The nature of home automation is introduced. It is argued that end users should be able to define how the home system reacts to changing circumstances. Policies are employed as user-defined rules for how this should happen. The architecture of the Homer home automation system is briefly overviewed. The Homer policy system and the Homeric policy language it supports are explained. A technique is described for offline conflict analysis among policies (the analogue of the feature interaction problem). Ambient intelligent systems such as Home and Building Automation Systems (HBAS) are becoming evermore accepted and capable of actuating automatically on behalf of users to fulfil their requests or enable activities. However, when multiple users interact with such systems, the requirements of activities often interfere resulting in conflicting actuations which HBAS ought to automatically detect and resolve. Yet, despite recent advances in HBAS, no ambient intelligent solution has been reported that is adequately grounded on knowledge analysis.The contributions of this article are twofold. First, it reviews relevant literature on Ambient Intelligence, conflict detection, conflict resolution and knowledge representation in HBAS. Second, it proposes and validates an ontological framework for conflict detection and resolution backed by knowledge-based analysis. Temporal radio frequency (RF) exposure from present and emerging technologies in sensitive microenvironments such as schools and homes is important for evaluations of compliance to international limits. For the first time, temporal 24-hour measurements of all present RF signals, including LTE (Long term Evolution), are performed with accurate spectral narrowband equipment in these environments where children are present. The largest maximal variations are obtained for the cordless telephony (DECT) signals (10.6 dB) and for the WiFi 2.4 GHz signals (12.7 dB), while variations of broadcasting signals and telecommunication signals were much lower namely, 2.9 dB and 3.3 dB, respectively. Thus, indoor sources exhibit the largest variations indoor and are the most critical for practical exposure assessment and comparison with existing guidelines. It is recommended to perform exposure measurements during school days as highest field values were measured then. All field values measured over 24 hour satisfied the ICNIRP reference levels. 相似文献

In home health care (HHC) operations, nurses are scheduled and routed to perform various services at clients' homes. As this often requires a combination of vehicle routing and scheduling approaches, resulting optimization problems are complex and, hence, of high interest to stakeholders such as researchers, practitioners and policy-makers. With demand for HHC expected to increase substantially, future work is essential to decrease costs and to guarantee service quality.
