Replies to comments by J. Read (see record 2007-07130-012), D. Gleaves et al (see record 2007-07130-013), V. Edwards et al (see record 2007-07130-014), M. Black and R. Black (see record 2007-07130-015), and S. Ullman (see record 2007-07130-016), which raised important points about the authors' original article (see record 2006-03947-003). Those comments extend our thinking about how to ask participants about abuse in an ethical way. Together, the comments point to the importance of researchers examining our own reasons for asking--or not asking--about abuse and of paying attention to how we respond when we ask. 简要回顾了我国钨矿业悠久的历史、资源的优势、技术的进步和卓越的贡献 ;20世纪80年代中期以后 ,逐步陷入困境 ,举步维艰的主要表现 ;以及在解决“四矿”(矿业、矿山、矿工、矿城)问题中的艰苦经历。指出应在“四矿”问题讨论中做更多、更深的对策思考 ,并对钨业的“四矿”问题加以重点研究。     

On parity problems and the functional-link artificial neural network

This paper contains the proof of a theorem on the capability of functional-link artificial neural networks both to represent and to learn the n-dimensional parity problem. The result is obtained by an embedding of the problem into a space of dimension 2ⁿ — 1. It is shown that the Volterra expansion of the data in n-dimensions provides the necessary transformation. By computing the parity function, it is shown that a suitable set of neural network weights can be deduced. Finally, it is demonstrated that 2ⁿ — 1 is the minimum embedding dimension for the problem.The contribution of A Zuderell of the University of Innsbruck is acknowledged.     

Finances and Well-Being: A Dynamic Equilibrium Model of Resources.

This study of 513 Dutch farmers tested a dynamic equilibrium model of resources (an extension of the conservation of resources theory; S. E. Hobfoll, 1989, 1998, 2001). With structural equation modeling, the advantages of a 3-wave longitudinal design were comprehensively used, such as addressing bidirectional causal effects and within-individual vs. between-individual change. This allowed for a careful analysis of the management function of resources in the stress process. Results showed that well-being had stronger within-person stability than finances. Increased levels of financial problems temporarily increased psychological distress but not self-reported illness. Conversely, farmers with higher stable baselines of psychological distress also had higher baselines of self-reported illness and experienced more negative changes in their financial situation. School-Based Child-Centered Play Therapy with Hispanic Children: Outcomes and Cultural Consideration.

Hispanic children are the fastest growing segment of the population. Numerous factors place them at-risk for school success. This study examined the effects of Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) compared to a curriculum-based small group intervention with 29 Hispanic children referred for school counseling due to behavior problems. Children were assigned to treatment groups by random drawing within grade levels. Treatment was provided by Hispanic bilingual counselors. Statistical analysis revealed that, according to parent report, children receiving CCPT showed statistically significant decreases in externalizing behavior problems, compared to the curriculum-based treatment group. Effect size calculations revealed that CCPT demonstrated a large treatment effect on externalizing behavior problems and a moderate treatment effect on internalizing behavior problems. Abstract. The influence of missing observations on the linear prediction of a stationary time series is investigated. Simple bounds for the prediction error variance and asymptotic behaviours for short and long‐memory processes respectively are presented.
