This paper describes the static and transient thermal modelling of an Ohmic heating microreactor for biological sample processing for the purpose of genetic analysis. Precise thermal management can be used for the effective preparation of analyte DNA molecules prior to detection. Due to the small dimensions of the microreactor, the direct measurement and monitoring of the temperature distribution presents a challenge. To overcome this, thermal modelling has been used to accurately predict the thermal behaviour of the microreactor and sample component. It is further possible to calculate the required input power levels and provide design criteria to optimise the design of the microreactor.  相似文献

It is difficult to give an accurate judgement of whether the traffic model fit the actual traffic. The traditional method is to compare the Hurst parameter, data histogram and autocorrelation function. The method of comparing Hurst parameter cannot give exact results and judgement. The method of comparing data histogram and autocorrelation only gives a qualitative judgement. Based on linear discriminant analysis we proposed a novel arithmetic. Utilizing this arithmetic we analysed some sets of data with large and little differences. We also analysed some sets of data generated by network simulator. The analysis result is accurate. Comparing with traditional method, this arithmetic is useful and can conveniently give an accurate judgement for complex network traffic trace. Copyright © 2005 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The hot area in power transistors due to the power dissipation is determined from a 2D-hydrodynamic model. The power is calculated everywhere in the device from the knowledge of the physical quantities (current density, electric field). In this paper, we present an implementation of a thermal modelling method applied to a multichip module used as a power converter. Analytical functions of thermal impedances, with original formulations for the mutuals are defined. They are derived from 3D thermal simulations and experimental validations with direct chips temperature measurements. Finally, simulations are performed in order to improve the capability of our model to assess, with fast computation, the thermal constraints applied on the multichip module in a real operating condition.  相似文献

Random waypoint mobility model in cellular networks   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
In this paper we study the so-called random waypoint (RWP) mobility model in the context of cellular networks. In the RWP model the nodes, i.e., mobile users, move along a zigzag path consisting of straight legs from one waypoint to the next. Each waypoint is assumed to be drawn from the uniform distribution over the given convex domain. In this paper we characterise the key performance measures, mean handover rate and mean sojourn time from the point of view of an arbitrary cell, as well as the mean handover rate in the network. To this end, we present an exact analytical formula for the mean arrival rate across an arbitrary curve. This result together with the pdf of the node location, allows us to compute all other interesting measures. The results are illustrated by several numerical examples. For instance, as a straightforward application of these results one can easily adjust the model parameters in a simulation so that the scenario matches well with, e.g., the measured sojourn times in a cell.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a new technique for reducing cell loss in multi‐banyan‐based ATM switching fabrics. We propose a switch architecture that uses incremental path reservation based on previously established connections. Path reservation is carried out sequentially within each banyan but multiple banyan planes can be concurrently reserved. We use a conflict resolution approach according to which banyans make concurrent reservation offers of conflict‐free paths to head of the line cells waiting in input buffers. A reservation offer from a given banyan is allocated to the cell whose source‐to‐destination path uses the largest number of partially allocated switching elements which are shared with previously reserved paths. Paths are incrementally clustered within each banyan. This approach leaves the largest number of free switching elements for subsequent reservations which has the effect of reducing the potential of future conflicts and improves throughput. We present a pipelined switch architecture based on the above concept of path‐clustering which we call path‐clustering banyan switching fabric (PCBSF). An efficient hardware that implements PCBSF is presented together with its theoretical basis. The performance and robustness of PCBSF are evaluated under simulated uniform traffic and ATM traffic. We also compare the cell loss rate of PCBSF to that of other pipelined banyan switches by varying the switch size, input buffer size, and traffic pattern.
