We consider multigrid methods for problems in linear elasticity which are robust with respect to the Poisson ratio. Therefore,
we consider mixed approximations involving the displacement vector and the pressure, where the pressure is approximated by
discontinuous functions. Then, the pressure can be eliminated by static condensation. The method is based on a saddle point
smoother which was introduced for the Stokes problem and which is transferred to the elasticity system. The performance and
the robustness of the multigrid method are demonstrated on several examples with different discretizations in 2D and 3D. Furthermore,
we compare the multigrid method for the saddle point formulation and for the condensed positive definite system.

Summary The Boundary Element Tearing and Interconnecting (BETI) methods were recently introduced as boundary element counterparts
of the well established Finite Element Tearing and Interconnecting (FETI) methods. Here we combine the BETI method preconditioned
by the projector to the “natural coarse grid” with recently proposed optimal algorithms for the solution of bound and equality
constrained quadratic programming problems in order to develop a theoretically supported scalable solver for elliptic multidomain
boundary variational inequalities such as those describing the equilibrium of a system of bodies in mutual contact. The key
observation is that the “natural coarse grid” defines a subspace that contains the solution, so that the preconditioning affects
also the non-linear steps. The results are validated by numerical experiments.

ABSTRACTThe aim of the work is to develop a new formulation in order to stabilize a nutraceutical enzyme Nattokinase (NKCP) in powders and to control its release rate when it passes through the gastrointestinal tract of human. NKCP powders were first compacted into a tablet, which was then coated with a mixture of an enteric material Eudragit® L100-55 (EL100-55) and Hydroxypropylcellulose (HPC) by direct compression. The activity of the enzyme was determined using amidolytic assay and its release rates in artificial gastric juice and an intestinal fluid were quantified using bicinchoninic acid assay. Results have shown that the activity of NKCP was pressure independent and the coated tablets protected NKCP from being denatured in the gastric juice, and realized its controlled release to the intestine based on in vitro experiments. 相似文献

The acronym IBIC (ion beam induced charge) was coined in the early 1990s to indicate a scanning microscopy technique which uses MeV ion beams as probes to image the basic electronic properties of semiconductor materials and devices. Since then, IBIC has become a widespread analytical technique to characterize materials for electronics or for radiation detection, as testified by more than 200 papers published so far in peer-reviewed journals. Its success stems from the valuable information IBIC can provide on charge transport phenomena occurring in finished devices, not easily obtainable by other analytical techniques. However, IBIC analysis requires a robust theoretical background to correctly interpret experimental data. In order to illustrate the importance of using a rigorous mathematical formalism, we present in this paper a benchmark IBIC experiment aimed to test the validity of the interpretative model based on the Gunn’s theorem and to provide an example of the analytical capability of IBIC to characterize semiconductor devices. 相似文献
