Using ecological momentary assessment to measure participation: A preliminary study.

Purpose/Objective: Participation is emerging as the gold standard of outcome measurement in disability and rehabilitation, but there are few methods for measuring it. This article describes the development of a dynamic measure of participation that uses the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health as the framework for measure development and ecological momentary assessment (EMA) as the data collection methodology. Research Method/Design: Researchers programmed personal data assistants to prompt 5 residents of a rural community to report their location, activity, social contact, environmental barriers and facilitators, secondary conditions, and ratings of community connectedness and fulfillment. Results: Overall, 5 participants reported data on 1,352 engagements over 7 weeks. Participants reported greater community connectedness and fulfillment when they spent time with others, were not home, and were not experiencing barriers or secondary conditions. Conclusions/Implications: EMA measures and methodology are 1 step in answering questions about participation within the ecological framework of disability. 基于正则形理论的电力系统2阶模态谐振的研究

应用向量场正则形理论对电力系统2阶模态谐振现象进行了研究，并对发生2阶谐振时系统动态特性和稳定性所受到的影响进行了分析。在模态空间，从识别主导低频振荡模式出发，通过分析模式间的非线性相关作用以及模式和状态变量之间的非线性相关性来确定由谐振所强烈激励的状态变量和相关发电机。8机系统的算例结果验证了在模态2阶谐振情况下系统非线性振荡将加剧、动态特性和稳定性将变化的正确性。该方法揭示了以往稳定分析中没有触及的一些新问题，得到了一些新观点，为更深入地研究电力系统内部的非线性结构特性奠定了基础。     

Physical self-concept and self-esteem mediate cross-sectional relations of physical activity and sport participation with depression symptoms among adolescent girls.

The authors tested whether physical self-concept and self-esteem would mediate cross-sectional relations of physical activity and sport participation with depression symptoms among 1,250 girls in 12th grade. There was a strong positive relation between global physical self-concept and self-esteem and a moderate inverse relation between self-esteem and depression symptoms. Physical activity and sport participation each had an indirect, positive relation with global physical self-concept that was independent of objective measures of cardiorespiratory fitness and body fatness. These correlational findings provide initial evidence suggesting that physical activity and sport participation might reduce depression risk among adolescent girls by unique, positive influences on physical self-concept that operate independently of fitness, body mass index, and perceptions of sports competence, body fat, and appearance. Beyond hearing: Where the real-world and online support meet.

A random sample survey of an online self-help group for people with hearing loss was conducted. Two factors predicted active participation in the group: a lack of real-world social support and being comparatively effective (having less disability, coping more effectively, and using real-world professional services). More active participation in the group was associated with more benefits from the group and stronger reports of community orientation. The authors also found evidence that integration of online and real-world support (if it existed) benefited participants. That is, if supportive family and friends in the real world shared the online group with participants, participants reported above average benefits, whereas if supportive family and friends were uninvolved in the online group, participants reported below average benefits.
