This article is broadly about Facebook Headquarters in Menlo Park, California, with a focus on the planning, design, and ongoing construction of the Bayfront Campus. The project is rooted in ecological principles, restoring a post-industrial brownfield site to a biodiverse and resilient landscape. It reaches to merge the functional needs of workplace culture with habitat created by the establishment of natural systems. Two of three new buildings — MPK 20 and MPK 21 — are now completed, fluidly integrating the architecture and landscape. Together, they form a rich and complex campus landscape that brings people close to each other and to nature, reduces and treats stormwater runoff, minimizes head island effects, and maximizes open space. Responding to ongoing site and program needs, the observations and feedback from MPK 20 (completed in 2015) provided valuable insights on the improvement of MPK 21 (completed in 2018). The design provides abundant landscape services, not only enhancing the knowledge of species that define local California native habitats, but also allowing people to learn through osmosis — relaxing the mind, expanding perception, and stimulating imagination. 相似文献

根据自然海水中低合金铸铁试验结果,在蚀坑内受扩散和迁移控制的质量传输、化学溶解和电化学溶解的基础上,建立自然海水中铸铁点蚀的化学-电化学溶解模型,并推导出蚀坑内电压分布的方程式。此式表明,蚀坑内的电压取决于蚀坑内各类活性腐蚀因子的化学势梯度和相应粒子的电压降。试验结果表明,自然海水中铸铁表面钝化膜的诱发期的局部破坏与海生物的局部附着和生物粘膜下R(R=wCl-wOH-)值密切相关,在其蔓延生长过程中,蚀坑内外的电压降、蚀坑内活性粒子的活度和pH值密切相关。但自然海水中的卤素离子的存在和摩尔分数对铸铁点蚀影响最大。 相似文献

Selection of optimal threshold is the most crucial issue in threshold-based segmentation. In case of color image, this task is become challenging, because conventional color image segmentation has computational complexity and also it suffers from lack of accuracy. Various techniques such as threshold based, region growing, edge detection, graph cut, pixel classification, neural network, active contour, gray level co-occurrence matrix are proposed so far for image segmentation in the literature. Out of them, threshold-based segmentation is popular for its simplicity. To address the problem of color image segmentation, we propose an enhanced version of metaheuristic optimization algorithm called Opposition based Symbiotic Organisms Search (OSOS) to solve multilevel image thresholding technique for color image segmentation by introducing opposition based learning concepts to accelerate the convergence rate and enhance the performance of standard symbiotic organisms search (SOS). The performance of the proposed OSOS based algorithm is investigated thoroughly and compared with some existing techniques like Cuckoo Search (CS), BAT algorithm (BAT), artificial bee colony (ABC) and particle swarm optimization (PSO). The comparison is made by applying the algorithm to a set of color images taken from a well-known benchmark dataset (Berkeley Segmentation Dataset (BSDS)) and some of the color images collected for the COCO dataset. It is observed from the results that the performance of the OSOS based algorithm is promising with respect to standards SOS and others in terms of the values of objective functions as well as the values of some well-defined quality metrics such as peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), structure similarity index (SSIM) and feature similarity index (FSIM). In this paper, case analysis method is applied to subdivide fashion design categories and design techniques of Chinese national style fashion. The subdivided styles are as follows: the minority style, design based on Hanfu and Chinese-style clothing, Chinese national chic, Chinese national Haute Couture, and conceptual designs. These styles have various design expressions and techniques. Especially, the application degrees of traditional national elements are obviously different, which is reflected in the change from similitude to metaphysics. The minority style mostly follows the style, pattern and color matching of traditional national clothing. Design based on Hanfu and Chinese-style clothing, Chinese national chic and Chinese national Haute Couture have many creative designs with different emphasis. Modified Hanfu has rich detail changes. The design based on Chinese-style clothing has stable design style, and is mostly modified in parts. Chinese national chic stresses fashion expression mode. Chinese national Haute Couture integrates nationality with internationality. Conceptual design rarely directly uses specific national elements, but expresses the understanding of traditional national culture with indirect and abstract methods. © 2017 China Silk Association. The present and future of integrated coastal zone management (ICZM) in Europe is discussed with an emphasis on nature conservation. The position of nature conservation in physical planning and in legislation is discussed within the historical perspective of the Netherlands. With regard to the present position of nature conservation in planning and legislation, differences in Europe between the northwest, the south and the east are discussed. The roles of various organisations (such as NGOs, GOs, Universities and the European Union) in ICZM is briefly mentioned. The paper advocates a strong position for nature conservation in integrated coastal zone management if it is to be developed on a sustainable basis. 相似文献
