嵌入式停车场管理系统

为改进基于PC的传统停车场管理系统工作于恶劣的环境中稳定性较差的问题,提出了一种基于嵌入式的停车场管理系统的设计方案。该方案结合MVC模式及QT/E技术实现了友好的嵌入式终端的界面交互;考虑到大型停车场多进多出的工作模式,使用心跳信号解决网络通信中常见的网络链接不稳定的状况;利用基于线程技术的数据采集有效保障数据采集的实时性和可靠性。经大量测试及实际使用证明,这种新型的嵌入式停车场管理系统,在工作稳定性上有大幅提高的同时使得停车场的成本也有所下降。     

A multi-objective optimization approach to balancing cost and traceability in bulk grain handling

This paper proposes a multi-objective optimization model that provides an effective method for minimizing traceability effort by minimizing the food safety risk caused by lot aggregation at a grain elevator. A mathematical multi-objective mixed-integer programming (MIP) model is proposed with two objective functions that allow in calculating the minimum levels of lot aggregation and minimum total cost of blending grain. Constraints on the system include customer contract specifications, availability of grain at the elevators and the blending requirements. The solutions include quantities of grain from different storage bins to be used for blending for a shipment while using the minimum number of storage bins and minimum total cost. The numerical results are presented for a corn shipment scenario to demonstrate the application of this model. Pareto optimal front is computed for the problem for simultaneous optimization of lot aggregation and cost of blending. Sensitivity analysis is conducted to analyze the application of the model under different operating conditions.     

An effective modified migrating birds optimization for hybrid flowshop scheduling problem with lot streaming

In this paper, the problem of hybrid flowshop hybridizing with lot streaming (HLFS) with the objective of minimizing the total flow time is addressed. We propose a mathematical model and an effective modified migrating birds optimization (EMBO) to solve this problem within an acceptable computational time. A so-called shortest waiting time rule (SWT) is introduced to schedule the jobs concurrently arriving at stages more reasonably. A combined neighborhood search strategy is developed that unites two different neighborhood operators during evolution, not only taking full advantage of their specializations but also promoting their joint efforts. Two competitive mechanisms are respectively used to increase the probability of locating better solutions at the front of the flock and enhance the interaction between two lines. The scout phase on the basis of the Glover operator and a well-designed local search is applied to the individuals trapped into local optimums and helps the algorithm explore potential promising domains. The dynamic solution acceptance criteria is developed to strike a compromise between intensification and diversification mechanisms. The performance of our proposed algorithm is evaluated by comparisons with seven other efficient algorithms in the literature. And the extensive numerical illustrations demonstrate that the proposed algorithm performs much more effectively for the addressed problem.     

A Performance Driven Lot Merging Method with Closed Loop Optimization for Semiconductor Wafer Fabrication

This paper deals with lot merging problem in semiconductor wafer fabrication system.There is the possibility to merge two or more partial lots into single lot if their subsequent process routes are the same,an improved lot merging method is presented by grouping lots belonging to different orders.Based on job information extracted from the buffers,several bin packing and knapsack solving algorithms are used to determine which lots should be merged.An iterative improvement procedure is introduced for optimizing merging strategy through a heuristic algorithm with resetting the ready time of critical lots.The closed loop structure with global revision factor is built for minimizing the impact of uncertain events while balancing the different orders processing progress.Applied to a simulation semiconductor manufacturing fab,the proposed algorithm can reduce cycle time and tardiness compared with other methods currently.     

Developmental change and intraindividual variability: Relating cognitive aging to cognitive plasticity, cardiovascular lability, and emotional diversity.

Repeated assessments obtained over years can be used to measure individuals' developmental change, whereas repeated assessments obtained over a few weeks can be used to measure individuals' dynamic characteristics. Using data from a burst of measurement embedded in the Berlin Aging Study (BASE; Baltes & Mayer, 1999), we illustrate and examine how long-term changes in cognitive ability are related to short-term changes in cognitive performance, cardiovascular function, and emotional experience. Our findings suggest that “better” cognitive aging over approximately 13 years was associated with greater cognitive plasticity, less cardiovascular lability, and less emotional diversity over approximately 2 weeks at age 90 years. The study highlights the potential benefits of multi-time scale longitudinal designs for the study of individual function and development. Radical Post-Modernism and Content: Charles Jencks and Rem Koolhaas Debate the Issue

The following debate took place on 28 December 2009 between Charles Jencks and Rem Koolhaas , and was transcribed and edited by Eva Branscome. Jencks and Koolhaas have exchanged ideas since the late 1960s. Jencks was the one to insist that Koolhaas come to the 1980 Venice Biennale, originally entitled ‘Post-Modernism’. (Paolo Portoghesi invited Jencks to collaborate with him on this first Biennale before it expanded into historicism.) In January 2002, Jencks was also a judge of the competition for the CCTV Building, the headquarters for China Central Television in Beijing, discussed below. Jencks and Koolhaas continue to thrive on their discussions and disagreements. Fabricating Design: A Revolution of Choice

Berlin-based practice Barkow Leibinger has become synonymous with expertise in digital fabrication. For 12 years, the firm has been engaged in designing buildings for machine-tool company Trumpf in Stuttgart - a relationship that has given the firm remarkable insights into the laser cutting of sheet metal. Here, Frank Barkow describes the fruitful research that the studio has undertaken in laser cutting as well as two innovative projects that have resulted from it. He explains why a new technology like that of digital fabrication must be for architects by necessity ‘a revolution of choice’ - a speculation on where best to exploit new possibilities, albeit informed by research and experimentation.
