The advantages of suspension based Additive Manufacturing (AM), e.g. the lithography-based ceramic manufacturing (LCM), are high structural resolution, and compared to other available AM techniques, the manufacturing of dense (>99%) ceramic components with high performance. This novel manufacturing technique permits innovative designs, new types of ceramic components, and offers a range of new applications; like micro reactors, catalyst supporting structures or heat exchangers, as well as cutting edge biomedical devices and personalized medical products. Some examples of personalized medical products are customised ceramic knee implants or custom spinal fusion implants. Producing these implants using LCM would allow product offerings not possible before. However, the LCM process chain includes several open points, which have to be solved, in order to get high quality end results. In this paper, the development of suspensions (curable slurries) based on different binders, and the procedures for cleaning printed parts are thoroughly considered.  相似文献

Due to environmental and health aspects, aqueous ceramic slurries are preferred to traditional organic solvent systems in tape casting. An important obstacle associated with the high surface energy of water is poor wetting of aqueous ceramic slurries on polymeric tape carriers. Therefore, we measured the contact angles of an aqueous epoxy-based ceramic slurry on polyethylene terephtalate (PET), polypropylene (PP), polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), and aluminium-coated polyethylene terephtalate (PET-Al) films and investigated approaches to improving their wetting. We evaluated the effect of plasma treatment of the tape carrier surface on the wetting behaviour and compared it with the effect of adding non-ionic amphiphilic surfactants to the ceramic slurry. The treatment of the tape carrier surface by low-temperature plasma substantially improved the wetting behaviour of aqueous ceramic slurry. The lowest contact angle of 31° was obtained on the PET film. Although the addition of non-ionic surfactants improved both the wetting behaviour of the slurry and the detachment of the polymeric carrier from the ceramic tape even better than the plasma treatment of the carrier surface did, the plasma-treated carriers still present a useful alternative to the surfactants. In the case of the plasma-treated PET carrier the surfactants could be fully eliminated and potential drawbacks related to the use of surfactants could be prevented.  相似文献

以偶氨二异丁腈(AIBN)作引发剂,合成了偏氯乙烯(VDC)/丙烯腈(AN)/苯乙烯(St)三元悬浮共聚树脂。在聚合过程中,压力先逐步升高后下降。当悬浮聚合质量投料比为60:15:25(VCD/AN/St)时,其压力转变点的转化率约为55%~65%。聚合得到的三元VDC-AN-St悬浮共聚树脂为球形半透明颗粒,重均粒径约为50.56μm。合成的悬浮液中存在数量较多的微小粒子,加入NaNO2可减少其  相似文献

Several alumina and alumina-zirconia composite coatings were manufactured by suspension plasma spraying (SPS), implementing different operating conditions in order to achieve dense and cohesive structures. Temperatures and velocities of the in flight particles were measured with a commercial diagnostic system (Accuraspray®) at the spray distance as a function of the plasma operating parameters. Temperatures around 2000 °C and velocities as high as 450 m/s were detected. Hence, coatings with high amount of α-alumina phase were produced. The microstructure evolution according to the spray parameters was studied as well as the final tribological properties showing efficient wear resistance.  相似文献

Plasma spraying using liquid precursors makes possible the production of finely-structured coatings and thin coatings. This technology has been investigated for nearly ten years in many laboratories and applications are now emerging, using conventional plasma equipment except for the feedstock injection system. While superior quality is expected from the nano-structured coatings, the question remains as to the impacts of using liquid precursors on the environment. In this study, we used the life cycle assessment (LCA) methodology to compare the conventional plasma spray process using powder feedstock, with injection of the precursor in the form of a liquid solution or suspension. The LCA methodology consists of identifying and comparing the environmental impacts of feedstock, energy inputs, products and emissions (solid, liquid and gaseous) of these two alternatives. The LCA study was carried out using the SimaPro program developed in the Netherlands and a peer-reviewed database of upstream materials and energy (EcoInvent v.2). The specific application studied was the plasma spraying of yttria-stabilized zirconia.  相似文献

Rapid gravity, granular media filters are widely used in the water and wastewater treatment industries. Regular backwashing to clean the filters is a vital part of their efficient operation. Experimental data on the development of suspension concentration profiles through laboratory scale filter beds during the backwash process were obtained. Previous attempts to obtain and record backwash profiles of this type have been unsuccessful due to the limited range of existing turbidimeters. The onset of Soret-driven convection in a nanoparticles suspension heated from above is analyzed theoretically based on linear theory and relative instability concept. A new set of stability equations are derived and solved by using the dominant mode method. The dimensionless critical time τ c to mark the onset of instability is presented here as a function of the Rayleigh number, the Lewis number and the separation ratio. Available experimental data indicate that for large Rayleigh number convective motion is detected starting from a certain time τ≈3 τ c . This means that the growth period of initiated instabilities is needed for convective motion to be detected experimentally. It seems evident that during τ c τ ≤ 3 τ c convective motion is relatively very weak and the primary diffusive transfer is dominant.
