Fabrication of transparent nanoceramics is attracting more and more interests recently. In this study a new method of amorphous sintering followed by controlled crystallization (ASCC) was developed, and transparent LaAlO3/t-ZrO2 nanoceramic was prepared as an example. Based on a eutectic composition of Al2O3-La2O3-ZrO2, glass powders were synthesized, sintered, and then converted to nanoceramics by post-heat-treatment. The heat-treatment performed at 1200 °C for 2 h produced a transparent LaAlO3/t-ZrO2 nanoceramic with an average grain size of 40 nm. Due to the nanoscale microstructure, the ceramic showed a transparency up to 55% at 800 nm (1 mm thick), Vickers hardness of 19.05 GPa, and fracture toughness of 2.64 MPa m1/2, respectively. 相似文献

Meringues are characterized by a predominant air phase and their overall quality is intimately related with microstructure. The formation of meringues microstructure relies on the capacity of egg white (EW) proteins to form voluminous and stable foams and it is ultimately related with the chemical properties of proteins and with the addition of ingredients such as sugars, salts, acids and surfactants.The study aimed at assessing the influence of sugar/EW ratio, citric acid and EW type on the microstructural and mechanical properties of meringues. Meringues prepared with different sugar/EW, citric acid level and different EW type were subjected to microstructural analysis by X-ray microtomography and to mechanical assessment by compression tests.Results demonstrate the ability of X-ray microtomography to reconstruct the 3D microstructure of meringues allowing the measurement of porosity, size, shape and distribution of pores. Citric acid, sugar concentration and EW type play a fundamental role on meringues microstructural parameters and mechanical properties. Low sugar/EW ratios as well as increasing citric acid levels increase the air phase and result in a softer texture of meringues. Moreover, low sugar/EW ratios and increasing citric acid in the meringue result in a reduction of pore size and also influence the shape of pores. Meringues microstructural and mechanical properties are affected by the EW quality: fresh and pasteurized EWs and EWs stored at refrigerated temperatures scored the highest structural and mechanical performances, while powdered and frozen EWs and albumens from old eggs showed the worst results. The porous flake-shaped diatomite particles with different micropores diameter were used as forming templates for the fabrication of the conductive core–shell functional fillers by electroless silver plating. The surface morphologies and phase structures of the surface coatings onto diatomite particles with different micropores diameter were evaluated. The effects of micropores diameter on electrical resistivity, electromagnetic shielding effectiveness and mechanical property of polymer–matrix composites containing silver-coated diatomite particles were also investigated in detail. The results show that the micropores onto initial diatomite particles after plating are completely covered with the coating, while the micropores onto diatomite particles with expanding pores are still visible. The expanding micropores onto diatomite particles in certain size range have less impact on the phase structures, electrical resistivity and electromagnetic shielding effectiveness. However, the mechanical properties of composites are improved significantly after expanding micropores by HF acid corrosion. 相似文献

A fundamental assumption in this paper is that user satisfaction depends on product design. The approach consists of 5 steps: (1) define user satisfaction, (2) decompose product design elements, (3) conduct experiments, (4) develop relationship models, and (5) analyse critical design features. In order to demonstrate the practicability of this approach, relationship models were developed based on experimental data using a total of 60 subjects (30 American and 30 Korean subjects). In addition, critical design features and their common properties were identified for audio/visual consumer products. Similarities and differences between American and Korean consumers were discussed. Reaction bonded B4C-SiC composites were prepared by infiltrating silicon melt into porous B4C-SiC green preforms at 1500 °C in vacuum. The porous green preform was obtained from a mixture of polycarbosilane (PCS) and particle size graded B4C after pre-sintering at 1600 °C. For the first time, PCS was used to adjust the phase composition and microstructure of the reaction bonded boron carbide composites. It is indicated that the addition of PCS and its content has a significant influence on the microstructure as well as the mechanical properties of the subsequent reaction bonded B4C-SiC composites. For the B4C-SiC composite with 5 wt% PCS added, a flexural strength of 319±12 MPa, and an elastic modulus of 402±18 GPa can be achieved, which is 23% and 15% higher than those of the composite without PCS addition, respectively. While, with the higher content of PCS addition, the mechanical properties of the composites are decreased drastically due to the large amount of residual Si agglomeration in the composites. The reaction mechanisms as well as their microstructure evolution processes correlated with the mechanical properties of the reaction bonded B4C-SiC composites are further discussed in our work. 相似文献

In recent years, several equations have been proposed to calculate deflections and stresses in laminated-glass beams and plates under static loading using the concept of effective thickness, which consists of calculating the thickness of a monolithic element with equivalent bending properties to a laminated element. Recently, an effective thickness for the dynamic behavior of laminated-glass beams has been proposed to enable the modal parameters (natural frequencies, loss factors and mode shapes) to be determined using an equivalent monolithic model. In the present paper, the technique has been extended to the two-dimensional case of rectangular laminated-glass plates and the steps needed to estimate the modal parameters of laminated-glass elements using this methodology are presented. The dynamic effective thickness concept has been validated by experimental tests made on a laminated-glass beam and a laminated-glass plate. The results show that good accuracy is achieved in the natural frequencies and mode shapes but high scatter is encountered in the loss factors. 相似文献
