Displacement Discontinuity Method for Fracture Mechanics Analysis of Reissner Plates: Static and Dynamic

This paper is concerned with the displacement discontinuity method applied to the shear deformable plates (Reissner’s and Mindlin’s theories) with cracks subjected to static and dynamic loads. Fundamental solutions of dislocation are derived using the Fourier transform method and the Laplace transformation technique. Boundary integral equations are presented in terms of rotations/displacement on the crack surfaces. The Chebyshev polynomials of the second kind are used to evaluate the integral equations with hypersingular kernels on the crack boundaries and determine the stress intensity factors at the crack tips. Comparisons are made with other numerical solutions to demonstrate the proposed method is accurate both for static and dynamic problems.

Influence of Ni Interlayers on the Mechanical Properties of Ti6Al4V/(WC-Co) Friction Welds

Ni interlayers were introduced prior to dissimilar friction welding of Ti6Al4V base material to three cemented carbide substrates. The fracture strength of Ti6Al4V/(WC-6 wt% Co) welds were poor and were markedly improved when 20-µm thick Ni interlayers were introduced prior to dissimilar friction welding. These results were only produced when the (WC-6 wt% Co) cermet was electroplated prior to friction welding. When the Ti6Al4V alloy was electroplated prior to friction welding, fractured WC particles and cracking were observed in the (WC-Co) carbide substrate. The fracture strengths of Ti6Al4V/(WC-11 wt% Co) and Ti6Al4V/(WC-24 wt% Co) welds were not improved when 20-µm thick Ni interlayers were introduced prior to friction welding. During mechanical testing, the Ni layer retained at the dissimilar joint interface created a region of weakness.     

硬地层定向井中几种侧钻方法的灵活应用

在川渝地区，钻定向井、水平井必然要面对地层岩性变化大、硬度高等复杂地质情况，常常会遇到因井下复杂、事故、修改地质目标等原因需要填井侧钻。侧钻的方法不同，侧钻的成功率和效率差异很大。文中分析了川渝地区近几年硬地层定向井、水平井侧钻效率不高、有时甚至失败的原因，归纳总结了近几年常用的几种侧钻方法的施工效果，提出要根据具体条件灵活应用这几种侧钻方法。     

Stress State of Bent Buried Pipelines

The authors consider edge effects in buried pipelines that occur in the region of joining of a straight buried pipe and a bent insert (factory bend, elbow, or an elastically bent segment). The action of those effects results in the appearance of additional bending moments, which are proportional to the difference between the axial force in an infinite straight pipeline and that in a closed-end pipe, and depend on the geometrical parameters of the pipeline and physical-mechanical characteristics of the soil. Specific examples of analysis of elastic interaction of a pipeline with the soil for pipe bends with various radii of the bend arc are offered. It is shown that additional bending stresses may exceed appreciably the stresses from the axial force, and therefore, they should be taken into account when designing and building pipelines. The solution for an elastically bent segment has been obtained and analyzed.     

Dynamic stiffness vibration analysis using a high‐order beam model

This work presents the derivation of the exact dynamic stiffness matrix for a high‐order beam element. The terms are found directly from the solutions of the differential equations that describe the deformations of the cross‐section according to the high‐order theory, which include cubic variation of the axial displacements over the cross‐section of the beam. The model has six degrees of freedom at the two ends, one transverse displacement and two rotations, and the end forces are a shear force and two end moments. Using the dynamic stiffness matrix exact vibration frequencies for beams with various combinations of boundary conditions are tabulated and compared with results from the Bernoulli–Euler and Timoshenko beam models. 具有初曲率板弯曲的边界元分析

由于具有初曲率板弯曲问题的控制微分方程较复杂，直接求解原问题基本解推导边界积分方程较为困难。本文通过引入等效荷载，将此问题的控制微分方程化成与普通板弯曲基本方程形式相同的微分方程，利用一般求解板弯曲问题的边界元法迭代求解，建立了分析具有初曲率板弯曲问题的边界元法。算例表明本方法理论准确、精度良好。     

TiAl＋Sb合金的热稳定性的研究

研究了退火处理对Ｔｉ－３４ｗｔ．％Ａｌ－０．５ｗｔ．％Ｓｂ合金的室温抗弯性能，显微组织，相组成和断口形貌的影响。发现，低于１０００℃退火处理，ＴｉＡｌ＋Ｓｂ合金的显微组织没有变化，其力学性能仍然保持较高的值。此合金成分适应高温使用条件。     

MICROSTRUCTURE AND FATIGUE PROPERTIES OF A WELDED DUPLEX STAINLESS STEEL

Abstract— In response to the increasing structural applications in duplex steels for welded structures, fatigue behaviour of a SAF 2304 grade duplex stainless steel was investigated, considering both the base metal and GTAW welded joints. Fatigue curves and fatigue limits under rotary bending fatigue were obtained. The study focused attention on the microstructural features of fatigue crack propagation of the two series of experiments, thereby permitting an evaluation of the tortuous crack path of welded joints and the mechanisms related to threshold microstructural barriers.
