State feedback control of continuous-time T-S fuzzy systems via switched fuzzy controllers

This paper studies the problem of state feedback control of continuous-time T-S fuzzy systems. Switched fuzzy controllers are exploited in the control design, which are switched based on the values of membership functions, and the control scheme is an extension of the parallel distributed compensation (PDC) scheme. Sufficient conditions for designing switched state feedback controllers are obtained with meeting an H_∞ norm bound requirement and quadratic D stability constraints. It is shown that the new control design method provides less conservative results than the corresponding ones via the parallel distributed compensation (PDC) scheme. A numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.     

基于离散单元法的群楼拆除爆破仿真模拟

基于青岛开发区一商场爆破工程,利用颗粒离散元法建立离散元网格实体模型,用多面体离散元法模拟分析拆除爆破中建筑物的倒塌过程。研发的网格实体模型详细模拟了建筑物从结构局部失稳到整体完全倒塌的整个过程,确定了爆堆轮廓线和爆堆尺寸,直观给出了爆破设计的效果。触地振动、冲击力变化分析结果表明:所给出的爆破方案可达到预期拆除爆破的效果,触地振动符合《爆破安全规程》要求;该模型可优化爆破设计,指导爆破施工,为建筑物拆除爆破的灾害预测与安全评估提供理论依据。     

The resolution of analogue measuring devices and its associated uncertainty: An investigation with practical recommendations

Despite the popularity of the analogue measuring devices, there is no recognized reference provided comprehensive guidelines for determining their resolution and its associated uncertainty. For filling this gap, this article is introduced as an attempt to explore and investigate all the available works related to this issue. The new terminology “evident space”, “evident resolution”, and “conjunction” were proposed to set a common reference. Two different techniques for determining the analogue resolution were presented and discussed. Several numerical examples were also presented to show different analogue indications and their interpretations. Moreover, reasonable recommendations for determining the resolution uncertainty were suggested depending on the case.     

一种新的全镇定控制器的参数设计法研究

Youla参数化方法广泛应用于控制系统的分析和设计;此方法使得系统闭环稳定的全部的镇定控制器均以一个稳定传递函数作为待定参数来表达;建立另外一种不同的参数化方法,这种方法尤其适用于主动振动控制系统:它不仅参数化所有镇定控制器,同时能够给控制性能变量以非常直观的几何图形解释;讨论这种新方法的特性及其设计,并将该设计方法应用于一个三自由度的主动振动隔离系统中,仿真结果表明,所提出的方法可以有效地达到主动振动隔离的设计目的。     

Nonsmooth µ‐synthesis

We revisit robust complex‐ and mixed‐ µ‐synthesis problems based on upper bounds and show that they can be recast as specially structured controller design programs. The proposed reformulations suggest a streamlined handling of µ‐synthesis problems using recently developed (local) nonsmooth optimization methods, where both scalings or multipliers and a controller of given structure are obtained simultaneously. A first cut of the nonsmooth programming software for structured H_∞ synthesis is made available through the MATLAB R2010b Prerelease, Robust Control Toolbox Version 3.5 developed by The MathWorks, Inc. Playing with power: Power poses affect enjoyment,presence, controller responsiveness,and arousal when playing natural motion-controlled video games

Though playing with natural versus traditional game controllers affects game experiences, studies have not investigated how power poses affect the experience of playing natural controlled video games. Participants keeping powerful poses experienced increased enjoyment, presence, and controller responsiveness compared with those holding powerless poses. Congruent with self-perception and automatic activation models, mediation analyses uncovered direct effects of power poses and also indirect effects in which power poses increased power feelings, which in turn were associated with higher enjoyment, presence, and controller responsiveness but reduced arousal. This provides initial evidence for how physical poses affect people's experiences with natural game interfaces, and highlight basic self-perception and automatic activation mechanisms behind the effect.     

Automatic design of fuzzy logic controllers for medium access control in wireless body area networks – An evolutionary approach

Soft computing techniques including fuzzy logic have been successfully applied to wireless body area networks (WBANs). However, most of the existing research works rely on manual design of the fuzzy logic controller (FLC). To address this issue, in this paper, we propose an evolutionary approach to automate the design of FLCs for cross layer medium access control in WBANs. With the goal of improving network reliability while keeping the communication delay at a low level, we have particularly studied the usefulness of three coding schemes with different levels of flexibility during the evolutionary design process. The influence of fitness functions that measure the effectiveness of each possible FLC design has also been examined carefully in order to achieve a good balance between reliability and performance. Moreover, we have utilised surrogate models to improve the efficiency of the design process. In consideration of practical usefulness, we have further identified two main design targets. The first target is to design effective FLCs for a specific network configuration. The second target focuses on designing FLCs to function across a wide range of network settings. In order to examine the usefulness of our design approach, we have utilised two widely used evolutionary algorithms, i.e. particle swarm optimisation (PSO) and differential evolution (DE). The FLC designed by our approach is also shown to outperform some related algorithms as well as the IEEE 802.15.4 standard.
