本研究旨在探讨工作记忆广度和语言水平差异在中国英语学习者对隐喻句这一特定句型理解的影响。通过英语工作记忆广 度、英语语言水平及英语隐喻理解的研究测试发现,中国英语学习者的英语工作记忆广度、英语语言水平与其隐喻理解能力高度 相关,工作记忆和语言水平高低两组t 检验结果均呈显著性差异。工作记忆广度及语言水平是影响中国英语学习者隐喻理解的两 大因素,故英语学习者可以通过知识面拓展及工作记忆训练来提高自己的隐喻理解能力。  相似文献

There are many studies that offer different opinions on the effects of hypertext usage as an educational tool. Given the differences of opinion, it is useful to research the effects of metaphor usage in hypertext education and the use of hypertext as an educational tool. In this study, the effects of metaphors' uses in constructing the characteristics of the hypertext teaching have been approved. A between-group design experiment was conducted to study the effects of four metaphors on four different groups. Survey results emphasise the importance of metaphor usage and the manner in which metaphor is used. It was also discovered that metaphor usage in the hypertext teaching affects the construction duration of the hypertext but does not have any effects on the acquisition of knowledge.  相似文献

We present an algorithm for learning from unlabeled text, based on the Vector Space Model (VSM) of information retrieval, that can solve verbal analogy questions of the kind found in the SAT college entrance exam. A verbal analogy has the form A:B::C:D, meaning “A is to B as C is to D”; for example, mason:stone::carpenter:wood. SAT analogy questions provide a word pair, A:B, and the problem is to select the most analogous word pair, C:D, from a set of five choices. The VSM algorithm correctly answers 47% of a collection of 374 college-level analogy questions (random guessing would yield 20% correct; the average college-bound senior high school student answers about 57% correctly). We motivate this research by applying it to a difficult problem in natural language processing, determining semantic relations in noun-modifier pairs. The problem is to classify a noun-modifier pair, such as “laser printer”, according to the semantic relation between the noun (printer) and the modifier (laser). We use a supervised nearest-neighbour algorithm that assigns a class to a given noun-modifier pair by finding the most analogous noun-modifier pair in the training data. With 30 classes of semantic relations, on a collection of 600 labeled noun-modifier pairs, the learning algorithm attains an F value of 26.5% (random guessing: 3.3%). With 5 classes of semantic relations, the F value is 43.2% (random: 20%). The integration of language and vision capabilities in computers can be seen purely as a multi-media task without any theoretical assumptions being required. However, it is worth exploring whether the modalities have anything serious in common, in particular in the light of claim that most non-technical language use is metaphorical. What consequences would that have for the underlying relationship of language and vision: is it possible that vision is largely metaphorical? The conclusion (see also, Wilks 1978b and Wilks and Okada (in press) is that visual processing can embody structural ambiguity (whether compositional or not), but not anything analogous to metaphor. Metaphor is essentially connected with the extension of sense and only symbols can have senses. But if it makes no sense to say a figure can be metaphorical (unless it embodies symbolic elements) that must also mean, alas, that it makes no sense to say it is literally anything either. Only a symbol can be literally something. A hat is a hat is a hat, but never, ever literally so.  相似文献

目的基于通感认知探究声音要素对用户感知的影响,为人机交互中的声音反馈提供设计指导。方法基于通感的意向图式理论,设置三维手势对声音的同步运动实验,以量表对声音指向性进行评价,并以手势动作对声音的主观感知进行表达,统计分析实验数据,结合用户手势分析声音要素变化对用户体验的影响。结果声音的要素变化导致用户对声音的感知发生变化,从而影响用户的交互行为,响度和音调是主要影响因素。结论低音音调和中度响度要素的声音能给予用户较好的声音感知体验,自然交互中,声音反馈的应用可以引导用户进行有效的交互,提升用户的交互效率和操作体验。  相似文献

The transposition from painting to architecture from two-dimensional entity to a spatial structure, became the core idea of a project designed for the students of architecture to encourage them to examine the possibilities of abstract expression in the conceptualisation of architectural ideas and strategies. A series of tasks were created to enable them to identify full expression and physical presence of movement in an abstract painting as transferable into architecture. There were then other tasks oriented towards discovering, investigating and recording various types of spatial conditions as potentially architectural. Fundamental issues related to Jackson Pollock's philosophy of painting are now finding a new dimension in the digital domain of 3D modelling techniques, supplying them with the tool capable of not only projecting the release of pure energy in virtual space but also of recording endless sequences of free gestures in time and space. These can then be rewritten in the form of a computer program as well as being controlled on a higher level of architectural design.  相似文献
