We have developed a zero‐shear viscous model in terms of temperature‐ and pressure‐dependent hole fraction computed from Simha‐Somcynsky Hole Theory. This model successfully interprets the viscosity data of PS, PP, and ABS as a function of hole fraction for a broad range of temperature and pressure. We have also introduced and discussed a new term: Viscoholibility; the derivative of logarithm of viscosity with respect to hole fraction. When the hole fraction takes highest available value, the viscoholibility approaches asymptotically to a constant value by which the viscosity changes linearly with the hole fraction. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Current robot programming approaches lack the intuitiveness required for quick and simple applications. As new robotic applications are being identified, there is a greater need to be able to programme robots safely and quickly. This paper discusses the use of an augmented reality (AR) environment for facilitating intuitive robot programming, and presents a novel methodology for planning collision-free paths for an n-d.o.f. (degree-of-freedom) manipulator in a 3D AR environment. The methodology is interactive because the human is involved in defining the free space or collision-free volume (CFV), and selecting the start and goal configurations. The methodology uses a heuristic beam search algorithm to generate the paths. A number of possible scenarios are discussed. 相似文献

ABSTRACT Heating weak bread flours (commercial cookie flour; commercial stone‐milled bread flour; Fundulea, a weak bread cultivar) at 80°C for 15 min had a positive effect on bread volume (P < 0.05). This positive effect was best seen when ascorbic acid was removed from bread formulation. Crumb springiness and fineness of grain, but not crumb hardness, were significantly improved after flour heating; cohesiveness improved with heated cookie flour (P < 0.05). After heating, flour a‐amylase content was lower; dough‐mixing stability of cookie flour doubled to 7.1 min but dropped from 18.0 to 4.8 min with standard bread flour. Heating offers possibility to upgrade substandard flour for bread‐making applications, especially in oxidant‐free dough system. 相似文献

A method is described for measuring the volume of individual specimens of Amoeba proteus which utilizes an easily constructed compressor to flatten the specimen to a known thickness. The microscopic image of the flattened specimen is captured on tape, digitized and analysed with the NIH Image software. The results from one specimen are given to illustrate the sources and magnitude of errors affecting these volume measurements. 相似文献

In the past few years, there have been key advances in the three main approaches to the visualization of volumetric data: isosurfacing, slicing and volume rendering, which together make up the field of volume visualization.
In this survey paper we set the scene by describing the fundamental techniques for each of these approaches, using this to motivate the range of advances which have evolved over the past few years.
In isosurfacing, we see how the original marching cubes algorithm has matured, with improvements in robustness, topological consistency, accuracy and performance. In the performance area, we look in detail at pre-processing steps which help identify data which contributes to the particular isosurface required. In slicing too, there are performance gains from identifying active cells quickly.
In volume rendering, we describe the two main approaches of ray casting and projection. Both approaches have evolved technically over the past decade, and the holy grail of real-time volume rendering has arguably been reached.
The aim of this review paper is to pull these developments together in a coherent review of recent advances in volume visualization. 相似文献

A novel finite volume (FV) based discretization method for determining displacement, strain and stress distributions in loaded two dimensional structures with complex geometries is presented. The method incorporates rotation variables in addition to the displacement degrees of freedom employed in earlier FV based structural analysis procedures and conventional displacement based finite element (FE) formulations. The method is used to predict the displacement fields in a number of test cases for which solutions are already available. The effect of mesh refinement upon the accuracy of the solutions predicted by the method is assessed. The results of this assessment indicate that the new method is more accurate than previous FV procedures incorporating displacement variables only, particularly in cases where bending is the predominant mode of deformation, and therefore the new method represents a significant advance in the development of this type of discretization procedure. Interestingly, the results of the accuracy assessment exercise also indicate that the new FV procedure is also more accurate than the equivalent FE formulation incorporating displacement and rotational degrees of freedom. 相似文献
