Reviews the book The First Idea: How Symbols, Language and Intelligence Evolved From Our Primate Ancestors to Modern Humans, by Stanley I. Greenspan and Stuart G. Shanker (see record 2004-17062-000). In a sweeping and engrossing text, speckled with colourful anecdotes and real life examples, Greenspan and Shanker outline their ambitious theory that encompasses both development within a lifetime and evolution over millennia. They rightfully point out that emotions and social interaction have been neglected variables in the search for the origin of ideas and language. Their thesis places these factors, encapsulated in the affective caregiving relationship, as the primary instigators of developmental change. In their evaluation of human evolution, Greenspan and Shanker argue that with increased emotional communication there are tandem increases in symbolic thinking. Following their sweeping overview of human evolution, Greenspan and Shanker move to development within the individual. They argue that it is through emotional signaling that infants develop symbolic thought. The authors offer a comprehensive theory that brings emotional interaction solidly into the realm of scientific debate. It is also a theory with the enormous potential to contribute to the understanding of the beginnings of ideas and language both in individual and in evolutionary development. 一种基于图元结构关系的电气草图符号识别方法

针对手绘草图符号不规则以及模糊的特点造成对其识别难度较高的问题,对手绘电气草图符号的特点、符号的笔划分割、图元类型的判别、图元间的结构关系、符号间相似度的类型等方面进行了研究,提出了一种基于图元结构关系的手绘电气草图符号识别方法。根据手绘电气草图符号的特点,首先对手绘电气草图符号进行了笔画分割,将其分解成了若干基本图元;然后用属性关系图描述出了手绘电气草图符号单个图元的信息以及图元间的结构关系,提出了一种基于属性关系图的电气草图符号匹配相似度计算方法;最后通过计算待识别符号与模板库符号之间的相似度,达到了手绘电气草图符号识别的目的。研究结果表明:可以构建一个有效的、可训练的、多线条的符号识别器,并且不受符号方向、大小和笔画顺序的影响,能够取得良好的识别效果。     

电子图板的图库技术在化工设备设计中的应用

化工设备中很多零部件具有相似的结构,而尺寸则是系列化的标准尺寸,实现这些结构的参数化绘图,能降低设计人员的劳动强度,提高绘图速度和质量;国产软件电子图版的图库技术,可以很好地实现这个目的,以筒体为例,介绍了常见零部件的参数化绘图方法。     

Seeing the self “in frame”: early new england material practice and puritan piety

I offer here a set of observations about the use of pictures in the Puritan devotional practice of self-examination. Specifically, I consider a cluster of seventeenth- and early-eighteenth-century gravestone carvings and one oil painting, the Thomas Smith Self-Portrait (c.1670–91). Both kinds of artifacts, on stone and canvas, might well be described as means of “framing” the godly self. If Puritan diaries and journals, elegies and meditative poetry, biographies and autobiographies are literatures of and about the self, the gravestones and portrait painting that constitute my subject facilitate the performance of similar introspective labor. The fact that Thomas Smith likely painted his own resemblance while looking in a mirror represents only the most literal assertion of relations between his picture and the Puritan piety of self-examination. In approaching these material objects as “technologies of the self” (to appropriate a phrasing pursued by Tom Webster with respect to diaries), I also resituate them in particular environments and contexts and in relation to common practices and patterns of vision and behavior. I begin to suggest, furthermore, the intimate connections between these objects-in-place and other pictorial and textual forms of contemporary Puritan manufacture and imagination.

简要介绍了中式家居风格的概念及中国传统家居设计的要点,针对现代中式家居风格的软环境设计方法进行了探讨,提出应以民族特色的标志符号元素为代表,使用新科技及环保装饰材料,突出软环境设计来营造优雅的中式环境。     

基于可拓语义分析的智能音箱造型设计

目的基于可拓学理论,将文化特征转化为文化因子的形式以指导产品造型设计,并以智能音箱的设计为例验证方法的可能性。方法提取能够表征文化内涵的文化因子,并将其进行对比分析,构建文化基元的可拓表征模型,得到智能音箱文化语义的意向空间;其次,用图解思维将词汇语义转换为图解语义,再将图解语义与文化内涵的关联度作为智能音箱图解语义集的标准;最后,将文化特征以语义文化因子形式与产品造型相融合,以无锡精微绣文化的现代智能音箱为例进行设计,验证该方法的可行性。结论可拓语义特征与文化内涵的关联度可以反映出地域文化和图解语义之间的转换关系,从而建立图解语义的评估系统,为文化产品的设计提供参考。     

PROPOSAL FOR A UNIFIED NOMENCLATURE FOR DRYING LITERATURE

ABSTRACT

In general, drying processes are described by the quantity of air humidity of the exiting gases. This approach is not possible however by the drying medium of water in steam drying, since the air humidity naturally possesses a constant value of 100%. This paper presents a model which represents the drying processes on the basis of the observation of temperature profiles of the material and energetic balancing of all components involved as well as the wall of the apparatus. The modeling differentiates three intervals: the condensation phase, the 1st drying period and the 2nd drying period. In addition, a validation of the model on the basis of experiments in an experimental plant DN100 belonging to the university is dealt with. The satisfying concurrence of the theoretical and practical results shows that, with the help of the theoretical model, discontinuous steam drying processes can be theoretically described with sufficient accuracy.
