Mg-Ni thin films were grown using Pulsed Laser Deposition. In situ optical changes from shiny metallic to transparent states were observed for films deposited in vacuum and under an Ar/H2 gas mixture (93/7%), respectively. Optical changes were also achieved by ex situ hydrogenation under hydrogen gas pressure of 15 bars at 200 °C. However, after ex situ hydrogenation, the optical transmittance of the Mg-based hydrogenated thin films did not exceed 25%. Such limitation was attributed to oxygen contamination, as deduced by High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy observations, showing the co-existence of both Mg-based and MgO phases for as-deposited films. A significant decrease in oxygen contamination was successfully achieved with the addition of carbon, leading to the preparation of (Mg-based)-Cx (x < 20%) thin films showing a faster and easier hydrogenation. 相似文献

The mirror-confinement-type electron cyclotron resonance (MCECR) plasma source has high plasma density and high electron temperature, and it is quite useful in many plasma processing, and has been used for etching and thin-film deposition. In this paper, the carbon films about 50 nm thickness were deposited on Si (1 0 0) by MCECR plasma sputtering the sintered carbon target with the argon plasma, and its properties were studied. The bonding structure of the film was analyzed by using the X-ray photoelectron spectropscopy (XPS) and the nanostructure was evaluated with the high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). The tribological properties (friction coefficient, wear rate, and wear life) of the film was investigated by using the pin-on-disk tribometer under the conditions that the normal load is 1 N and the sliding velocity is 0.05 m/s. The nanohardness of the films was measured by using the nanoindenter under conditions that the maximum displacement is 30 nm and the maximum load is 500 μN. The optical properties were measured by using the ellipsometer. The residual stress was measured with a surface profilometer. Nanoparticles and especially carbon nanotubes (CNTs) provide a high potential for the modification of polymers. They are very effective fillers regarding mechanical properties, especially toughness. Furthermore, they allow the implication of functional properties, which are connected to their electrical conductivity, into polymeric matrices. In the present paper, different nanoparticles, as fumed silica and carbon black, were used to optimise the epoxy matrix system of a glass-fibre-reinforced composite. Their nanometre-size enables their application as particle-reinforcement in FRPs produced by the resin-transfer-moulding method (RTM), without being filtered by the glass-fibre bundles. Additionally, an electrical field was applied during curing, in order to enhance orientation of the nanofillers in z-direction. The interlaminar shear strengths of the nanoparticle modified composites were significantly improved (+16%) by adding only 0.3 wt.% of CNTs. The interlaminar toughness GIc and GIIc was not affected in a comparable manner. The laminates containing carbon nanotubes exhibited a relatively high electrical conductivity at very low filler contents, which allows the implication of functional properties, such as stress-strain monitoring and damage detection. 相似文献

Carbon nanotube (CNT) is a useful material for gas-sensing applications because of its high surface to volume ratio structure.
In this work, multi-wall CNTs are incorporated into tin oxide thin film by means of powder mixing and electron beam evaporation
and the enhancement of gas-sensing properties is presented. The CNTs were combined with SnO2powder with varying concentration in the range of 0.25–5% by weight and electron beam evaporated onto glass substrates. From
AFM and TEM characterization, CNT inclusion in SnO2thin film results in the production of circular cone protrusions of CNT clusters or single tube coated with SnO2layer. Experimental results indicate that the sensitivity to ethanol of SnO2thin film increases by the factors of 3 to 7, and the response time and recovery time were reduced by the factors of 2 or
more with CNT inclusion. However, if the CNT concentration is too high, the sensitivity is decreased. Moreover, the CNT doped
film can operate with good sensitivity and stability at a relatively low temperature of 250–300∘C. The improved gas-sensing properties should be attributed to the increasing of surface adsorption area of metal oxide produced

In this review, the progress made in the last ten years concerning the synthesis of porous carbon materials is summarized. Porous carbon materials with various pore sizes and pore structures have been synthesized using several different routes. Microporous activated carbons have been synthesized through the activation process. Ordered microporous carbon materials have been synthesized using zeolites as templates. Mesoporous carbons with a disordered pore structure have been synthesized using various methods, including catalytic activation using metal species, carbonization of polymer/polymer blends, carbonization of organic aerogels, and template synthesis using silica nanoparticles. Ordered mesoporous carbons with various pore structures have been synthesized using mesoporous silica materials such as MCM‐48, HMS, SBA‐15, MCF, and MSU‐X as templates. Ordered mesoporous carbons with graphitic pore walls have been synthesized using soft‐carbon sources that can be converted to highly ordered graphite at high temperature. Hierarchically ordered mesoporous carbon materials have been synthesized using various designed silica templates. Some of these mesoporous carbon materials have successfully been used as adsorbents for bulky pollutants, as electrodes for supercapacitors and fuel cells, and as hosts for enzyme immobilization. Ordered macroporous carbon materials have been synthesized using colloidal crystals as templates.
