One of the ways to generate clean and non-destructive energy is to use the energy stored in the biomass resources by the microbial fuel cells (MFCs). Sediment Microbial Fuel Cells (SMFCs) are a special type of MFCs that use organic materials in aquifers sediment to generate electricity. In this research, the effects of an increase in the electrode surface are investigated. The results showed that the increase in cathode electrode surface had better efficiency than the multi-cathode mode (maximum power generated for a 3-cathode electrode (27 cm3) and 1-cathode electrode (27 cm3) was 526 mW/cm2 and 800 mW/cm2, respectively. Another parameter affecting the performance of these systems is temperature. In the next step, the power generation rate was measured in different step currents and at different sample times. In the final stage, a power management system (PMS) was designed to optimally utilize the output energy of the improved SMFC, leading to an increase in the output voltage to 3.3 V.  相似文献

Wafer-level characterization of functional prototypes of solid state current sensors is usually the first step in the development stage, therefore a dedicated wafer-level measurement systems are required. Especially for MHz characterization, where electromagnetic interference issues became strongly relevant. Thus, for frequencies above 1 MHz, a sophisticated measurement techniques are needed, because parasitic couplings can significantly affect sensor response and other signal processing stages, causing errors or malfunction of the whole system. We propose technique for high immunity MHz current measurement by solid state sensor in wafer-level configuration. The system is especially well-suited for MHz characterization, where electromagnetic interference issues become highly relevant. We showed that balanced transmission provides possibility to reduce interference in the sensor biasing circuit of about 60 dB compared to single-ended method. The effectiveness of the proposed technique was tested in monitoring MHz current in the external line by single magnetoresistive sensors on wafer level.  相似文献

This paper investigates the current control for a grid-connected direct-drive wind energy conversion system (DDWECS) with a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG), which utilizes a back-to-back pulse width modulation (PWM) converter. For the machine-side, the controller adopts a current vector control method based on the rotating reference frame (RRF) and the maximum power extraction (MPE) is realised through the tip speed ratio (TSR) method. For the grid-side, a novel controller is proposed for the first time to be successfully used for the DDWECS, which combining a proportional complex integral (PCI) current inner loop based on stationary reference frame (SRF) for regulating the grid-side current with a dc voltage outer loop for stabilizing the dc bus voltage and compare with the proportional resonant (PR) controller. A system simulation model is established by using the Matlab/Simulink to simulate the performance of the DDWECS and a prototype system has been build and tested to verify the validity of the developed control methods for both machine-side and grid-side and the excellent performance of the DDWECS.  相似文献

This paper analyzes the stability and switching controllability properties of a single-phase PWM rectifier and its relationship with parameter uncertainty. Based on this analysis, a switching control strategy is proposed that has as objectives (i) to achieve input current tracking and low current THD (total harmonic distortion) as well as (ii) to regulate the output voltage in spite of perturbations. The proposed control does not require a PWM generation step design. Numerical simulations and experimental tests in a 1 kW prototype demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller and illustrate the limits of system's controllability.  相似文献

A method of extraction of source and drain resistances in linear mode of operation from a single transistor is described. The proposed method can also be used to measure source resistance over the entire operating range from linear to saturation mode of operation. The method uses two floating probes outside the channel, one adjacent to the source and the other to the drain to sense the voltage under these contacts. Using transmission line analysis, the source and drain resistances are directly extracted from these measurements. 2D numerical simulation results confirm the validity of the proposed technique and sensitivity analysis shows that the method is more accurate than the conventional gated four probe technique, especially, when the source resistance is much smaller than the channel resistance. Experimental results obtained with Pentacene top-contact transistors are used to illustrate the proposed technique. Analysis of two devices with very different source resistance is carried out to highlight the ability of the proposed technique to offer insight into the different contributing factors. Current crowding under the source contact and accurate estimation of mobility without the distorting effects of source resistance are also described.  相似文献

This paper reports on the evaluation of adaptive cruise control (ACC) from a psychological perspective. It was anticipated that ACC would have an effect upon the psychology of driving, i.e. make the driver feel like they have less control, reduce the level of trust in the vehicle, make drivers less situationally aware, but workload might be reduced and driving might be less stressful. Drivers were asked to drive in a driving simulator under manual and ACC conditions. Analysis of variance techniques were used to determine the effects of workload (i.e. amount of traffic) and feedback (i.e. degree of information from the ACC system) on the psychological variables measured (i.e. locus of control, trust, workload, stress, mental models and situation awareness). The results showed that: locus of control and trust were unaffected by ACC, whereas situation awareness, workload and stress were reduced by ACC. Ways of improving situation awareness could include cues to help the driver predict vehicle trajectory and identify conflicts.  相似文献
