Automated fluorimetry in quality control of pasteurized and ultra-high temperature-treated starch soup

Automated monitoring of the microbiological quality of heat-processed foods by the resazurin reduction test was applied to microtitration plate incubator-fluorimeter technology. The appearance and disappearance of the fluorescing peak of resorufin was monitored on microtitration trays. Pasteurized or ultra-high temperature-treated starch-based soup was used as the model food system. Bacillus subtilis spores (ultra-high temperature treatment) and vegetative cells of Enterococcus faecalis (pasteurization) were inoculated into the soup before the heat treatment at levels which resulted in some survival. The timing of appearance of maximum fluorescence correlated with the number of bacteria in pre-incubated samples. Automated resazurin-reduction fluorimetry was compared with conventional plating, turbidometry and microcolony count by the direct epifluorescent filter technique. The results of the resazurin test correlated well with those of all the other methods tested. Fluorimetry had the advantage that the results could be read within 1–5h and the reproducibility was superior to the other methods.

Processor Utilization Bounds for Real-Time Systems With Precedence Constraints

This paper presents a novel approach to computing tight upper bounds on the processor utilization for general real-time systems where tasks are composed of subtasks and precedence constraints may exist among subtasks of the same task. By careful analysis of preemption effects among tasks, the problem is formulated as a set of linear programming (LP) problems. Observations are made to reduce the number of LP problem instances required to be solved, which greatly improves the computation time of the utilization bounds. Furthermore, additional constraints are allowed to be included under certain circumstances to improve the quality of the bounds.

Interoceptive Sensitivity and Self-Reports of Emotional Experience.

People differ in the extent to which they emphasize feelings of activation or deactivation in their verbal reports of experienced emotion, termed arousal focus (AF). Two multimethod studies indicate that AF is linked to heightened interoceptive sensitivity (as measured by performance on a heartbeat detection task). People who were more sensitive to their heartbeats emphasized feelings of activation and deactivation when reporting their experiences of emotion over time more than did those who were less sensitive. This relationship was not accounted for by several other variables, including simple language effects. 提出了一种基于遗传算法的图像边缘信息链表匹配方法。首先,采用CANNY算子的方法提取图像边缘;然后,将图像边缘信息链表化;最后,基于链表化结果利用遗传算法进行链表匹配。该方法能够减少匹配过程中的计算量,且能实现高效匹配。通过仿真实验,验证了该方法的性能。

本文设计了一种应用于油气藏永久性实时动态监测系统。该系统用光纤Bragg光栅(FBG)传感器作为井下永久性传感器,测量目的层的温度、压力等参数的模拟信号;在井口建立数据采集处理系统,将模拟信号解调成数字信号;通过GPRS无线移动通信网络传输到监测中心的数据库服务器上,并以Web形式发布到Internet网络上,同时提供移动用户浏览接口,且当数据异常时可以发送报警短消息。该系统实现了油气藏的远程实时动态监测,可以为油藏管理人员和技术人员及时、准确地做出决策提供可靠依据。
