According to the suitable assumption, the deformation process of external spline cold rolling is analyzed. By the graphing method, the slip-line field of plastically deforming area in process of external spline cold rolling is set up. Different friction-conditions are used in different contact areas in order to realistically reflect the actual situation. The unit average pressure on contact surface of the rolling process is solved according to the stress filed theory of slip-line. And the formulae of the rolling-force and rolling-moment are established. The theoretical result is well consistent with the finite element analysis. A theoretical basis is provided for the precise forming process of spline cold rolling and the production of external splined shafts.  相似文献

Both hardware and software prefetching have been shown to be effective in tolerating the large memory latencies inherent in shared-memory multiprocessors; however, both types of prefetching have their shortcomings. While software schemes require less hardware support than hardware schemes, they must generate address calculation instructions and a prefetch instruction for each datum that needs to be prefetched. Hardware schemes, however, must become progressively more complex to be able to compute data access strides and to increase the prefetching lookahead. In this paper, we propose an integrated hardware/software prefetching method that uses simple hardware that can handle most data accesses and software prefetching for the few remaining accesses. A compile time algorithm analyzes the access streams formed by array references and determines sequences of consecutive memory accesses to an access stream that can be prefetched by the hardware mechanism. This analysis is based on the relative memory locations of consecutive accesses to an access stream and the number of intervening data references between consecutive accesses to an access stream. In addition, the prefetching lookahead can be set separately for each access stream. Our approach yields an effective scheme that minimizes both CPU overhead and hardware costs. Execution-driven simulations show our method to be very effective.  相似文献

The damage parameters for crack initiation in a single lap joint (SLJ) are determined by combining continuous damage mechanics, finite element analysis (FEA) and experimental fatigue data. Even though a SLJ has a simple configuration, the stresses in the adhesive region are quite complex and exhibit multi-axial states. Such a condition leads to the need to introduce a general value for the triaxiality function in the damage evolution law rather than using a triaxiality function which equals unity, as in the case of a uni-axial stress state, e.g., the bulk adhesive test specimen presented in Part 1 of this paper. The effect of stress singularity, due to the presence of corners at edges, also contributes to the complex state of stress and to the variability of the triaxiality function along the adhesive layer in a SLJ. The damage parameters A and β determined in Part 1 for bulk adhesive are now extended to take into account the multi-axial stress state in the adhesive layer, as calculated from FEA.  相似文献

The stress variations in butt adhesive joints of dissimilar hollow cylinders subjected to impact tensile loadings are analyzed in elastic and elasto-plastic deformation ranges using a finite element method (FEM). The FEM code name employed is DYNA3D. The effects of Young's modulus ratio between dissimilar adherends and the adhesive thickness on the stress variations at the interfaces are examined. In addition, the process of rupture at the interfaces of the joint is simulated. The stress distributions in the joints under static loadings are also analyzed by FEM. The characteristics of the stress variations in the joints under impact loadings are compared with those in the joints under static loadings. Also, the joint strengths under impact loadings are estimated by elasto-plastic FEM. It is found that the maximum value of the maximum principal stress σ 1 occurs at the outside edge of the lower interface. It is also found that the maximum principal stress σ 1 at the lower interface decreases as the adhesive thickness increases. The characteristics of the joints under impact loadings are found to be opposite to those under static loadings. Furthermore, differences in the characteristics of the stress variations are shown between the dissimilar joints and the similar joints. In addition, the experiments were carried out to measure the strain response and strains in the butt adhesive joints under both impact and static loadings using strain gauges. Furthermore, joint strengths under both impact and static loadings were measured. Fairly good agreements are observed between the numerical and the measured results.  相似文献

Using dielectric barrier discharges (DBDs) in suitable gas atmospheres, appreciable densities of amino groups can be generated on polymer surfaces. After the introduction and a few remarks on analytical methods for the determination of functional groups densities, this paper presents a short summary of recent studies on the mechanism of the polymer surface amination from nitrogen and nitrogen/hydrogen mixtures, and possible relevant precursor species. Combination of chemical derivatization with quantitative FT-IR spectroscopy was employed for the determination of primary amino groups densities introduced on polyolefin surfaces in DBD afterglows in N2 and N2 + H2 mixtures. Owing to the possibility to generate atmospheric-pressure plasmas in sub-mm3 volumes, DBD plasmas can be used to modify polymer surfaces area selectively: a new process termed 'plasma printing' can be applied for the achievement of micropatterned surface modifications, such as hydrophilization/hydrophobization or chemical functionalization. Direct-patterning polymer surface modification processes are of interest for biochemical/biomedical applications as well as for polymer electronics. Two examples are presented in more detail: ? the area-selective plasma amination of carbon-filled polypropylene minidiscs to manufacture microarrays with peptide libraries utilizing parallel combinatorial chemical synthesis, and ?the continuous treatment of polymer foils by means of reel-to-reel patterned plasma amination for the subsequent electroless copper metallization, leading to a fast and highly efficient process for the manufacture of structured metallizations for flexible printed circuits or RFID antennas.  相似文献

One of the major difficulties in designing adhesive lap joints is the stress singularity present at the adherend corners at the ends of the overlap. One way to overcome this problem is to assume that the corners have a certain degree of rounding. The objective of the present study was to better understand the effect of the change in the geometry of the adherend corners on the stress distribution and, therefore, on the joint strength. Various degrees of rounding were studied and two different types of adhesives were used, one very brittle and another which could sustain a large plastic deformation. The study gives a detailed stress and strain distribution around the rounded adherends using the finite element method. The major finding is that the stresses or strains in the adhesive layer of a joint with rounded adherend corners are finite. In real joints, adherends generally have small rounded corners. Consequently, the model with small radius corners may be used to represent real adherends.  相似文献

Adhesive bonding of components has become more efficient in recent years due to the developments in adhesive technology, which has resulted in higher peel and shear strengths, and also in allowable ductility up to failure. As a result, fastening and riveting methods are being progressively replaced by adhesive bonding, allowing a big step towards stronger and lighter unions. However, single-lap bonded joints still generate substantial peel and shear stress concentrations at the overlap edges that can be harmful to the structure, especially when using brittle adhesives that do not allow plasticization in these regions. In this work, a numerical and experimental study is performed to evaluate the feasibility of bending the adherends at the ends of the overlap for the strength improvement of single-lap aluminium joints bonded with a brittle and a ductile adhesive. Different combinations of joint eccentricity were tested, including absence of eccentricity, allowing the optimization of the joint. A Finite Element stress and failure analysis in ABAQUS® was also carried out to provide a better understanding of the bent configuration. Results showed a major advantage of using the proposed modification for the brittle adhesive, but the joints with the ductile adhesive were not much affected by the bending technique.  相似文献
