维特鲁威认为建筑是由模式、布置、比例、均衡、适合和经营构成的。在这六个方面中,适合和经营关系到建筑的适用性、经营管理;而前四个方面关系到建筑的模式、结构和外观。他说:"当建筑物的外观优美悦人,细部的比例符合正确的均衡时,就会保持美观的原则。"在维特鲁威的观念中,比例就是建筑美的核心。     

Haptic Cooperative Virtual Workspace: Architecture and evaluation

The Haptic Cooperative Virtual Workspace (HCVW), where users can simultaneously manipulate and haptically feel the same object, is beneficial and in some cases indispensable for training a team of surgeons, or in application areas in telerobotics and entertainment. In this paper we propose an architecture for the haptic cooperative workspace where the participants can kinesthetically interact, feel and push each other simultaneously while moving in the simulation. This involves the ability to manipulate the same virtual object at the same time. A set of experiments carried out to investigate the haptic cooperative workspace is reported. A new approach to quantitatively evaluate the cooperative haptic system is proposed, which can be extended to evaluate haptic systems in general.     

Organized knowledge sharing with book-centered Web sites: An architecture, implementation and analysis

For educators, the World Wide Web offers a valuable technology for knowledge sharing. It can complement more traditional approaches to knowledge sharing such as books and lectures. Here, we identify and differentiate three major approaches for Web-based knowledge sharing: course-centered sites, subject-centered sites, and book-centered sites. A rationale for book-centered sites, those developed to facilitate students’ and instructors’ efforts in courses that use the book, is advanced. We introduce an architecture of features that can guide developers of such sites. This is illustrated by a book-centered site implemented according to the architecture. Several sites for introductory business computing books are compared and contrasted in terms of the architecture, suggesting ways in which each can be extended. The road to intelligence

It is argued that robotic platforms are the way forward towards building intelligent systems, where multiple sensors and manipulation are used for cognitive processes. It is also argued that the cue for developing the right architecture for such a system is human language.     

汉语同语的功能特点与英译策略

以北大语料库(CCL)为例,分析论述汉语同语的功能特点.除了和英语同语一样可以表示强调以外,它们还具有转折、让步和赞誉的功能.对汉语同语进行英译时,应通过“理解-传递-体现”三个阶段实现功能对等.对表强调功能的单举式同语,可以保留其语言形式;对具有转折、让步和赞誉功能以及表强调功能的对举式同语,则应弃形式、保功能.     

戏画人生——关良的水墨戏剧人物画研究

关良是中国近现代画坛上一位不可或缺的大师,也是最早将西方绘画艺术介绍到我国的先行者之一。从关良留下的作品看,他酷爱传统戏剧,对戏剧表现语言深有体味。他不仅将西方现代派的绘画理念引入中国传统的水墨画之中,也在油画中表现了许多传统中国画的元素,在他的灵魂里,东西方艺术已经融为一体。重新审视其独特艺术语言,希望能为当代画坛提供一些启示。     

关于构建汉语语义修辞学的一点思考

汉语修辞研究渐入低谷,定位语言学的修辞研究逐渐被边缘化。深入开展语义修辞的研究,构建汉语语义修辞学新分支,积极确立其核心修辞学的地位,是继承与发展隶属语言学的现代汉语修辞学的可行路径。在研究中,于理论层面要着意构拟其特色的修辞范畴系统,于实践操作层面要创建起同其相匹配的修辞研究范式。
