By increasing the amount of acicular ferrite (AF) in the microstructure, steel toughness can be improved significantly. The steel composition, cooling rate, non-metallic inclusions and austenite grain size have a strong influence on the formation of AF. The present paper describes and compares two approaches to study AF formation in a titanium-deoxidised high-strength low-alloyed steel and its influencing factors on laboratory scale: route A simulates the formation of AF after heat treatment; route B simulates the formation directly after solidification of the melt. The formation of AF is essentially influenced by the former processing, which also changes the optimum cooling parameters substantially. (Ti,Mn)xOy and (Ti,Al,Mn)xOySz are the predominant active inclusion types in the investigated steel.  相似文献

Silver niobate AgNbO3 is a promising basic compound for high permittivity microwave dielectrics and lead-free piezoelectrics. Stoichiometric and nonstoichiometric AgxNbO2.5+x/2 ceramics were obtained for x equal to 0.95, 0.98, 1.00, 1.02, and 1.05. Scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction studies showed that the homogeneity of the perovskite phase and thus the ceramics quality improved with the increase of x. Dielectric and thermal measurements (DSC) were carried out in wide temperature range. They revealed that the phase transitions become less diffused and shift towards higher temperatures with the increase of silver concentration. These temperature shifts are more significant for the low temperature phase transitions, which are connected with appearance of the polar ferroelectric and antiferroelectric states, than for high temperature transitions related to oxygen octahedra tilts. Influence of silver concentration on interaction between electric dipoles and on stability of polar phases is discussed. A few percent silver excess improve significantly ceramic quality.  相似文献

The x(CuO)/(1−x)Ni(OH)2 [x=0, 0.1 and 0.3] nanocomposites were prepared by the hydrothermal method in the presence of the surfactant polyethylenglycol-10000 (PEG-10000). X-ray diffraction (XRD), infrared (IR) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were used to characterize the as-prepared samples. The increase of the CuO content led to the increase of the crystallite size of both, the β-Ni(OH)2 and the CuO. The increase in the crystallite size greatly affects the band gap energy of the as-prepared nanocomposites. The band gap energies of the x(CuO)/(1−x)Ni(OH)2 nanocomposites were estimated by UV–vis spectroscopic method. UV–vis spectroscopic results showed an apparent decrease in the direct band gap energies. The x(CuO)/(1−x)Ni(OH)2 [x=0, 0.1 and 0.3] nanocomposites show low band gap energies compared to the Ni(OH)2 bulk materials. The enhanced optical properties lead to their possible use in photocatalytic and photovoltaic applications.  相似文献

Abstract

Ni-base superalloys have for decades been studied with regard to environmentally influenced intergranular crack propagation. For high temperature fatigue frequencies <0.1 Hz, it has been shown that an oxygen-rich environment promotes time-dependent crack growth while at >0.1 Hz and/or in inert environments (e.g. vacuum) crack growth is cycle dependent. Oxygen interaction at, or ahead of, the crack tip has been pointed out as the reason for the degraded mechanical properties. While many aspects of this type of crack growth have been previously investigated there is still no consensus about the detailed mechanisms, mainly due to the lack of in-detail investigations of the crack-tip region.

Here, crack tip regions in the Ni-base superalloy Alloy 718 were studied. Specimens were subjected to 90 s hold-times at 550°C and 650°C. Crack growth was arrested before final fracture, allowing cross-sectional analyses of the crack-tip region using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Detailed studies of the crack-tip region were performed using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and atom probe tomography (APT). For both APT and TEM samples, site-specific focussed ion beam (FIB) sample preparation was performed in a combined FIB-SEM system. The methodology of accessing and analysing the crack tip region is shown. Initial results on oxidation, oxygen penetration and plastic deformation are shown and discussed.  相似文献

The thermoacoustic effect of isolated single‐wall carbon nanotubes aligned between electrodes is experimentally observed for the first time by imaging the emitted acoustic wave using an atomic force microscopy‐based technique specifically developed for the task. The capability of such a technique for single‐point thermoacoustic measurements is first verified on carbon nanotubes layers with two electrodes for injecting alternate electric current. The technique is then demonstrated to allow the acquisition, simultaneously with the topography, of images reflecting the pressure of the acoustic wave at fixed distance from the sample. Such a capability is used to collect images reflecting the amplitude of acoustic waves generated by isolated nanotubes and nanotube bundles by the thermoacoustic effect.  相似文献

Salmon cartilage proteoglycan fractions have recently gained favor as ingredients of functional food and cosmetics. An optimal hot water method to extract proteoglycan from salmon cartilage has recently been developed. The extracted cartilage includes hyaluronan and collagen in addition to proteoglycan as counterparts that interact with each other. In this study, biochemical analyses and atomic force microscopical analysis revealed global molecular images of proteoglycan in the hot water extract. More than seventy percent of proteoglycans in this extract maintained their whole native structures. Hyaluronan purified from the hot water extract showed a distribution with high molecular weight similar to hyaluronan considered to be native hyaluronan in cartilage. The current data is evidence of the quality of this hot water cartilage extract.  相似文献

PurposeTo report a case of Acanthamoeba keratitis diagnosed using confocal microscopy in a patient corrected by orthokeratology and treated with corneal crosslinking (CXL) after failure to respond to medical treatment.MethodsAfter diagnosis, the patient was treated with several medications until CXL was applied during one 30-min session using ultraviolet A radiation and application of riboflavin. The clinical signs of the disease observed using slit-lamp biomicroscopy and confocal microscopy were evaluated and the visual acuity was measured during the course of the infection and treatment over a period of 30 months including 12 months of medical treatment, 9 months after cross-linking and amniotic membrane transplant and 9 months after penetrating keratoplasty and cataract extraction.ResultsIn this case, confocal microscopy facilitated early diagnosis of an Acanthamoeba infection even if other signs and symptoms might be confounding. CXL was more effective than aggressive medication against the microorganism. After CXL, the symptoms and the corneal appearance improved significantly but the ulcer did not heal completely. After amniotic membrane transplantation, the patient underwent penetrating keratoplasty (PK) with no rejection, and the visual function substantially improved over 9 months of follow-up.ConclusionsSwimming in contaminated water might represent a risk for orthokeratology patients. CXL was effective for treating Acanthamoeba keratitis in an orthokeratology patient to eliminate active and cystic forms of the microorganism. Confocal microscopy was useful to confirm the diagnosis in the presence of confounding clinical signs observed during a conventional slit-lamp examination. Both CXL and confocal microscopy are essential to the outcome of PK.  相似文献
