Evaluation of the Hubbell integral for an omnidirectional detector response to a rectangular plaque gamma emitting radiation source using a different numerical computation method on a personal computer was made. For a plaque consisting of several strip gamma emitters, exposure rates at different positions above the source were calculated using 'exact' evaluation and an approximate method. Optimization method is used to find source activity of each strip, so as to acquire desirable dose uniformity of the irradiated products. In uses of the Hubbell integral, by introducing appropriate programming, computation time can be saved.  相似文献

Osmotic pressure measurements were satisfactorily used to compute the effective charge of poly(acrylic) acid (PAA) at different pHs and with different monovalent and divalent counterions. This experimental method is sensitive to the osmotically active species (polymer and counterions). After correction for the polymer contribution to the total osmotic pressure (solvency and excluded volume), the remaining pressure can be attributed to the polyelectrolyte counterions and processed with Donnan and equation of state in order to compute the effective charge number per polymeric chain (Zeff). The behavior of Zeff against the chain concentration and pH was investigated after neutralization of PAA with LiOH, NaOH, and TMAOH. The results clearly indicate that the nature of the monovalent counterion has no effect on Zeff leading to the conclusion that the interaction between monovalent counterions and the acrylate functionality is purely electrostatic in agreement with conductimetric and potentiometric results reported in the literature. The behavior of Zeff against the degree of ionization of the polymer and its concentration is also in good agreement with the theoretical expectations of the theory of ionic condensation. Osmotic measurements were also used in order to understand the influence of divalent cations (Mg2+, Ca2+, Ba2+) on Zeff of the sodium salt of PAA at pH 9 and at different divalent/acrylate molar ratio. All the divalent cations depress Zeff each of one at different degrees, confirming a specific divalent/polymer interaction. The energy of hydration of cations can explain most of the observed results with divalents.  相似文献

The behavior of the blast wave from an exploding spherical volume is investigated mathematically over the entire range of blast-wave propagation. The computational method uses analytical results for a similar problem for a point explosion with counter pressure and the theory of an asymptotically equivalent point explosion. The asymptotic solution of the gas-dynamic equations away from the explosion site is matched to the initial conditions of blast-wave formation due to the disintegration of the detonation shock upon its arrival at the boundary of the exploding volume. The spatial distribution of the blast-front pressure is found for combustible gaseous systems and solid explosives. This paper presents a new concept for symmetric boundary element method (SBEM) applicable to 2-D steady-state and transit potential problems. Two kinds of SBEM formulations are derived. Symmetry is obtained simply through matrix manipulation, and no hypersingularity appears. Therefore, SBEM is much easier than the traditional symmetric Galerkin BEM. Compared with the traditional asymmetric BEM, the present SBEM can reduce the computational cost for time domain problems only. However, when applied to BEM/FEM coupling procedure, SBEM can reduce the computational cost for both steady-state and time domain problems. Three numerical examples are included to illustrate the effectiveness and accuracy of the present formulations.  相似文献

It is demonstrated that scattering of mobile charge carriers by fluctuations of local spin density in the normal state of SC-cuprates results in anomalous contribution to the transport phenomena (Hall and Nernst effects are included).
