Cracking of brittle cementitious composites subjected to excessive loading causes a potential reduction in material performance. Steel bars or metal fibers typically act as tensile reinforcing in concrete composites to increase the material's structural capacity in bending and to delay or prevent matrix cracking.The goal of this research is to determine whether the performance in bending strength and material integrity of a typically reinforced cementitious composite may be improved through the release of “healing” chemicals, such as adhesives, from hollow fibers into cracks induced by loading in addition to the metal reinforcing. Adhesive-filled repair fibers are intended to break immediately upon cracking in the concrete thereby activating the healing process with the release of a sealing or adhering substance. This self-repair occurs whenever and wherever cracks are generated.  相似文献

Traditionally, SiC components with complex shapes are very difficult or even impossible to fabricate. This paper aims to develop a new manufacturing process, combining selective laser sintering (SLS), cold isostatic pressing (CIP) and polymer infiltration pyrolysis (PIP), to manufacture complex silicon carbide parts and improve the mechanical properties of silicon carbide ceramic parts. The density and porosity of SiC/SiC composites were measured. Furthermore, the mechanical properties of the specimens with cold isostatic pressing and the specimens without cold isostatic pressing were compared. The bending strength of the specimens with cold isostatic pressing was 201?MPa, and the elastic modulus was 1.27?GPa. And, the bending strength of the specimens without cold isostatic pressing was 142?MPa, and the elastic modulus was 0.88?GPa. Increasing the density of SiC/SiC can enhance the mechanical properties of SiC/SiC composites.  相似文献

The bending moment acting on the overhung shaft of a gas-sparged vessel stirred by a Rushton turbine, as one of the results of fluid and structure interactions in stirred vessels, was measured using a moment sensor equipped with digital telemetry. An analysis of the shaft bending moment amplitude shows that the amplitude distribution of the bending moment, which indicates the elasticity nature of shaft material against bending deformation, fol-lows the Weibull distribution. The trends of amplitude mean, standard deviation and peak deviation character-istics manifest an“S”shape versus gas flow. The“S”trend of the relative mean bending moment over gas flow rate, depending on the flow regime in gas–liquid stirred vessels, resulted from the competition among the non-uniformity of bubbly flow around the impeller, the formation of gas cavities behind the blades, and the gas direct impact on the impel er when gas is introduced. A further analysis of the bending moment power spectral density shows that the rather low frequency and speed frequency are evident. The low-frequency contribution to bend-ing moment fluctuation peaks in the complete dispersion regime.  相似文献

We present a family of discrete isometric bending models (IBMs) for triangulated surfaces in 3-space. These models are derived from an axiomatic treatment of discrete Laplace operators, using these operators to obtain linear models for discrete mean curvature from which bending energies are assembled. Under the assumption of isometric surface deformations we show that these energies are quadratic in surface positions. The corresponding linear energy gradients and constant energy Hessians constitute an efficient model for computing bending forces and their derivatives, enabling fast time-integration of cloth dynamics with a two- to three-fold net speedup over existing nonlinear methods, and near-interactive rates for Willmore smoothing of large meshes.  相似文献

Simplified moment redistribution procedures based on shakedown have recently been approved by AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications (AASHTO 2004). These procedures are currently only applicable for homogeneous girders, and thus, the objective of this study is to evaluate whether these procedures can be further applied for hybrid HPS 485W girders. A parametric study is carried out using validated three-dimensional finite-element (FE) analyses to study the inelastic behavior of hybrid HPS 485W girders in negative bending for this purpose. The effective plastic moments obtained from the FE studies are compared with those from the proposed prediction equations, where good correlation is observed. A design example of a three-span slab-on-girder bridge with hybrid HPS 485W girders using both elastic design and the simplified moment redistribution procedures is also presented, where it is shown that the use of moment redistribution procedures results in a negative bending section that is 13% lighter than the corresponding elastic design.  相似文献

A numerical model for the coupled analysis of cross-sections made of anisotropic materials under general combined loading was formulated in an accompanying paper (1). In this paper, additional aspects concerning its implementation and the scheme for nonlinear analysis are discussed. The model is validated by analyzing several isotropic and anisotropic elastic problems; excellent accuracy was obtained compared to closed-form solutions. Further, the case of a RC section presenting crack-induced anisotropy is investigated. The capability of the model to capture interactions between tangent and normal forces is proved. The conclusion drawn is that the developed model is a suitable sectional constitutive equation for 3D beam elements for realistic structural analysis.  相似文献

The springback behaviour of a sheet-metal is dependent on the properties of the metal and the bending conditions, namely the thickness of the sheet-metal, geometry of the tooling and the amount of force used for bending. Sheet-metal component manufacturing often requires near zero springback angle to obtain the correct shape of the product. An attempt has been made to model the non-linear relation between properties of the metal, the springback angle, geometry of the tooling and the bending force applied. Multilayer perceptron neural networks with a backpropagation learning algorithm were used to model the bending process. One set of data from bending experiments in a laboratory environment was used to train the networks. The networks were tested with the remaining set of experimental results. Then, the neural networks were used to predict the forces required for a number of bending experiments to achieve a zero springback angle. Validation of the neural network predictions was performed by trying to apply the predicted amounts of bending force in the physical experiments. The springback angles achieved were within ±1 degree, which is an acceptable range for the work. The research clearly demonstrates the applicability of neural networks to modelling the sheet-metal bending process.  相似文献
