Interconnected power systems with superconducting magnetic energy storage

The objective of this work is to discuss the concept of back‐to‐back interconnection systems with energy storage, especially with a Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage (SMES) incorporated into a back‐to‐back DC link. In this case, each converter of the back‐to‐back system is used as a power conditioning system for the SMES coils. Since the AC–DC converter can be designed independently of the frequency of the power system, a two‐way switch is connected to the AC side of each converter. This two‐way switch can select the interconnected power systems. By using the two‐way switches, this system can provide the stored energy in the SMES system to each interconnected power system through two AC–DC converters. For instance, lower‐cost power of each power network can be stored through two converters during the off‐peak hours and made available for dispatch to each power network during periods of demand peak. Then this system increases the reliability of electric power networks and enables the economical operations depending on the power demand. This paper describes the unique operations of the back‐to‐back interconnection with SMES and discuses the optimal SMES configuration for a 300‐MW‐class back‐to‐back interconnection. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 6to4与ISATAP技术相结合的IPv6网络实现

在IPv4向IPv6过渡期间,多种过渡技术可以互相支持、互相组合使用,以达到互利互助。简要介绍了其中2种隧道技术:6to4技术和ISATAP技术,提出了1种基于两者结合的新型实验网络的实现方案。具体讨论了在Linux下如何组建这种新型实验网络平台,详细阐明了如何配置IPv6主机以及双栈路由器,为IPv4过渡到IPv6提供1个可行的方案。

Siblings' differential experiences of marital conflict and differences in psychological adjustment.

The present study examined whether siblings experience marital conflict differently and whether such differences, if present, were associated with differences in their adjustment. Self-report data about marital conflict, children's depressed mood, behavioral conduct, and externalizing problems were obtained from 122 sibling pairs (mean ages = 10 and 12 years) and their parents. Results indicated that siblings were significantly different in exposure to and appraisals of marital conflict. Differences in siblings' exposure to marital conflict were significantly correlated with differences in their depressed mood, behavioral conduct, and externalizing problems. Differences in siblings' feelings of self-blame for marital conflict were significantly correlated with differences in their depressed mood and behavioral conduct. Children who experienced more marital conflict than their siblings had more adjustment problems than their siblings. These results highlight the importance of studying siblings' unique experiences of marital conflict to better understand its impact on children's adjustment. Multi-step transformation in numerical renormalization group

We compute the temperature dependent magnetic susceptibility of the single-impurity, two-channel Anderson model with an alternative multi-step numerical renormalization-group transformation, previously applied only to the two-impurity single-channel Kondo model. Compared with the traditional transformation, the new procedure requires substantially less memory and computational time, and opens therefore perspectives for the application of the numerical renormalization-group procedure to more complex Hamiltonians.

Matlab语言强大的运算、仿真能力，被广泛用在液压控制系统中。利用Matlab语言可以进行液压特性曲线的绘制，液压控制系统稳定性的检测，也可以进行液压控制系统的仿真。这里以两个实例，即单、双喷嘴挡板阀压力流量特性曲线的绘制，以及液压转矩放大器系统稳定性的检测，来说明它的强大的功能。

根据钢筋混凝土结构中非正常裂缝的种类，分析了各种裂缝的产生原因，并有针对性地提出了应对措施，以保证建筑物和构件安全和稳定地工作。     

A Daily Diary Validity Test of Drinking to Cope Measures.

Data from 2 daily diary studies of stress, negative affect, and drinking were used to examine the correspondence between global self-reports of drinking to cope (DTC) and within-person stress/negative affect-drinking associations. In Study 1, 83 community-residing drinkers recorded data in nightly booklets on negative events, perceived stress, negative affect, and drinking for 60 consecutive days. In Study 2, 88 community-residing drinkers recorded data on negative events and negative interpersonal exchanges nightly and negative affect and drinking in near-real time on palmtop computers for 30 consecutive days. Both studies showed only modest correspondence between self-reported DTC and between-person differences in within-day, daily, and weekly associations between stress/negative affect and drinking. The findings indicate that individuals who report higher DTC simply may drink across a wider variety of conditions than those who report relatively lower DTC.
