that the addition of clay in the range 0.4–3 percent by weight to the phosphate ore can increase the production capacity of a rotary tilting-pan filter system for separation of the gypsum from the mother liquor by more than a factor of two. Moreover because in this range of clay concentrations the capacity becomes almost constant we may conclude that for this system the production capacity is relatively insensitive to fluctuations in the clay dosage system. 相似文献

The phosphated hot-dip galvanized (HDG) sheets were post-sealed with sodium molybdate solution to improve the corrosion resistance of phosphate coatings. The morphology, chemical composition and corrosion resistance of the coatings were investigated using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), Tafel polarization measurements and neutral salt spray (NSS) tests, and were compared with those of the single coatings. The results show that post-sealing the phosphated HDG steel with molyhdate solution, the pores among the zinc phosphate crystals are sealed with molybdate films containing Zn, P, O and Mo, and the continuous composite coatings are formed. The suppression of both the anodic and the cathodic processes of zinc corrosion on the samples are enhanced significantly. The synergistic corrosion protection effect of the single phosphate coatings and molybdate films for zinc is evident. The corrosion resistance of the composite coatings increases with phosphating time up to 300 s. 相似文献
