The microstructures, mechanical and corrosion properties of three extruded Mg-2Zn-0.46Y-xNd alloys (x = 0.0, 0.5, 1.0 wt%) were studied by optical microscopy, scanning electronic microscopy (SEM), electrochemical measurements and tensile tests. Microstructural observations indicated that Nd led to the uniformity and the variation of morphology of major second phase; tensile tests showed that Nd can improve the ductility at moderate amount (0.5 wt%) and will be detrimental up to 1.0%; Mg-2Zn-0.46Y-0.5Nd alloy exhibited excellent mechanical properties (σb, 269.0 MPa, σ0.2, 165.6 MPa and elongation, 24%); electrochemical tests revealed that Nd can enhance the corrosion resistance and Mg-2Zn-0.46Y-1.0Nd alloy had lowest corrosion current density, which was reasoned that the line-shape and rodlike NdZn2 phase might serve as corrosion barriers and the dissolved Nd can raise the electrode potential of the matrix. 相似文献

Polylactide (PLA)-grafted polysaccharides with various lengths and numbers of graft chains were synthesized using a trimethylsilyl protection method. The properties of the cast films prepared from graft-copolymers were investigated through thermal and dynamic mechanical analyses. The graft-copolymer films exhibited a lower glass transition temperature (Tg), melting temperature, and crystallinity, and higher viscosity properties compared to PLA films. Moreover, the usefulness of graft-copolymer as a plasticizer was investigated with 1:4 blend films prepared from the graft-copolymers and PLA. Non-toxic biodegradable linear poly(ester-urethane-urea)s with different hydrophilic character were synthesized from poly(ε-caprolactone) as macrodiol, l-lysine diisocyanate (LDI) and ethyl ester l-lysine or l-ornithine as chain extenders. Linear segmented polymers were synthesized by the prepolymer method with a tertiary amine playing a critical role in the chain extension in heterogeneous conditions. The prepared segmented polymers were fully chemically and physically characterized, including water uptake and hydrolytic stability measurements. Depending on the poly(ε-caprolactone) length, the segmented polymers were amorphous or semicrystalline. Effects of the ratios of fish myofibrillar protein (FMP) from bigeye snapper (Priacanthus tayenus) to polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) (FMP:PVA; 10:0, 8:2, 6:4, 5:5, 4:6, 2:8, 0:10) and pH levels (3 and 11) on the properties of resulting films were investigated. Both tensile strength (TS) and elongation at break (EAB) of films increased with increasing PVA content (p < 0.05). When PVA was incorporated up to 40%, films prepared at pH 11 had the higher TS than did those prepared at pH 3 (p < 0.05). However, as PVA content was greater than 40%, films prepared at pH 3 exhibited the higher TS than did those prepared at pH 11 (p < 0.05). Water vapor permeability (WVP) of the films prepared at pH 3 increased when PVA content increased up to 40% and decreased with further increases in PVA content (p < 0.05). PVA films had the higher TS, EAB and WVP than did FMP films and FMP/PVA blend films prepared at both pHs. Films exhibited the increased L∗ and a∗ values but decreased b∗ value with increasing PVA content at both pHs. Films prepared at pH 11 showed higher b∗ value than did those prepared at pH 3 when PVA content was greater than 40% (p < 0.05). FMP/PVA blend films exhibited the negligible transmission to the UV light. At pH 3, light transmission of the films increased as PVA content increased (p < 0.05). At all FMP/PVA ratios, films prepared at pH 11 were less transparent than those prepared at pH 3 (p < 0.05). Biodegradable films based on cassava starch and with addition of natural antimicrobial ingredients were prepared using the casting technique. The tensile properties tensile strength (TS) [MPa] and percent elongation (E) at break [%] and the water vapor transmission (WVT) of the biodegradable films were evaluated and compared with the control (without antimicrobial ingredients). The evaluation of the Colony Forming Units per gram [CFU/g] of pan bread slices packed with the best biodegradable films, in terms of packaging performance, was also determined. The addition onto the matrix of only clove and cinnamon powders could reduce the films WVT when compared to the control, however TS and E were lower than the control and the effect of cinnamon was milder regarding this property. Since water activity of the pan bread slices packed with the biodegradable films increased considerably during the storage period, the antimicrobial effect could not be clearly determined. 相似文献

Due to high water uptake and low mechanical properties of biodegradable thermoplastic starch, thermoplastic starch prepared from mung bean starch (TPMBS) was modified by the incorporation of cotton fiber and low‐density polyethylene (LDPE). The effect of different ratios of cotton fiber/LDPE, i.e., 10:0, 7:3, 5:5, 3:7, and 0:10, on water uptake, mechanical, thermal, and biodegradable properties of TPMBS was examined. Different TPMBS samples were prepared using internal mixer for compounding and compression molding machine for shaping samples. It was found that the TPMBS incorporated with 10:0, 7:3, and 3:7 cotton fiber/LDPE showed an increase in the stress at maximum load and Young's modulus. Moreover, the water absorption of all of the modified TPMBS samples tended to decrease as compared to the pure TPMBS. Morphological, thermal, and biodegradable properties of different TPMBS samples were also investigated. 相似文献
