部分种子成分的特征X射线在等效生物材料中衰减的测定

用Ｓｉ（Ｌｉ）探测器实现了Ｎａ、Ｍｇ、Ｓ、Ｃｌ的特征Ｘ射线在有机膜中的相对衰减以及与Ｏ、Ｋ元素的特征Ｘ射线能量相当的Ｘ射线或轫致辐射在有机膜中的相对衰减，分别得出了它们减的数学描述，并把实验得到不同能量的Ｘ射线在有机膜中的质量吸收系数与Ｂｅｒｋｅｌｅｙ的ＯＣＧ软件计算出的结果相比，相关都小于３０％。     

Significance of fluid regime in biological filtration

A dispersed flow model previously developed to study substrate utilization in unsaturated media was experimentally verified and its practical application was considered. For this purpose, measurements were made using tap water and a synthetic feed solution. The importance of the change in fluid regime as regards to the simultaneous transport and reaction within biological filters were demonstrated. The effect of drop formation and the breakage of liquid jets inside the filters on substrate utilization was also shown.     

Phase equilibria of crude oils using the continuous thermodynamics approach

This paper deals with the application of continuous thermodynamics to light and heavy oil systems using the Peng- Robinson equation of state. The composition of the high molar mass components in a reservoir oil is described by a continuous distribution function of some characterizing quantity, e.g. molar mass or boiling temperature. Numerical Gaussian quadrature methods are used to generate pseudo-components and their mole fractions from distribution data. Several examples are presented for phase equilibria of solvent/crude oil systems. The results showed that semi-infinite distribution functions, such as the Γ function, cannot be applied to all cases, e.g. dew point calculations. The Gauss- Legendre quadrature method coupled with spline fitting worked best for heavy oil systems.

利用垂直管流公式,结合流体相平衡热力学闪蒸计算,运用状态方程模拟,给出凝析气井井筒动态预测新方法.根据该方法.结合油藏数值模拟计算的结果,可准确地预测不同生产时期凝析气井的井筒动态.     

热致液晶性纤维素衍生物及其热塑性塑料复合物熔体流变行为的研究

用毛细管流变仪研究了乙基纤维素（ＥＣ）及其高密度聚乙烯（ＨＤＰＥ）复合物，纤维素芳族酯（ＣＡＥ）及其聚碳酸酯（ＰＣ）复合物的剪切流变特性和机理。结果表明，ＥＣ对ＨＤＰＥ／ＥＣ复合物的粘度影响不大，而少量（５％）ＣＡＥ的加入使ＰＣ／ＣＡＥ复合物粘度大大下降，且复合物流变曲线呈现新的特征。     

Distinguished Scientific Awards for an Early Career Contribution to Psychology.

The Early Career Awards recognize the large number of excellent young psychologists. Recipients of this award may not have held a PhD for more than nine years. The areas considered in 1991 were animal learning and behavior, developmental, and personality. The winners for 1991 were Kent C. Berridge, Susan A. Gelman, and Randy J. Larsen. 航空齿轮表面硬化层断裂性能研究

按照航空齿轮的具体工艺过程，对材料12Cr2Ni4A的拉伸试样和断裂试样进行设计和加工，通过三点弯曲实验，重点研究了齿轮材料硬化层的硬度分布，硬化试样拉伸力学性能参数和断裂性能参数，实验结果表明，所采用试样的加工工艺方案是可行的，所获得的Kc基本反映我国航空硬化齿轮材料的断裂性能特征，为定量预测航空硬化齿轮疲劳寿命提供实验和理论分析的依据。     

Relative Contributions of the Male and the Female to Sexual Behavior and Reproductive Success in the Japanese Quail (Coturnix japonica).

Two contrasting investigative techniques provided evidence consistent with the interpretation that female quail (Coturnix japonica) regulate male copulatory behavior by the duration of their immobility and through this behavioral mechanism they also control the rate of fertilization of their eggs. In Experiment 1, copulation tests with males and females from different genetic lines showed that the type of female that participated in a copulatory test significantly influenced the latency of the male's grab, mount, and cloacal contact responses and also determined the efficiency of the male's copulatory behavior. These measures of male performance were correlated with female immobility in Experiment 2, which used a more homogeneous population of quail. Furthermore, 2 of these measures (copulatory efficiency and the latency to make cloacal contact) were correlated with fertilization rate. An investigation into the occurrence of sewage fungus in rivers containing papermill effluents—IV. Growth in experimental channels dosed with effluents and pure compounds

Wastewaters from the manufacture of pulp and paper have given rise to problems of excessive microbial growth in rivers over a number of years. This paper is the first in a series of four articles describing research undertaken by PIRA at four U.K. paper/board mills (one integrated with pulp production) over the period 1978–1980. This first paper briefly reviews the published literature on sewage fungus growth from pulp and paper mill discharges up to 1978, but mainly describes previously unpublished work undertaken by PIRA over the period 1965–1975. This introductory paper thus provides a state-of-the-art review of methods to control sewage fungus growth from pulp and paper mill effluents prior to commencement of the research described in the following three articles.
