The suitability of round clinching tools for high strength structural steel

The use of light gauge steel framing is increasing rapidly. New methods for joining frames are being sought. One of the most promising methods is clinching. Clinching has been used for almost 20 years. There has been much research into the method, the tools, suitable materials and applications. Few articles have been published concerning clinching of high strength structural steels, which are currently the most relevant materials for house construction.This study included 11 different clinching methods. In total, 469 test pieces were produced. Despite the high strength of the materials, all the clinching methods that were examined could be used satisfactorily. The most significant result was that a round tool is appropriate for all the materials tested. In fact, in comparison with results obtained using other types of tool, when the methods were ranked by maximum shear load capacity, the round design appeared in the top three classes seven times out of nine.     

CMS/TiO2杂化材料电流变液的制备及其性能

利用特殊的溶胶凝胶方法原位制备了改性淀粉与无机钛氧化物杂化型电流变材料。实验表明,在强电场下其电流变效应比相同组份的淀粉、二氧化钛混合型电流变液有显著提高,直流电场4 kV/mm,剪切速率5 s-1时,静态剪切屈服强度可达4000 Pa以上。同时,抗沉降性明显改善,静置100 h几乎不沉淀。此外,温度效应也获得一定的优化,在10 ℃~90 ℃的工作温度范围内力学性能保持良好,70 ℃时剪切强度达到最大值。

大掺量粉煤灰轻质墙体砌块是以粉煤灰为主要原材料 ,普通硅酸盐水泥为胶凝材料 ,配以各种外加剂 ,经发泡剂发泡 ,在常温、常压条件下养护而成。具有重量轻、导热系数小、抗冻性高以及粉煤灰掺量大、成型方便、工艺简单、投资小、见效快等优点。     

地应力对岩心渗透率伤害实验及机理分析

生产实际情况表明，有许多油气田对应力较为敏感。随着生产的进行，储集层压力下降，有效应力不断变化，引起油藏产能逐渐降低。为研究这一规律和变化规律，阐述了应用岩民测试有效应力对渗透率影响的实验原理，在对实验数据进行统计分析的基础上，拟合出有效应力与渗透经的函数关系（二次多项式）。应用毛细管渗流概念以有弹性厚壁筒厚理，研究了随着毛细管管壁内外压差变化时，毛细管内半径变化有其对毛细管渗流能力的影响，所得结论与实验结果一致。在实际生产中，应控制油藏压力快速大幅度下降，避免有效应力变化引起油藏渗流能力下降和减产。     

Yield Stress and Microstructure of Set Yogurt Made from High Hydrostatic Pressure-Treated Full Fat Milk

ABSTRACT: Set yogurts were prepared from fortified milk subjected to the following processes: (a) Thermal process (85C,°C,35 min), (b) High hydrostatic pressure process (193 or 676 MPa for 5 or 30 min), and (c) Nonprocessed milk (control). Yogurts from milk treated with 676 MPa for 30 min exhibited similar yield stress and water-holding capacity (WHC) to yogurts from heated milk. Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) micrographs exhibited small round casein micelle aggregates without appendages in yogurts from heated milk. Yogurts from milk treated with 193 MPa and untreated milk exhibited low yield stress, low WHC, and large clusters of coalesced micelles. Mechanisms for gel formation are discussed.

高温预析出对Al-Zn-Mg系铝合金时效硬化和应力腐蚀的影响

研究了高温固溶后降温处理工艺对中强可使预析出LC52和7039铝合金的组织、时效硬化和应力腐蚀的影响。金相观察发现,高温预析出可优先在晶界处产生,并提高随后时效状态下晶界析出相的不连续分布程度,温度降低到一定程度晶内和晶界产生大量析出。合金拉伸性能和应力腐蚀结果表明,预析出在保持强度和塑性的同时,可提高抗应力腐蚀性能。而预析出温度降低,合金强度呈下降趋势。     

Neuroticism and depressive symptoms among spouse caregivers: Do health behaviors mediate this relationship?

This study examined the mediating role of health behaviors in the relationship between neuroticism and depressive symptoms among spouse caregivers. Path analysis was used to test a model of the caregiver stress process among 233 caregivers of people with dementia. Results indicate that neuroticism has a significant direct effect on depressive symptoms and also indirectly influences depressive symptoms through health behaviors and perceived stress. When individual health behaviors were examined in the path model, only physical activity served a significant mediating role. These findings suggest that neuroticism may lead to depressive symptoms among caregivers partly through declines in physical activity. Simulation of Strength Distribution in Ground Ceramics by Incorporating Residual Stress Effect

Strength of ground ceramics may be affected by residual stress as well as surface flaws induced by grinding. Strength prediction for ground ceramics is convenient for mechanical design of ceramic components. In this article, a numerical procedure based on fracture mechanics was proposed to estimate strength distribution of ground ceramics by considering grinding-induced residual stress. Bending strength and residual stress of ground ceramics were measured for three grinding-conditions. By comparison of simulated results with experimental ones, it was revealed that strength characteristics in experiments were well simulated by using the proposed procedure.
