A conjugate filter oscillation reduction scheme originally developed for compressible flows and in general for hyperbolic conservation laws is applied to the solution of the incompressible Navier-Stokes equation with periodic boundary conditions. Conjugate low-pass and high-pass filters are constructed by using a local spectral method, the discrete singular convolution algorithm. A spectral-like resolution, i.e., near the machine precision obtained at a sampling rate close to the Nyquist limit (2 points per wavelength), is achieved in treating a smooth initial value problem which admits an exact solution. The spectral-like resolution is enhanced by the use of conjugate low-pass filters in treating the double shear layer and multi-shear layer problems, which exhibit extremely small flow features. 相似文献

This paper presents a homotopy-based algorithm for the recovery of depth cues in the spatial domain. The algorithm specifically deals with defocus blur and spatial shifts, that is 2D motion, stereo disparities and/or zooming disparities. These cues are estimated from two images of the same scene acquired by a camera evolving in time and/or space. We show that they can be simultaneously computed by resolving a system of equations using a homotopy method. The proposed algorithm is tested using synthetic and real images. The results confirm that the use of a homotopy method leads to a dense and accurate estimation of depth cues. This approach has been integrated into an application for relief estimation from remotely sensed images. 相似文献

Close shadowing experiments involving natural and synthetic stimuli are described. Preliminary results show that speakers are able to follow natural stimuli with an average delay of 70 ms whereas this delay typically exceeds 100 ms for stimuli produced by text-to-speech systems. A complementary experiment shows that this contrast is mainly due to the inappropriate or impoverished prosody generated by actual text-to-speech systems. 相似文献

(on a computer). Employing the tools of interval analysis and the theory of imprecise probabilities we argue that the verification
of coherence for these possibilistic probabilities, the corrections of non-coherent to coherent possibilistic probabilities

A set of perception experiments, using reiterant and lexicalised speech, was designed to perform a diagnostic of the relative implication of prosody in the segmentation and hierarchisation of speech. Both natural and synthetic intonation were evaluated. Then, two distance measures—correlation and root-mean-square distance on the acoustic parameters (F0, syllabic duration and intensity)—were applied to match the perception results. This objective vs. subjective comparison underlines which acoustic cues are used by listeners to judge the adequacy of prosody in performing a given function such as demarcation. Results can be summarized by a scale of the perceptual distance between two demarcation functions. The development of techniques for autonomous navigation in real-world environments constitutes one of the major trends in
the current research on robotics. An important problem in autonomous navigation is the need to cope with the large amount
of uncertainty that is inherent of natural environments. Fuzzy logic has features that make it an adequate tool to address
this problem. In this paper, we review some of the possible uses of fuzzy logic in the field of autonomous navigation. We
focus on four issues: how to design robust behavior-producing modules; how to coordinate the activity of several such modules;
how to use data from the sensors; and how to integrate high-level reasoning and low-level execution. For each issue, we review
some of the proposals in the literature, and discuss the pros and cons of fuzzy logic solutions.
