Industrialization has led to a number of environmental problems, such as release of toxic metals and other toxic organic and inorganic compounds to the environment. Among all, the rapid expansion of leather related industries in Pakistan have resulted in considerable environmental problems and effluents from processing of both domestic and imported hides and skins have increased pollution to alarming levels. Some tannery effluents of Peshawar area investigated in the present study showed high concentrations of Cr(Ⅵ) (2.7-12.6 mg/L), Cu(Ⅱ) (2.6-11.4 mg/L) and phenol (0.1-4.2 mg/L). These contaminants are very toxic and must be removed from effluents before releasing into water bodies. A new technique of gamma irradiation has been investigated to decrease the load of COD and concentrations of Cr(Ⅵ), Cu(Ⅱ) and phenol associated with tannery effluents to the permitted values. It was observed that concentration of Cr(Ⅵ) in the effluents can be brought to the permitted level by applying radiation dose of 3 kGy. A radiation dose of 2.5 kGy was required to remove more than 95% of Cu(Ⅱ) and 100 % degradation of phenol in tannery effluents could be achieved by only one kGy of radiation dose.  相似文献

Wine aging is an important process to produce high-quality wines. Traditionally, wines are aged in oak barrel aging systems. However, due to the disadvantages of the traditional aging technology, such as lengthy time needed, high cost, etc., innovative aging technologies have been developed. These technologies involve aging wines using wood fragments, application of micro-oxygenation, aging on lees, or application of some physical methods. Moreover, wine bottling can be regarded as the second phase of wine aging and is essential for most wines. Each technology can benefit the aging process from different aspects. Traditional oak barrel aging technology is the oldest and widely accepted technology. The application of wood fragments and physical methods are promising in accelerating aging process artificially, while application of micro-oxygenation and lees is reliable to improve wine quality. This paper reviews recent developments of the wine aging technologies. The impacts of operational parameters of each technology on wine quality during aging are analyzed, and comparisons among these aging technologies are made. In addition, several strategies to produce high-quality wines in a short aging period are also proposed.  相似文献

ABSTRACT:  Enterobacter sakazakii is an emerging foodborne pathogen that has caused several cases of meningitis and necrotizing entercolitis in infants and has been associated with infant formulas. Five strains of E. sakazakii were inoculated individually into brain heart infusion broth and rehydrated or dehydrated infant milk formula and exposed to ionizing radiation. E. sakazakii strains in brain heart infusion broth and rehydrated infant milk formula (RIMF) were exposed to irradiation dose of up to 1 kGy while strains in dehydrated infant milk formula (DIMF) were exposed to irradiation dose of up to 9 kGy. The D10-values were determined by using a linear regression model. Average calculated D10-values ranged from 0.21 to 0.29 kGy, 0.24 to 0.37 kGy, and 1.06 to 1.71 kGy in brain heart infusion broth, RIMF, and DIMF, respectively. The results obtained from this study will be useful for powdered infant milk formula industries to reduce the risk associated with E. sakazakii .  相似文献

研究了高密度聚乙烯/铅硼复合材料的屏蔽性能和力学性能,通过屏蔽仿真比较了密度及碳化硼(B4C)含量对屏蔽性能的影响,通过试验比较了B4C含量对屏蔽性能、弯曲强度及冲击强度的影响。仿真结果表明,随聚乙烯/铅硼复合材料密度升高,快中子屏蔽性能下降,热中子屏蔽性能和γ屏蔽性能提高;保持聚乙烯/铅硼复合材料密度不变,随B4C含量的提高,中子屏蔽性能提高而γ屏蔽性能下降;实验数据表明,随B4C含量的升高,高密度聚乙烯/铅硼材料的快中子屏蔽性能、热中子屏蔽性能升高,γ屏蔽系数下降,冲击强度和弯曲强度下降明显,屏蔽性能测试结果和仿真结果规律性相符;综合仿真结果和实验数据表明,含B4C 2 %左右的高密度聚乙烯/铅硼复合材料同时具有较好的屏蔽性能和力学性能。  相似文献

Peculiarities in catalytic activity in carbon monoxide oxidation as well as some structure, electronic and magnetic properties of the three oxide catalysts, Mn3+–O/Al2O3 (1), Mn3+–O–Fe/Al2O3 (Mn-substituted spinel, 2) and -Fe2O3/Al2O3 (3), were studied by kinetic measurements and by Mössbauer spectroscopy. The catalysts 1 and 2 showed a kinetic bistability with a sharp transition towards more reactive state at 200°C (ignition point). In contrast, for catalyst 3, at 200–250°C, the behavior of reaction rate against temperature did not display noticeable hysteresis. On cooling the catalysts 1 and 2, extinction was observed at about 170 and 120°C, respectively, i.e., at 30–80°C lower than the corresponding ignition points. Proximity of activation energy for the high and low activity (15–19 kJ/mol) for both Mn-containing catalysts suggests an increase in the number of active sites at high temperature with no changes in the reaction mechanism. The considerable difference between Mn-containing catalysts 1, 2 and Fe-containing catalyst 3 may be caused by Jahn–Teller (JT) type distortions of the oxygen polyhedron around Mn3+. A significant spontaneous axial bond stretching within the local polyhedron seems to diminish Mn–O binding energy, facilitate the participation of surface oxygen species, OS, in the oxidation of CO by a redox mechanism and promote oxygen vacancies at the surface that would cause considerable effect on the activity. An increase in the width of the counterclockwise hysteresis loop for the catalyst 2 compared to the catalyst 1 indicates that clusters of mixed spinel provide more active sites and more labile OS species than clusters of the binary Mn oxide.  相似文献

在密闭的氮气气氛下,用伽马射线辐照聚二甲基硅橡胶泡沫,采用全反射红外光谱(ATR)和X射线光电子能谱(XPS)对辐照后的化学结构和元素含量变化进行了表征.结果表明:化学结构单元Si-CH3最容易受到伽马射线的影响,在低的辐照剂量下表面Si-CH3成分随着辐照剂量增加而减小;高剂量下材料的元素分布发生了变化,近表面C元素含量要比泡沫体中部的C元素含量高.因此,在密闭环境下辐照老化后的硅橡胶泡沫的表面性能和体内性能存在差异.  相似文献

大方位失准角捷联惯导系统(strapdown inertial narigation system,SINS)误差方程是非线性的,为改善非线性模型下初始对准的精度,提出将一种新的非线性滤波方法(cubature Kalman filter,CKF)应用于捷联惯导系统初始对准中。为此建立了大方位失准角下初始对准非线性模型,分析了基于spherical-radial cubature准则的CKF滤波原理,对非线性模型进行了CKF滤波仿真。仿真结果表明CKF能够很好地处理初始对准中的非线性问题,提高初始对准精度,方位失准角误差能够收敛到-33.13’,接近理论估计精度-32.40’,优于EKF的-84.14’。  相似文献
