Open sun drying has lost its previous importance due to the fact that different factors affect its reliability and the quality of the products obtained.
One of the set-backs for the analysis of solar drying exoeriments is their deoendence on a non-controlled source of energy, i.e. solar radiation depends on climatic conditions and experiments are difficult to compare. It is thus necessary to investigate the advantages of a particular set up as well as the climatic influences. Open sun drying could constitute the natural reference, allowing the comparison of different drying strategies.
A new way of standardizing drying times, based on solar radiation inout, is proposed, to allow better evaluation of the experiments. An equivalent time is defined, allowing comparison of experiments carried out under different circumstances. Carrots and potatoes were used in these experiments.
The use of the average daily solar radiation 15.28 MJ m-2.d-1 in Palma de Mallorca (39.33°N, 2.37°E), is proposed for comparison purposes. An improvement of more than 12 % in the explained variance was observed, the unexplained variance being lower than 1 %. 相似文献

In this article, the influence of base resistance on extracting thermal resistance for SiGe heterojunction bipolar transistors is studied and an improved approach for determining the junction temperature and thermal resistance is presented. The proposed method for extracting thermal resistance is based on the temperature sensitivity of the base–emitter (B–E) voltage when the device is biased with a fixed emitter current density. This approach not only takes into account the self‐heating during the different ambient temperature measurement but also revises the empirical equation of B–E voltage due to the influence of base resistance during the power dissipation increment measurement. Results are obtained for devices with different emitter lengths and fingers. Compared with the conventional method, the thermal resistance is about up to 15% improvement for the device with 0.3 × 1.9 μm2 emitter area and 13.8% for the device with 0.3 × 13.9 μm2 emitter area. A microsecond-resolution pulse heating technique was used for the measurement of the heat of fusion of titanium and a titanium alloy (90Ti-6Al-4V). The method is based on rapid (50- to 100-s) resistive self-heating of the specimen by a high-current pulse from a capacitor discharge system and measuring, as functions of time, current through the specimen, voltage across the specimen, and radiance of the specimen. Melting of the specimen is manifested by a plateau in the measured radiance. The time integral of the net power absorbed by the specimen during melting yields the heat of fusion. The values obtained for heat of fusion were 272 J · g–1 (13.0 kJ · mol–1) for titanium and 286 J · g–1 for the alloy 90Ti-6Al-4V, with an estimated maximum uncertainty of ±6% in each value.Paper presented at the Second Workshop on Subsecond Thermophysics, September 20–21, 1990, Torino, Italy. 相似文献
