The constituents of business interaction––generic layered patterns

In order to perform business modelling as apart of information systems development, there is a need for frameworks and methods. The paper proposes a framework for business interaction based on a language/action perspective. The framework is an architecture of five generic layers. The first layer concept is ‘business act’, which functions as the basic unit of analysis. The following four layer concepts are ‘action pair’, ‘exchange’, ‘business transaction’, and ‘transaction group’. The framework is inspired by a similar framework constructed by Weigand et al. The paper makes a critical examination of this framework as a basis for the proposed framework.     

Business process management—the third wave: business process modelling language (bpml) and its pi-calculus foundations

This paper introduces the ideas behind BPML, the business process modelling language published by BPMI. BPML provides a process-centric (as opposed to a datacentric) metalanguage and execution model for business systems. It is underpinned by a strong mathematical foundation, the pi-calculus. The current paper is derived from supplementary appendices to a book which describes a ‘third wave’ approach to business process management [Business Process Management: The Third Wave, 2003]. The aim is to model business processes directly in an executable form, so that the mobility and mutability inherent in business behaviour is reflected and supported in the corresponding IT systems, erasing the present IT-business divide.

软件构件技术的蓬勃兴起揭开了软件开发由作坊式生产向工业化生产转变的革命序幕。该文对软件构件技术进行了综述。首先通过对面向对象技术的回顾分析,说明了软件构件技术发展的技术背景与动机。接下来,对软件构件技术进行了阐述,并对当前主流的软件构件技术进行了技术描述和分析,包括:EnterpriseJavaBeans、CORBAComponentModel、微软的COM/DCOM/COM+和.NETAssembly、目前正处于热点的Web服务技术,以及面向构件的语言。最后,分析并指出了软件构件技术的发展未来是业务构件技术,它是最终实现软件工业化生产的希望。

一种基于扩展面向对象Petri网的业务组件建模方法

文章在面向对象Petri网的基础上,引入元数据(metadata),构成一种扩展的面向对象Petri网(EOPN),并以企业中的材料需求计划的制定过程为实例建立了描述这一业务过程的EOPN模型。基于这个业务过程模型实例,给出了业务组件建模的步骤和规则。     

Towards the construction of workflow-suitable conceptual modelling techniques

Despite their high-level and graphical nature, workflow specifications require a significant amount of implementation detail — for example application programming interface, database access and programming mechanisms for information flow — for a more comprehensive validation than is currently possible. This is currently recognized as a deficiency in workflow conceptualization. Although conceptual modelling techniques are available which are expressive, comprehensive and precise enough, we believe, their concepts and features are not specialized enough for workflow domains. In this paper, we offer a comparative insight into techniques which characterize different aspects and approaches of workflow specifications. These are: structured process modelling, object-oriented modelling, behavioural process modelling and business-oriented modelling. In particular, we determine gaps for workflows capturing operational business transaction processing, for example those of insurance claims, bank loans and government-related registration. For technique construction, we describe five workflow suitability principles.

Semantic constraint specification and verification of ebXML business process specifications

Electronic Business using eXtensible Markup Language (ebXML) Business Process Specification Schema (BPSS) supports the specification of the set of elements required to configure a runtime system in order to execute a set of ebXML business transactions. The BPSS is available in two stand-alone representations; a UML version and an XML version. Due to the limitations of UML notations and XML syntax, however, the current ebXML BPSS specification is insufficient to formally specify semantic constraints of modeling elements. In this study, we propose a classification scheme for BPSS semantic constraints, and describe how to represent those semantic constraints formally using Object Constraint Language. As a way to verify a particular Business Process Specification (BPS) with formal semantic constraint modeling, we suggest a rule-based approach to represent the formal semantic constraints, and describe a detail mechanism to apply the rule-based specified constraints to the BPS in a prototype implementation.     

Mobitex网络技术及其在电力系统中的应用

目前我国移动数据业务大部分通过话音优先的移动电话网传输，存在影响数据通信质量的情况，提出发展专用的窄带无线数据通信系统的必要性。分析Mobitex无线广域网技术和特点，针对目前电力通信系统的特点，给出Mobitex技术在电力系统的应用实例，指出利用Mobitex技术建立电力系统窄带专网实现电力系统内部无线数据通信有很大的应用前景。
