Diets,population structure,and seasonal activity patterns of mudpuppies (Necturus maculosus) in an urban,Great Lakes coastal habitat

Freshwater species native to the Laurentian Great Lakes region face numerous environmental stressors, and the conservation status and ecological relationships of many remain poorly understood. One such species, the mudpuppy (Necturus maculosus), is declining, but better information on their natural history and development of more effective population monitoring techniques is needed. We assessed seasonal variation in capture success, biases in capture techniques, and feeding ecology of mudpuppies in Wolf Lake, a highly perturbed and urban former estuarine wetland complex to Lake Michigan. Trapping periods of ≥ 3 consecutive nights occurred from January to May 2015, and October 2015 to March 2016. Overall trapping success differed among trapping periods (p = 0.01) and declined precipitously at water temperatures above 14.1 °C (p < 0.001). Mudpuppies in traps (mean 26.9 ± 0.5 cm) were larger than those caught with hand nets (mean 14.7 ± 0.8 cm, p < 0.0001), suggesting that multiple methods may be needed to accurately assess demographics. Stomach contents obtained through gastric lavage included mollusks, leeches, insects, isopods, amphipods, crayfish, fish, a frog, and a juvenile conspecific. Invasive species, including rusty crayfish (Orconectes rusticus), round gobies (Neogobius melanostomus), and zebra/quagga mussels (Dreissena spp.) were present in guts, suggesting mudpuppy foraging has changed along with aquatic communities in the region. Prey community analyses revealed differences in overall diet among size classes of mudpuppies (p = 0.001), but relatively weak similarity within size classes. Results suggest that mudpuppies in lake ecosystems occupy a broad niche that changes as they grow.

基于Kikuchi自洽迭代方法,利用有序-无序相变理论,并取最近邻相互作用近似,研究了Pb(Mg_((1+x)/2)Nb_((2-x)/2)O_3晶粒中在x=0.5时有序区形成的原因,提出Mg~(2+)∶Nb~(5+)=1∶1(离子数比)时,形成B位有序排列最为有利,并且弱的空间电荷场不影响这种有序排列的形成,同时给出了温度-组份的有序-无序相图。     

库水升降速率对老蛇窝滑坡稳定性影响分析

通过监测资料分析和滑坡稳定性数值计算,探讨了三峡库水位在不同升降速率下对老蛇窝滑坡稳定性的影响规律。研究结果表明,理论上库水位上升有利于老蛇窝滑坡的稳定,但实际运行中库水位上升是不利于滑坡稳定的,因为库水浸泡会使滑坡前缘塌岸;老蛇窝滑坡为动水压力型滑坡,最主要诱发因素为库水位的下(骤)降;老蛇窝滑坡稳定性的临界库水位调度速率为0.9 m/d,即当库水位下降速率大于0.9 m/d时,滑坡K值小于1。     

Deformation similarity measurement in quasi-conformal shape space

This paper presents a novel approach based on the shape space concept to classify deformations of 3D models. A new quasi-conformal metric is introduced which measures the curvature changes at each vertex of each pose during the deformation. The shapes with similar deformation patterns follow a similar deformation curve in shape space. Energy functional of the deformation curve is minimized to calculate the geodesic curve connecting two shapes on the shape space manifold. The geodesic distance illustrates the similarity between two shapes, which is used to compute the similarity between the deformations. We applied our method to classify the left ventricle deformations of myopathic and control subjects, and the sensitivity and specificity of our method were 88.8% and 85.7%, which are higher than other methods based on the left ventricle cavity, which shows our method can quantify the similarity and disparity of the left ventricle motion well.

根据空间科学研究对交互性和Web化的发展需求,将Java 3D应用于该领域。深入剖析了Java 3D的主要几何类和实现细节;改进并实现了一种矩形网格等值线生成算法,解决了二义性和等值点在网格顶点的问题;介绍了一种生成规则网格的简单算法,并选用合适的Java 3D类加以实现;介绍了一种数值———颜色映射算法,并将空间环境数据映射为RGB颜色信息。综合运用这些算法,对地球空间环境中若干物理要素模型进行了二维和三维可视化。可视化结果与国内外空间环境模型研究成果基本一致,说明上述算法正确,有较高的参考价值。     

PROJECTION MODULUS: A NEW DIRECTION FOR SELECTING SUBSET AUTOREGRESSIVE MODELS

Selecting a parsimonious subset autoregressive time series model is a valuable objective particularly where there is or may be evidence that a time series may have some form of periodic or quasi-periodic behaviour. An efficient model selection procedure is essential because of the large number of possible alternative models involved. The explanation of an increase in residual variance due to excluding a lag is examined in Hilbert space. As a result, a new statistic, the projection modulus , and its derivatives are developed to assess the significance of any lag in a model. The impact of deleting a lag, as measured by these statistics, helps to produce a selection procedure where true lags have less chance of being removed. We then assess an efficient subset autoregressive model selection procedure employing these statistics. The success of the proposed procedure is illustrated by its efficiency in identifying the true model for simulated and real data.
