Rheological characteristics of modified calcium grease with graphene nanosheets

The effect of graphene nanosheets (GNS) on the rheological characteristics and thermal conductivity of calcium grease used in marine applications, and water pumps for lower demanding applications, has been experimentally evaluated in this paper. Various volume fractions of GNS (0.5, 1, 2, 3, and 4% wt.) have been immersed in the grease aiming at finding the better percentages that improve the properties of nanogrease. The rheological characteristics and thermal conductivity were evaluated with a Brookfield Rheometer DV-III ULTRA and KD2 thermal analyzer, respectively. The results of the modified calcium grease indicated that the best concentration of GNS is 3% wt. The rheological characteristics of the grease with a different volume fraction of GNS indicated a non-Newtonian behavior. Thermal conductivity of nanogreas also increases with an increase of GNS volume fraction. Moreover, the apparent viscosity, shear stress and dropping point increase by 59%, 52%, and 65%, respectively, with increasing GNS volume fraction.

降水酸度时间序列的长程相关性

利用R/S分析方法分析了分别来源于美国North Dakota(1980～2000年)及我国常德市(1990～1999年)的降水酸度月均值时间序列,证实了降水酸度时间序列中存在长程相关性.其Hurst指数H>0.5,表明其变化表现为分形布朗运动,各月份降水酸度值是相互关联的.长程相关的时间可达8～9年,表明长程相关性是降水酸度趋势预测中必须考虑的重要因子。     

基于分形参数的中药材显微图象纹理分析

提出了一种基于分形维数分析中药材显微图象的方法。将中药材显微图象视为灰度纹理图象,依据分形布朗运动性质和功率谱法对4种中药材显微图象进行分维数计算。结果表明:中药材显微图象具有分形的特征,分维数能有效地描述纹理的结构与灰度,不同的显微图象对应不同的分维数,分维数可作为分析图象及进一步识别图象的一个定量参数。     

基于自相似通信量输入的带宽分配算法

自相似网络通信量的发现及其对排队系统性能的影响已经得到了大量的研究。该文研究了自相似通信量输入条件下FIFO排队系统的带宽分配问题。首先得到了假设条件下排队系统的所要求带宽的上界。然后在此基础上研究了同种和异种自相似输入通信量输入情况下的带宽分配策略。最后通过仿真分析验证了所得到结果的有效性。

γ透射法测管道油垢厚度响应的宽束影响

对利用γ射线透射幅度谱测管道油垢厚度响应的宽束影响进行了研究。模拟实验装置由137Cs γ射线的准直束、NaI(TI)探测器和BH1224多道谱仪组成。实验结果表明:响应与油垢厚度呈线性关系。利用光电峰区测垢,标定直线的斜率为负值;利用康普顿峰区测垢受宽束的影响,其标定直线的斜率为正值,但随管道直径增大斜率迅速减小。利用全谱测垢,对于细管道斜率为正值,对于粗管道则为负值。实测的修正因子β与1的偏差均<2％。     

BFe30-1-1白铜管早期腐蚀失效原因分析

某电厂凝汽器BFe30-1-1白铜管投运后几年内出现较为严重的局部腐蚀和点腐蚀，为此，对材质、水质等诸多因素进行了分析研究，通过宏观、微观检查和电化学试验，认为是微生物及生物粘泥的附着引起了铜管的早期腐蚀失效。     

The Power of the Brown v. Board of Education Decision: Theorizing Threats to Sustainability.

Interviews with African American and White American elders capture the immediate power of the Brown v. Board of Education (1954) decision and the biography of its impact over time. This article reviews the lived experience of the decision and theorizes 3 threats to sustainability that ruthlessly undermined the decision over time: (a) the unacknowledged and enormous sacrifice endured by the African American community in the name of desegregation; b) the violent and relentless resistance to the decision by government officials, educators, and many White community members; and (c) the dramatic shrinkage of the vision of Brown from the dismantling of White supremacy to a technical matter of busing. The Scientific Attack on Brown v. Board of Education, 1954-1964.

Psychologists' work was cited in the Supreme Court case of Brown v. Board of Education (1954). One criticism of the citation was that psychology could be used to overturn the Brown decision and return the country to segregation. A historical examination of such an attempt to overturn Brown in the early 1960s on the basis of new psychological knowledge shows that psychology was not persuasive in the face of the civil rights movement. The failure of segregationists to overturn Brown with psychological experts underscores how psychology is ineluctably bound to the larger society.
