An alternative test method to the traditional 180° “T” peel test has been developed for the measurement of interlaminar bonding in three-ply (polyester/aluminium/polypropylene) flexible-packaging, laminate materials. The new test is thought to involve mixed mode I (opening) and mode II (shearing) failure, and takes into account the yielding of the polypropylene layer during testing. The method allows more direct comparisons between materials to be made, and allows the measurement of strong bonds, where a peel test would result in yield or fracture of the substrate arms before debonding.  相似文献

Hydraulic concrete structures frequently experience long-term abrasive erosion by water-borne sand, resulting in surface damage and eventually limiting their service life. In this study, the investigation of abrasion erosion tests on concrete with various water to cementitious material ratios (w/cm) was performed. The effects of the constituent materials on concrete structure abrasion erosion resistance were studied. The test results show that: (1) reduction in the w/cm ratio increases the tested concrete abrasion resistance; (2) the splitting tensile strength is a viable indicator for concrete abrasion resistance; (3) high permeability concrete exhibits weak abrasion resistance; and (4) concrete and low strength concrete made with coarser aggregate exhibit greater abrasion resistance.  相似文献

An excimer laser may be used for preadhesion treatment of aluminum alloys. This method presents an alternative to the use of ecologically unfriendly chemicals involved in conventional anodizing pretreatments.

Experimental results indicate that preadhesion laser surface treatment significantly improved the shear strength of modified-epoxy bonded aluminum specimens compared with untreated and anodized substrates. The best results were obtained with laser energy of about 0.2 J/Pulse/cm2 where single lap shear strength was improved by 600-700% compared with that of untreated Al alloy, and by 40% compared with chromic acid anodizing pretreatment.

The mode of failure changed from adhesive to cohesive as the number of laser pulses increased during treatment. The latter phenomenon has been correlated with morphology changes as revealed by electron microscopy, and chemical modification as indicated by Auger and infrared spectroscopy.

It can be concluded that the excimer laser has potential as a precise, clean and simple preadhesion treatment of Al alloys.  相似文献

The overall performance and reliability of composite materials are, in most cases, dependent upon the behaviour of the reinforcement-matrix interface, particularly upon its ability to transfer stress.

A theory for predicting thermodynamic conditions for the maximum and zero-adhesion at the reinforcement-matrix interface is tested in this paper, based on experimental data. Proposed is a model of the relationship between mechanical properties of composite materials (tensile strength, flexural strength, Young's modulus and impact resistance) and energetic properties of matrix and reinforcement expressed by the energy ratio a = γl2.  相似文献

The effect of miscible low molecular weight additives on the mobility of the carbonate group in bisphenol-A polycarbonate (BPAPC) has been studied using n.m.r. and dielectric relaxation experiments in the solid state. Proton-enhanced dipolar-decoupled carbon-13 n.m.r. spectra of BPAPC, isotopically enriched at the carbonate position, are obtained without magic-angle sample spinning. The resolved chemical shift anisotropy allows study of nuclear spin relaxation for the carbonate groups in the polymer that have different orientations relative to the static magnetic field in the laboratory frame. The spin-lattice relaxation time in the rotating frame (T1?) is measured at a motional-probe frequency of 50 kHz for the undiluted polymer and for BPAPC-diluent blends containing either dibutylphthalate or dinitrobiphenyl. The T1? exhibits some dependence on orientation in all systems studied. In the blend containing dibutylphthalate (DBP), T1? is decreased by a factor of two for all orientations of the carbonate group. This implies that DBP substantially increases the spectral density of 50 kHz motions in the carbonate region of the polymer at ambient temperature. In contrast, dinitrobiphenyl does not significantly alter the Fourier component of thermal fluctuations at 50 kHz. Dielectric relaxation measurements at 10 kHz reveal that the primary (Tg) and secondary (β) motional processes in BPAPC are affected by low molecular weight additives. An intermediate relaxation process appears in the temperature interval between the glass transition temperature (Tg) and the sub-Tg β-relaxation (Tβ) in the polymer-diluent blends. The n.m.r. spin-lattice relaxation rate in the rotating frame, T?11?, correlates well with the relative magnitude of the dielectric dissipation factor (tan δε) between Tg and Tβ.  相似文献

A mathematical model to predict the strength of a coke manufactured from a blend of coals is proposed. The model operates in terms of ‘bond strengths’ between the constituents. The magnitudes of these bond strengths may be determined from the strengths of cokes manufactured from the individual constituents and from a limited number of binary blends. The model has been applied to predictions of the M10 index of coke strength for binary and ternary blends, and the predictions are in reasonable agreement with the experimental data. In particular, the model is able to account for the behaviour of incompatible coals and bridging coals in blends.  相似文献

将所研制的层状表面相锆基固体酸催化剂用于一元、二元醇醋酸酯和其他羧酸酯类产品的合成 ,考察了其催化性能。研究发现 :层状表面相锆基固体酸催化剂对所考察的酯化反应具有很好的普遍适用性 ,但其酯化率与醇的性质和结构密切有关。催化反应动力学研究表明乙酸与丁醇、戊醇、己醇的酯化反应均为二级反应 ,且反应活化能均较低 ,分别为 47 4kJ/mol、2 3 3kJ/mol和 19 8kJ/mo  相似文献
