The aim of this study was to bring to the surface the strategic use of imitative processes in the context of a 2-route model: (a) direct imitation, used in reproducing new, meaningless actions, and (b) imitation based on stored semantic knowledge of familiar meaningful actions. Three experiments were carried out with healthy participants who reproduced meaningful and meaningless actions within an established time limit. The study investigated 3 factors that could potentially affect the selection of processes used for imitation: (a) the composition of the experimental list (blocked or mixed presentation), (b) the presence-absence of instructions (Experiments 1 and 2), and (c) the relative proportions of the stimuli (Experiment 3). Overall, the results suggest that each of these factors influences the selection of imitative strategies in healthy individuals with temporarily reduced capacities, as happens in the case of brain-damaged patients. People have knowledge about relationships (i.e., relational schemas) that is based on their experiences. Because most people have experience with complementary behavior (interaction partners behaving similarly in terms of affiliation but oppositely in terms of control), they expect complementary behavior in their relationships. Like other beliefs about relationships, expectations of complementarity affect self-construal. The authors provide evidence for complementary self-construal; people assimilate to relevant relationship partners on the affiliation dimension and contrast on the control dimension. Consistent with the proposed role of relationship knowledge in these effects, complementary self-construal was moderated by the familiarity of the target, whether people focused on their relationship with or the appearance of the target, and whether the context was relevant for the interpersonal dimension. Being perceptive is a trait highly valued in scientific and engineering professions. What a scientist or engineer notices while considering a problem, evaluating alternatives, or interpreting data has a profound impact on how a problem is viewed and solved. This paper focuses on processes we believe underlie being perceptive: firstly, preparation—becoming attuned to salient or important features; secondly, assimilation-detection and exploration of patterns (invariants) as well as anomalies; and thirdly, strategic control-heuristic strategies for exploring the implications of what has been observed. These processes play an integral role in characteristic activities within creative design, including problem reformulation, the emergence of properties and constraints on the solution, and the ability to incorporate into the design experimental feedback from the environment and from experiences with prototypes and previous designs. The paper presents a computational model incorporating these ideas, implemented in a system called IMPROVISER. 相似文献
In this paper, we propose an ID-based non-interactive zero-knowledge proof system based on the 1-out-of-2 noninteractive oblivious transfer protocol. This zero-knowledge proof system is secure against a newly discovered cheating attack. 相似文献
This paper presents a project undertaken for the European Space Agency (ESA). The project is developing a knowledge based system for planning and scheduling of activities for spacecraft assembly, integration and verification (AIV). The system extends to the monitoring of plan execution and the plan repair phases.
The objectives of the contract are to develop an operational kernel of a planning, scheduling and plan repair tool, called OPTIMUM-AIV, and to provide facilities which will allow individual projects to customize the kernel to suit its specific needs. The kernel shall consist of a set of software functionalities for assistance in the initial specification of the AIV plan, in the verification and generation of valid plans and schedules for the AIV activities, and in interactive monitoring and execution problem recovery for the detailed AIV plans. Embedded in OPTIMUM-AIV are external interfaces which allow integration with alternative scheduling systems and project databases.
The current status of the OPTIMUM-AIV project, as of May 1991, is that the architectural design of the system has been agreed on by ESTEC/ESA and detailed design and implementation is now underway, expecting a final delivery in October of 1991. 相似文献
In this paper it is shown how tools developed in argumentation theory and artificial intelligence can be applied to the development
of a new dialectical analysis of the speech act of making a proposal in a deliberation dialogue. These tools are developed,
modified and used to formulate dialogue pre-conditions, defining conditions and post-conditions for the speech act of making
a proposal in a deliberation dialogue. The defining conditions set out what is required for a move in a dialogue to count
as the making of a proposal by one of the parties. What is required are the conditions that (1) the move fit the requirements
of the argumentation scheme for practical reasoning, and (2) the premises are propositions describing common goals of both
parties or propositions that they reasonably consider means to achieve these goals. The analysis goes beyond the standard
speech act approach by specifying not only the normative requirements for making a well-formed proposal, but also the requirements
for responding to it by questioning or criticizing it, and the requirements for defending it. 相似文献
