It is recognized by academics and the community of practice that the management of people plays an important role in project management. Recent people skills research expresses the need to develop a better understanding of what good people management is. This paper proposes what project management practitioners consider to be skills and behaviours of an effective people project manager. A combination of literature review, face to face interviews and focus group meetings was applied to complete the research objective. Six specific skills and associated behaviours were identified as being most important. The results suggest that project managers would benefit from adopting these skills and behaviours to strengthen their managing people skills and behaviours to improve the successful delivery of projects. The findings also suggest that some skill sets and behaviours may be more appropriate for application in certain project environments such as IT or the construction industry. 相似文献

The last 30 years have seen significant changes in UK national policies for building research and in their implementation. Each change has led to a new balance in the relative priorities of the needs of industry and those of the citizen. Quality-of-life issues have progressively given way to those of industrial efficiency, although more recently a concern for the long term implications of the built environment for the quality-of-life of the individual citizen, has re-emerged. An illustration is given by the EQUAL (Extend Quality Life) initiative which seeks to improve the experience of buildings and the environment of older people and of those with physical and mental impairments. Analysis of the nature of the research tasks underlying the two themes of competitiveness and quality-of-life raises questions about the future development of building research. Further issues are the future balance of priorities, the appropriateness of various approaches to prioritization and organization of research, quality and standards, and the need to broaden university courses to accommodate a better appreciation of quality-of-life issues. Au cours des 30 dernières années, les politiques nationales conduites par le Royaume-Uni en matière de recherchedans le secteur du b^acirc;timent et de mise en oeuvre des résultats obtenus ont considérablement évolué. Tous leschangements ont débouché sur un nouvel équilibre entre les priorités relatives des besoins de l'industrie et ceux ducitoyen. Les questions de qualité de vie ont peu à peu laissé la place à celles de l'efficacité industrielle. Il convient toutefois de remarquer que, depuis peu, on se préoccupe de nouveau des incidences à long terme du cadre bâti sur la qualité de vie de chacun. L'initiative EQUAL (Extend Quality Life), qui illustre cette tendance, vise à améliorer l'expérience acquise en matière de bâtiments ainsi que l'environnement des personnes âgées et des personnes souffrant d'infirmités physiques ou de déficience intellectuelle. L'analyse de la nature des activités de recherche dans les domaines de la compétitivé et de la qualité de vie suscite des questions quant à l'évolution de la recherche dans le secteur du bâtiment. Le futur équilibre des priorités, le bien-fondé des diverses méthodes d'établissement des priorités et d'organisation de la recherche, les questions de qualité et de normes tout comme la nécessité d'élargir le contenu des cours universitaires afin d'y inclure un enseignement permettant de mieux apprécier les problèmes de qualité de vie sont autant de questionnements nouveaux. 相似文献

随着轨道交通在城市公共交通中承担的客流量比重的提高,地铁已成为了人们日常出行最重要的交通工具之一,而目前已有的许多站点所存在的问题中人流组织方面的问题又十分突出,该文是关于人民广场地铁站空间形态与其人流交通组织的研究。通过调查发现:①乘客对于站点出入口选择是以到达目的地最方便为依据,和车站的外部空间形态以及内部连接方式的关系较弱;②车站内的单向人流组织在人流组织疏导上优于双向人流;③造成视线死角的隔墙会引起人流拥堵的问题;④在设计之初应当为将来可能出现的换乘状况有所考虑,合理组织人流,而不是事后通过设置栏杆对人流交通进行组织;⑤在验票口处预留的缓冲区域可根据推算相对应的出口的人流量获得合适的大小和尺寸。 相似文献

Electronic mentoring appears to have great potential for youth with special needs since it is an accessible communication medium that provides an opportunity to exchange practical information and support and to experience an accepting relationship with less prejudice. To date, few electronic mentoring intervention programs have been designed especially to support the psychological needs of youth with special needs. This paper presents the results of a study that evaluated an electronic mentoring intervention program designed to provide social and emotional support for protégés with disabilities by mentors who also have disabilities. Using a primarily qualitative research design, the study characterized the electronic mentoring process and its contributions to this population. The findings provided support for the potential of electronic mentoring for personal development and empowerment of youth with special needs. Furthermore, the findings supported the usability and utility of the e-mentoring intervention based on a conceptual framework that characterized an electronic support process for people with special needs. Implications for implementing feasible electronic mentoring programs are discussed. 相似文献

This study evaluates the impact of using the software program AudioMetro, a tool that supports the orientation and mobility of people who are blind in the Metro system of Santiago de Chile. A quasi-experimental study considering experimental and control groups and using the paired Student’s t in a two sample test analysis (pretest-posttest) was carried out to measure the learner’s performance and progress in the navigation through the Metro. Participants completed a number of cognitive tasks related to their navigation through the metro system using the tool designed. Results indicate that AudioMetro could be an adequate and complementary tool for the development of cognitive and sensory skills, which are fundamental axes for orientation and mobility. 相似文献

This work proposes a novel particle filter for tracking multiple people using multiple and heterogeneous cameras, namely monocular and stereo cameras. Our approach is to define confidence models and observation models for each type of camera. Particles are evaluated independently in each camera, and then the data are fused in accordance with the confidence. Confidence models take into account several sources of information. On the one hand, they consider occlusion information from an occlusion map calculated using a depth-ordered particle evaluation. On the other hand, the relative precision of sensors is considered so that the contribution of a sensor in the final data fusion step is proportional to its precision. We have defined confidence and observation models for monocular and stereo cameras and have designed tests to validate our proposal. The experiments show that our method is able to operate with each type individually and in combination. Two other remarkable properties of our method are that it is highly parallelizable and that it does not impose restrictions on the cameras’ positions or orientations. 相似文献

一种基于双椭圆模型的视频人数统计方法针对环境和背景较复杂的情况,实现了较密集人群和部分遮档的人流数统计。首先提取运动目标的外形轮廓,将外形拟合成椭圆,再根据先验知识在轮廓椭圆内拟合头部椭圆。如果外形和头部都能成功拟合成椭圆,就能简单确定出一个人体。当人群密集时,先将目标进行分割后,再进行基于双椭圆模型的目标识别。本方法适合镜头的垂直模式、倾抖模式、近景模式、远景模式,能够在鉴别人体与非人体的基础上统计人数。分别对静态图像和视频序列进行了仿真,结果表明,该方法能够准确地进行人数统计。 相似文献

In this article, factors influencing the motivation of software engineers is studied with the goal of guiding the definition of motivational programs.Method
Using a set of 20 motivational factors compiled in a systematic literature review and a general theory of motivation, a survey questionnaire was created to evaluate the influence of these factors on individual motivation. Then, the questionnaire was applied on a semi-random sample of 176 software engineers from 20 software companies located in Recife-PE, Brazil.Results
The survey results show the actual level of motivation for each motivator in the target population. Using principal component analysis on the values of all motivators, a five factor structure was identified and used to propose a guideline for the creation of motivational programs for software engineers.Conclusions
The five factor structure provides an intuitive categorization for the set of variables and can be used to explain other motivational models presented in the literature. This contributes to a better understanding of motivation in software engineering. 相似文献70.
