The large-deflection elastic analysis of slender beam-columns of symmetrical cross sections with semirigid connections under end loads (forces and moments) including the effects of out-of-plumbness is developed in a classical manner. The classical theory of the “Elastica” and the corresponding elliptical functions are utilized in the proposed method which can be used in the large-deflection stability analysis of slender beam-columns with rigid, semirigid, and simple connections under any combination of end loads (conservative and nonconservative). The proposed method consisting of a closed-form solution of the Elastica can also be utilized in the large deflection analysis of beam-columns whose connections suffer from flexural degradation or, on the contrary, flexural stiffening. The main limitation of the Elastica is that only flexural strains are considered (the effects of axial and shear strains are neglected). Therefore results from the proposed method are theoretically exact from small to very large curvatures and transverse and longitudinal displacements for plane beam-columns under bending actions. The large-deflection analysis of a beam-column with flexible connections at both ends becomes a complex problem requiring the simultaneous solution of at least two highly nonlinear equations with elliptical integrals. The solution of this problem becomes even more complex when the end connections are nonlinear or the direction of the applied end load changes (like “follower” loads). The validity and effectiveness of the proposed method and equations are verified against available solutions of very large deflection elastic analysis of beam-columns. A new exact method for the analysis of free flexural vibrations of non-uniform multi-step Euler–Bernoulli beams carrying an arbitrary number of single-degree-of-freedom and two-degree-of-freedom spring–mass systems is presented in this paper. The closed-form solutions for free vibrations of non-uniform Euler–Bernoulli beams are derived for five important cases. Then, using the massless equivalent springs to replace the spring–mass systems and the fundamental solutions developed in this paper, the frequency equation for free flexural vibrations of a multi-step non-uniform beam with any kind of support configurations and carrying an arbitrary number of spring–mass systems can be conveniently established from a second-order determinant. Large wind turbine blades are being developed at lengths of 75–100 m, in order to improve energy capture and reduce the cost of wind energy. Bending loads in the inboard region of the blade make large blade development challenging. The “biplane blade” design was proposed to use a biplane inboard region to improve the design of the inboard region and improve overall performance of large blades. This paper focuses on the design of the internal “biplane spar” structure for 100-m biplane blades. Several spars were designed to approximate the Sandia SNL100-00 blade (“monoplane spar”) and the biplane blade (“biplane spar”). Analytical and computational models are developed to analyze these spars. The analytical model used the method of minimum total potential energy; the computational model used beam finite elements with cross-sectional analysis. Simple load cases were applied to each spar and their deflections, bending moments, axial forces, and stresses were compared. Similar performance trends are identified with both the analytical and computational models. An approximate buckling analysis shows that compressive loads in the inboard biplane region do not exceed buckling loads. A parametric analysis shows biplane spar configurations have 25–35% smaller tip deflections and 75% smaller maximum root bending moments than monoplane spars of the same length and mass per unit span. Root bending moments in the biplane spar are largely relieved by axial forces in the biplane region, which are not significant in the monoplane spar. The benefits for the inboard region could lead to weight reductions in wind turbine blades. Innovations that create lighter blades can make large blades a reality, suggesting that the biplane blade may be an attractive design for large (100-m) blades. 相似文献

The ITER Neutral Beam cell will include a suite of Remote Handling equipment for maintenance tasks. This paper summarises the current status and recent developments in the design of the ITER Neutral Beam Remote Handling System. Its concept design was successfully completed in July 2012 by CCFE in the frame of a grant agreement with F4E, in collaboration with the ITER Organisation, including major systems like monorail crane, Beam Line Transporter, beam source equipment, upper port and neutron shield equipment and associated tooling. A study of port plug distortion resulting from narrow gap combined GTAW & SMAW and Electron Beam Welding was carried out. Thermomechanical finite element analysis of port plug becomes virtually impossible because of the requirement of huge number of nodes and elements. Hence an analysis method based on the concept of inherent strain was used in this work. The computational time required was about 40-50 min only in a Core (TM) 2 Duo, 2.66 GHz computer with 2 GB RAM, which otherwise was not possible with other conventional computation techniques. 针对大口径离轴非球面系统加工与装调的难点,提出了非球面光学系统共基准加工与检测的方法,对该方法的基本原理和实现过程进行了分析和研究。当光学系统的主镜和第三镜面形的RMS值优于λ/10(λ=632.8nm)时,对主镜和第三镜进行共基准装调和测试,并进行背板一体化装嵌,然后利用离子束对其进行一体化共基准加工。结合工程实例,对一大口径非球面系统口径为724mm×247mm的非球面主镜和口径为632mm×205mm的第三镜进行了共基准加工与检测,最终利用离子束共基准一体化精抛光得到主镜和第三镜面形的RMS值分别为0.019λ和0.017λ,满足光学成像。 相似文献
