《动物农庄》中的黑色幽默

乔治·奥威尔在他的小说《动物庄园》中,运用黑色幽默手法,将一个极权、泯灭人性的未来社会面貌通过拟人的寓言形式表现出来.其中,讽刺、角色选择时代性、语言的谬论手法,体现黑色幽默的艺术技巧.     

良好设施 科学规范化管理的必要性

江西省药物研究所于2008年建立了实验动物屏障设施,同年八月取得《实验动物使用许可证》,现已正常运行两年,由于我们严格按照屏障系统设施标准操作规范进行管理,实验动物屏障设施启用后,一直比较稳定。通过对实验动物屏障设施空调净化系统两年多的运行管理,深深体会到良好设施科学规范管理是非常必要的。     

晨静甲消毒液刺激性试验研究

目的：应用晨静甲消毒液对实验兔皮肤、阴道黏膜进行刺激试验,为其消毒液的生产和应用提供依据。方法：依据消毒技术规范（2002年版）进行一次破损皮肤刺激试验、多次皮肤刺激试验、阴道黏膜刺激试验。结果：实验兔一次破损皮肤刺激试验反应积分为0;多次皮肤刺激试验反应积分为0;阴道黏膜刺激试验反应积分为0。结论：在本试验条件下,该消毒液无刺激性。     

Genetic science, animal exploitation, and the challenge for democracy

As the debates over cloning and stem cell research indicate, issues raised by biotechnology combine research into the genetic sciences, perspectives and contexts articulated by the social sciences, and the ethical and anthropological concerns of philosophy. Consequently, I argue that intervening in the debates over biotechnology requires supra-disciplinary critical philosophy and social theory to illuminate the problems and their stakes. In addition, debates over cloning and stem cell research raise exceptionally important challenges to bioethics and a democratic politics of communication.

Fast computation of minimal elementary decompositions of metabolic flux vectors

The concept of elementary flux vector is valuable in a number of applications of metabolic engineering. For instance, in metabolic flux analysis, each admissible flux vector can be expressed as a non-negative linear combination of a small number of elementary flux vectors. However a critical issue concerns the total number of elementary flux vectors which may be huge because it combinatorially increases with the size of the metabolic network. In this paper we present a fast algorithm that randomly computes a decomposition of admissible flux vectors in a minimal number of elementary flux vectors without explicitly enumerating all of them.     

1995-2006年我国部分地区动物样品中放射性核素水平监测

报道1995—2006年我国部分地区的主要肉类动物、鱼虾类、贝壳类以及牛奶放射性核素水平的监测结果。监测结果表明：①各类样品中天然放射性核素^238U、^232Th、^226Ra、^40K比活度（活度浓度）均在正常范围内。②猪肉、羊肉、鸡肉3类肉类动物样品中^90Sr平均比活度分别为0.99、0.03、0.17 Bq/kg（鲜）,^137Cs平均比活度分别为0.54、0.02、0.03 Bq/kg（鲜）;鱼类、虾类样品中^90Sr平均比活度分别为0.29、0.85 Bq/kg（鲜）,^137Cs平均比活度分别为0.23、0.04 Bq/kg（鲜）;扇贝、珍珠贝、螺蛳、牡蛎4类贝壳类样品中90Sr平均比活度为0.26 Bq/kg（鲜）,^137Cs平均比活度为0.04 Bq/kg（鲜）;牛奶样品中^90Sr平均活度浓度为0.10 Bq/L,^137Cs平均活度浓度为0.02 Bq/L。     

Specificity of a novel TaqMan PCR method for detection of poultry DNA

After the Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) crisis emerged in 1985/1986, all processed animal proteins (PAPs) were finally banned for use in animal feed in the European Union. To partially lift this feed ban, paths for re-introduction of PAPs from species other than ruminants e.g. pig and poultry, are described in the Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies (TSE) Roadmap 2. Cannibalism, however, is still not allowed. Specific detection methods for pig and poultry meal and PAPs are prerequisites for reintroduction of pig and poultry processed animal proteins into animal feed. Developing a sensitive PCR method that specifically detects the taxonomically diverse and therefore artificial group ‘poultry’ and that does not detect other birds at the same time is a challenge. Here, a novel TaqMan PCR method for poultry detection is presented. The specificity of the poultry method against target and non-target species has been extensively investigated. The efficiency, linearity and sensitivity was tested using dilution series of chicken, turkey, duck and goose DNA isolated from meat and autoclaved meat as a model system for PAPs.     

Advanced Space Facilities for Higher Plant Culture and Animal Embryo Culture in Microgravity

The Higher Plant Culture Device (HPCD) and the Animal Embryo Culture Device (AECD) were developed for life science experiments on board of the SJ-8 satellite and are discussed in the present paper. System composition modes and key technologies are described in detail, i.e. the photomicroscope with self-focus algorithm, the optical imaging path and the flexible positioning method of flowers, the special-purpose embryo vessel for culture and observation with lighting, in total four representative and innovative items of the key technology. Results and shortages of this space experiment are discussed briefly demonstrating that facilities work well in the microgravity environment. Finally, future improving principles are proposed.
