Complete oxidation of methane at low temperature over Pt and Pd catalysts for the abatement of lean-burn natural gas fuelled vehicles emissions: influence of water and sulphur containing compounds

The catalytic activity of fresh Pd and Pt catalysts supported on γ-alumina in the complete oxidation of CH₄ traces under lean-burn conditions was studied in the presence or the absence of water or H₂S. Steam-aged catalysts were also studied in order to simulate long-term ageing in real lean-burn natural gas fuelled vehicles (NGVs) exhaust conditions. Without water or H₂S added to the feed, Pd catalysts exhibit a superior catalytic activity in methane oxidation compared to Pt ones, whatever the catalysts were fresh or aged. The addition of 10 vol.% water vapour to the feed strongly affects the activity of the fresh Pd catalyst, thus being only slightly more efficient than the fresh Pt one. H₂S has a strong poisoning effect on the catalytic activity of Pd catalysts, while Pt catalysts are more resistant. The fresh H₂S-poisoned Pd/Al₂O₃ catalyst was studied by TPD in O₂/He. Poisoning species decompose above 873 K as SO₂ and O₂ in relative concentrations consistent with the decomposition of surface sulphate species. However, a treatment in O₂/He at temperatures as high as 923 K does not allow the complete regeneration of the catalytic activity of H₂S-poisoned Pd/Al₂O₃. A mechanism involving the poisoning of PdO by sulphate species is proposed. Different diffusion processes by which these sulphate species can migrate back and forth between PdO and the support, depending on the experimental conditions, are suggested.     

Pile Response Adjacent to Braced Excavation

The excavation of soil for the construction of basements or cut-and-cover tunnels results in ground movements. One particular concern is that the excavation-induced lateral soil movements may adversely affect any nearby pile foundation. The lateral loads imposed by the soil movements induce bending moments and deflections in the pile, which may lead to structural distress and failure. This paper presents the results of an actual full-scale instrumented study that was carried to examine the behavior of an existing pile due to nearby excavation activities resulting from the construction of a 16 m deep cut-and-cover tunnel. The pile was located 3 m behind a 0.8 m thick diaphragm wall. Excavation to the formation level that was 16 m below the ground surface resulted in a maximum lateral pile movement of 28 mm. A simplified numerical procedure based on the finite-element method was used to analyze the pile response. Generally, the theoretical predictions were in reasonable agreement with the measured results.

Transport of chromium(VI) through a Cyanex 921‐supported liquid membrane from HCl solutions

The transport of chromium(VI) through a flat‐sheet supported liquid membrane containing Cyanex 921 as a carrier has been investigated. The permeation of the metal is investigated as a function of various experimental variables: hydrodynamic conditions, concentration of chromium(VI) and HCl in the feed phase, carrier concentration and diluent in the membrane and strippant concentration in the stripping phase. The mass transfer coefficient and the thickness of the aqueous boundary layer were calculated from the experimental data. Furthermore, the selectivity of Cyanex 921‐based flat‐sheet supported liquid membrane towards different metal ions and the behaviour of the system against other carriers are presented. 乙基叔丁基醚/β分子筛膜反应精馏

研究了混合碳四和乙醇合成乙基叔丁基醚(ETBE)的反应精馏过程。实验以支撑β分子筛膜为催化精馏元件，异丁烯转化率高达95％，回流比和醇烯摩尔比是影响异丁烯转化率的主要因素。与甲基叔丁基醚(MTBE)的反应精馏过程相比，以乙醇取代甲醇，只需对MTBE生产的操作条件作一些简单的调整，就可在其生产装置上合成ETBE。

柘林水电站第二溢洪道,在鼻坎先于下部截墙施工中,为了满足当年泄洪,施工先沿截墙自上而下挖掘交通竖井,支撑牢固,安设好提升设备并打通墙底导洞后,再自下而上分层扩挖及浇筑砼.开挖采用登渣作业,出渣用可伸缩手柄架子车经吊篮提升.墙顶砼浇筑,通过预留在鼻坎内的下料小井进料.     

分析再热器超温爆漏与水冷壁结焦控制量的关系

文章介绍了宝钢自备电厂在改善锅炉燃烧工况，控制锅炉水冷壁结焦所采取的技术措施，分析了锅炉水冷壁结焦量与锅炉二次再热器烟气出口平均温度的关系，为解决锅炉水冷壁结焦所引发的二次再热器超温爆漏问题提供了依据。

为研制性能好，功能强，微机化学程度高的轻便型γ能谱测井仪，针对非油气测井工作的井口径小（〈φ６０ｍｍ）井身浅（〈１０００ｍ）等特点，探讨了γ能谱测井仪的轻便化，测量精度，信号传输技术，稳谱技术及微机化等关键技术问题。     

冷轧厂酸洗机组3号横剪大流量中高压液压系统设计方案探讨

在宝钢２０３０ｍｍ冷轧厂酸洗机组中，为了满足厚规格ＩＦ钢的生产，拟将原有的气动式剪切机改成液压式剪切机。为此，设计了一套中高压大流量的液压系统以满足３号横剪大剪切力（最高达７００ｋＮ）和快速剪切（３秒／次）的需要。由于采用了蓄能器增速回路和二通插装阀控制技术，使该液压系统较传统的剪切机液压系统具有响应速度快、体积小、重量轻、发热少和降低电机能耗等优点。
