Accelerating filtering techniques for numeric CSPs

Search algorithms for solving Numeric CSPs (Constraint Satisfaction Problems) make an extensive use of filtering techniques. In this paper¹ we show how those filtering techniques can be accelerated by discovering and exploiting some regularities during the filtering process. Two kinds of regularities are discussed, cyclic phenomena in the propagation queue and numeric regularities of the domains of the variables. We also present in this paper an attempt to unify numeric CSPs solving methods from two distinct communities, that of CSP in artificial intelligence, and that of interval analysis.

An on-line microcomputer-based respiratory monitor for manual materials handling

The main objective of the present study is to develop a low cost microcomputer-based respiratory system that is capable of computing the oxygen consumption and minute ventilation of individuals engaged in manual materials handling on an on-line basis. The design, specifications, and merits of the system are given. The software package developed was written in assembly language for the IBM AT personal computer.     

Kanga(ROO): Handling the micro-DST of the BaBar experiment with ROOT

A system based on ROOT for handling the micro-DST of the BaBar experiment is described. The purpose of the Kanga system is to have micro-DST data available in a format well suited for data distribution within a world-wide collaboration with many small sites. The design requirements, implementation and experience in practice after three years of data taking by the BaBar experiment are presented.     

阜新市细河改造工程坝基渗漏计算及处理效果分析

阜新市细河改造工程由四座橡胶坝和两岸防洪大堤组成，由于堤(坝)基第四系冲洪积层广泛发育，存在渗漏同题。合理选择施工处理方案，是工程成功的关键。作者根据场区不同的地质条件环境条件采取有针对性的不同处理方案，既解决了防渗问题又缩短了施工工期，降低工程造价，取得了很好的经济效益和社会效益。     

AlNiCo52磁钢外观质量的改善

本研究在确保磁性能不降低的前提下，通过添加少量的添加元素或化合物，如难熔金属，稀土金属，稀土氧化物、钙化合物等，明显改善了定向结晶AlNiCo52（简称五类定向）磁钢的外观，有效地避免了铸造缺陷，从而大幅度地降低了生产成本，提高了生产效益。     

New Tractable Classes From Old

The constraint satisfaction problem is known to be NP-hard in general, but a number of restrictions of the problem have been identified over the years which ensure tractability. This paper introduces two simple methods of combining two or more tractable classes over disjoint domains, in order to synthesise larger, more expressive tractable classes. We demonstrate that the classes so obtained are genuinely novel, and have not been previously identified. In addition, we use algebraic techniques to extend the tractable classes which we identify, and to show that the algorithms for solving these extended classes can be less than obvious.     

几何设计约束的表示与满足问题研究
