The problem of understanding the transfer of fibres between carding-machine surfaces is addressed by considering the movement of a single fibre in an airflow. The structure of the aerodynamic flow field predicts how and when fibres migrate between the different process surfaces. In the case of a revolving-flats carding machine the theory predicts a “strong” aerodynamic mechanism between taker-in and cylinder and a “weak” mechanism between cylinder and removal cylinder resulting in effective transfer in the first case and a more limited transfer in the second. 相似文献
For composites to compete in vehicle suspension applications, it is essential to control their failure by utilising their strength in principal direction instead of shear. This can be achieved efficiently by employing a new configuration instead of existing one. This study marries between an elliptical configuration and the woven roving composites.
In this paper, the influence of ellipticity ratio on performance of woven roving wrapped composite elliptical springs has been investigated both experimentally and numerically. A series of experiments was conducted for composite elliptical springs with ellipticity ratios (a/b) ranging from one to two. Typical failure histories of their failure mechanism are presented and discussed. In general, this study demonstrated that composites elliptical spring can be used for light and heavy trucks and meet the requirements, together with substantial weight saving. The results showed that the ellipticity ratio significantly influenced the spring rate and failure loads. Composite elliptic spring with ellipticity ratios of a/b 2.0 displayed the highest spring rate. 相似文献
The formation of CaO-TiO2-MgO-Al2O3 dual phase inclusion in 321 stainless steel was investigated in the laboratory. The result indicated that the condition for the formation of CaO-TiO2-MgO-Al2O3 in 321 steel is [Ca]〉0.001wt%, [Ti]〉0.1wt%, and [A1]〉0.01wt%. The mechanism is the following: Al2O3 inclusion turns into CaO-Al2O3 after Ca-Si wire is fed into the molten steel; [Mg] is then obtained by reducing MgO in slag or crucible wall by [Al] and [Ti]; finally CaO-Al2O3 inclusion is changed into CaO-TiO2-MgO-Al2O3 by the reaction with [Mg], [Ti], and [O] in the molten steel simultaneously. 相似文献
This paper describes an experimental investigation into the performance and lubrication failure mechanism of precise angular-contact ball bearings treated with MoS2-sputtered film, etc. As an important executive component of various spacecrafts, there are some strict requirements on the lubrication performance of angular-contact ball bearing, but the related experimental data are rare to see in literatures. In this experiment, the lubrication performances of MoS2-sputtered ball bearing pairs were evaluated by using lifetime test as a main method, and the topographies and compositions of working surfaces were investigated through SEM, AES and EDS. The systematical experiment results reveal that the degradation and failure process of solid lubrication for such ball bearing is divided into three stages with different characters. A supposed failure mechanism has been proposed. An improved lubrication treatment based on above mechanism was conducted for the precise ball bearings, and a later test showed that long endurance life with more than 108 revolutions has been reached. 相似文献
The hydration characteristics and expansion impetus of three kinds of cement paste under free-and confined-curing conditions
were investigated, which were respectively mixed with three different kinds of expansive agent at low W/B ratio. The results
show that the hydration products of pure cement paste and paste mixed with expansive agent are same, but the amount of hydration
products, un-hydrated C3S and C2S are obviously different at the same hydration age. At 3 d age, the amount of CH in pure cement paste is less than that of
paste mixed with expansive agent, but it is reverse when at 28 d age. The amount of AFt at 3d and 28d age in pure cement paste
is less than those of paste mixed with expansive agent. Regardless of under free- or confined-curing condition, the amount
of ettringite produced varies little since 3d age. The joint effect of the tumefaction of gel-ettringite due to water absorption
and the expansive pressure on the pore caused by the crystalloid ettringite is the cause of the volume expansion of cement
paste, and the former effect is much greater than the latter.
